Trying to do a better job of making sure I'm in some photos, instead of always taking them.

Apparently I was bothering him by taking a photo and interrupting his art work.

Okay, so I know it's been a long time, but here's a little teaser for you from a photo shoot from December 2009. Grey was just a few months past 1. I'll post some of my other favorites from it eventually, but for now, check out the photographer's website...and eat your heart out. This is one cute kid.

I tried to make a mohawk, but it folded over... still, this kid LOVES bath time.

Update: Grey is now walking and about to have a mouth full of teeth. His favorite things in the world are buttons and light/fan switches, really anything that's not actually made to be a baby toy, he wants to play with it. He is still as social as ever, saying Hi to strangers everywhere we go, quite the little charmer. He's still a very easy baby, as long as he gets enough affection and sleep. He's started using the remote control and pretending it's a phone, putting it to his ear and saying "hi" then handing it to someone else to "talk." Funny the things kids pick up without being told. Hope everyone is having a great New Year and give us a call if you're in San Diego!

Grey is now crawling furiously. He can pull himself up to standing with out aid and two teeth have also appeared. Yesterday, his measurements were: Length 30 1/2 inches and Weight 20.2 lbs. His favorite past times are standing, playing with an old guitar we've got, eating sand, listening to his momma sing "Old MacDonald had a farm" and squealing at dogs, especially labs. (Photos below taken in thepast few weeks. Photo above taken today.)

especially when motivated, like when following his favorite furry friend... but he doesn't like crawling on the tile.

Update!

2009-02-18T10:57:00.000-08:00

I'm sure you've been enjoying the pictures but, it's about time for an update with words! My excuse is obvious: We've been busy! This semester we are both in school so between the two of us balancing classes, homework, baby and a job, (not to mention eating, sleeping and laundry) has left little time for blogging. Thankfully we're enjoying it. Grey's schedule is gradually shifting, leaving me slightly less sleep deprived and I am grateful. He is now 4 months old and delights us daily. We spend much of our time stunned by the speed with which his motor skills transform his/our life. Now that he can roll over and grab things, it feels like no surface is safe. Hence why we just ducktape him to the wall during the day. Just kidding. When I see other small children wobbling around on two legs I can barely believe my little baby will one day walk too. However, no need to say "they grow so fast." Strangers remind me constantly.

As if our life was not exciting enough, a week and a half ago I got a crazy flu virus that got me so intensely dehydrated I wound up in the emergency room so they could pump 4 bags of cold saline water into my aching body. No fun at all. I told the nurse: "I gave birth naturally, without any drugs and this is worse." Of course it's not a fair comparison, because with childbirth you've got adrenaline and other hormones pumping through your system and you've been looking forward to this day for a while, not to mention you get a baby at the end of it, a good pay pack for the pain. With this flu, I got nothing but a plastic bracelet with my name on it. However, I'm all better and back to eating 4000 calories a day (gotta love breastfeeding).

So, on Feb. 6 (the day Grey turned 4 months old) these were his new stats from the pediatrician:

Weight: 16 lbs. 10 oz. (percentile: 75%)
Length: 26 1/4 inches (percentile: 90%)
Head: 17 inches (percentile: 75%)

Grey is introduced to his feet and he smiles.
