It Takes work basic marketing of yourself and just some common sense. Being a handyman comes easy for some people and in todays time poor society it doesn't take long for a smart , customer focussed person to establish themselves in this role.
Work your own hours, and work in areas you choose.
All this and more and you don't need someone else too do it for you. .
Yes you need transport and possibly a trailer. Yes you will need a phone and of course some tools of trade.
Now you are thinking, mmm then what I guess you would consider dropping in leaflets into local letter boxes or even worse put up a sign at the local shops, YES correct and it works the general public like the honest small business owner and usually prepared to give them a go. No need for the fancy website or radio adds just a simple yet proffesional approach to your marketing is all thats required. Its a numbers game and the more you get your name out there the better chance of getting those vital first few jobs. From there look for other opportunities like window cleaning, yard maintenance, commercial property maintenance and real estate agents.
Handy persons are multi skilled? meaning mix this with maybe pet sitting or another not quite related activity. There is plenty. Good luck and keep positive
