I can’t believe it took this long to post one of my favourite buns, the simple low bun.

This elegant style is an easy everyday look. It’s also one of my favourite formal styles. For an easy, evening hairstyle you can do yourself, a simple bun is your go-to style. It always looks chic and goes with any outfit.

Accessorise with simple button earrings or wear longer chandelier style earrings for a glam finish.

Changing your hair colour affects more than just your locks. You need to consider changing your wardrobe and makeup too. I asked one of my favourite redheads, Sara-May of Makeup Utopia for her tips on choosing the best lipsticks for redheads.

Whether you were born a redhead, or have decided to take the plunge into the world of fiery locks, it can be hard to know which lipsticks are going to complement such a bold hair colour. As a natural redhead and self-proclaimed makeup aficionado, I wanted to share with you what I believe are the 5 essential lipsticks for every redhead.

1. The Perfect Nude

There are many nude lipsticks on the market, and most of them have strong yellow undertones. For most redheads, a pink based nude is going to be more flattering.

2. The Classic Neutral

Everyone needs a great neutral lipstick that looks good with everything and is appropriate for every occasion.

Nothing beats a classic vampy red lip when you want to channel an old-school bombshell like Christina Hendricks in Mad Men.

6. The In-your-face Orange

Not for the faint hearted, but when worn with confidence a bright orange lip exudes power, and a devil-may-care attitude.

Perfect for long hair, weaving hairsticks into your bun creates a comfortable yet secure hairstyle. There is a huge range available on the market, from simple silve chopsticks, to decorative beaded hairsticks.

30 Buns in 30 Days – Day 16 – Upside Down French Braid Bun

Add some detail to the back of your bun with this French braid. Practice makes perfect with this style so practice with normal braids before trying one upside down. You don’t want to have your head upside down for too long while you’re braiding! You can finish with any type of bun that you like – a top knot, a sock bun or a braided bun.

Sydney Hair Expo came and went in a whirlwind this year! I am still recovering from the most fabulous hair-filled weekend. You know that buzz you get when you’re surrounded by passionate, creative people? It’s electric and has given me so many hair ideas.
