Here is what I managed to complete of The Lights of Home before I started the one below...

And here is my progress on the Irish Fae. I only have some of the threads at the moment, I'm waiting for the rest to arrive from 123 stitch...

I have a surprise for you! I got totally fed up with the Lights of Home...so I went browsing on the Heaven and Earth Designs website...ummm not a good idea... So I ended up buying a new chart. Here it is:

I love the colours! But here's the thing...some of you who have been following my blog for a long time are going to think 'What is she doing?' I started my first HAED The Waiting on 25 count Lugana. I did 12 pages of it and then my hand cramped up and I was unable to continue...so I restarted it on 18 count AIDA and finished it in January 2011.

My problem is that I want to do the Sanctuary of Knowledge and if I do it on 18 count, it will end up being over a metre wide and I don't think I can handle working with fabric that big...

So the above chart is a kind of test to see if I can handle the 25 count Lugana. I still kept it from my first attempt and I have plenty to do this chart. I also have craft support gloves now which support my hands and I have done about 400 stitches with no problem whatsoever. I have also gone from stitching in hand to using a 6 x 6 Q-Snap frame and I love it!

Tonight I have ordered a 1/2 yard of white 28 count Jobelan fabric from here. It was just $14US plus $8 postage...which is $10 cheaper than 123 stitch would sell it for...This will be enough to do the Sanctuary of Knowledge...

The people at my craft group might try and commit me to a mental hospital when they see me trying to cross stitch 1 over 1 on 28 count...they mostly knit and crochet and they think the 18 count is tiny...LOL

I thought I'd update on my progress so far. I have completed the row and am currently doing the next page on the next row. I usually post when I have completed a page but I thought I had done enough work to warrant a photo!

That was an effort! Another quite hard to do page complete!. Now I just have to finish the row and then I can start on the next row of pages...

I'm on a roll! I have devoted a lot of time to cross stitch this week including an all night session and I have completed another page...I decided to do an easy page which was the one next to the lion cub...well after doing that harder page to the bottom left, I figured I needed a break from all those colour changes!

I have already stared to do the small section to the right...and then I guess I'll have to tackle the second cub.

The page on the left was very hard and took me 3-4 weeks to do. I have also done some of the page on the right to try and finish the next row that isn't complete. I am still missing DMC #370 but I will get that when I can.

The Lights of Home Update

Please excuse the previous 2 posts. I'm experimenting with setting up a shopping cart on this blog so they were necessary for that!

Anyway I have worked on The Lights of Home constantly all day yesterday and most of the night as well and I finished what I wanted to do about an hour ago. As you can see I have finished the small page on the right and the page with the second lion on it (except for a few stitches in the lion where I have run out of the DMC colour needed). I have been working on this on and off for the past week but I really put in the effort the last few hours!

Just to let you know, I'm back to working on my HAED The Lights of Home. I am almost ready to update, I'm just working on some confetti on part of the second lion cub and I'll update then. I have some more small projects finished and scheduled to post but I am back working on the HAED now...

It's funny how HAEDs seem to call your name after a while....LOL

Christmas Tree Decorations

These are the Christmas tree decorations I made. They are now on ebay as I made them to sell on there. I have bought 20 of 2 colours (Christmas red and Christmas green) and I will make them next year (as well as doing my HAED) to sell at a local market in December 2012.

I have been taking a break from my HAED's since my last update and I have been making Christmas tree decorations. I have nearly done three (and halfway finished a fourth one!), I just have to buy the ribbon to make a loop so that they can hang on the tree.

I am buying the ribbon today so when they are finished I will post a picture...

Finished the cat this morning and now it's all ready to go. This is for our Craft group Christmas present exchange. You give a gift in and get a gift back. So I don't know who this is going to. I hope its someone who likes cats! Now I can get back to The Lights of Home HAED. How I have missed doing it! I have decided to concentrate on the cubs and see if I can get that done...The Sanctuary of Knowledge can wait a while...

Long time readers will remember this cat cross stitch I started some time ago. The top picture is the previous update picture and the bottom one is what I have done so far. I need to finish it by December as I am giving it as a gift for Christmas. I haven't got far to go, I have completed the top part and just have to do the bottom section. This piece is quite hard and I have to keep changing thread with lots of colour changes...

I can't wait to get back to my HAED. When I do get back to it, I think I am going to focus on the lion cubs (The Lights of Home). I'm not really good at rotations, I prefer to focus on one HAED at a time...

I have almost completed a page on both 'The Lights of Home' and 'The Sanctuary of Knowledge' I usually post after I have completed full pages but I last posted on August 19 so it's time to post a new update even though I haven't quite finished the pages. I intend on thr Lights of Home to do the page underneath the one I have just done so I can get more of the lion cub done.

Just a note to say that I started the Sanctuary of Knowledge on the 8th August. The threads came on the 7th and it took me quite a while to get them sorted and one of each colour wound onto cards...my mum helped LOL

Well, I gotta go, I'm attending a seminar tonight and tomorrow so no stitching for me until Sunday...
