my lingering winter cold seems to have finally been kicked with just enough time to squeeze in a tardy show & tell of sweet valentine's finds from wishing bridge (coined after h-1's double crossing bridge under which designer lauryn chun believed was the one spot on the island where childhood wishes would come true).

wishing bridge's poetic back story definitely references the modern romantic designs composed of handmade hearts and stars which have become a signature motif of the collection. sparkling stones and leather accents intermingle with 14k gold fill and sterling silver which the self-taught designer often hand hammers into shape.

just popping in to post a quick peek of garnet hill's newly debuted lilly pulitzer home collection for all the readers who share my fondness for lovely linens. lilly's fabulous shifts may be inspired by life in luxe palm beach but the happy splashes of color and whimsical patterns will certainly appeal to islanders who swoon for that vintage modern beach cottage look.

i happened upon the sleep under stars etsy shop last week and found myself instantly charmed by the delightful paper goods line with a sweet hint of the islands. kate, the mililani girl (now based in the bay area) who launched the eco-friendly stationery last month, is a former magazine designer and based the playful designs found throughout the collection on her own watercolors and sketches (occasionally, a hand painted detail will find its way onto a card for an unexpected note of whimsy).

sleep under stars' extended 'ohana is filled with cuddly creatures reminiscent of childhood companions who, although stuffed, are always ready for a good adventure. her sweet duo, papoose and whalephanty (a hapa whale/elephant), enjoy the little delights of life in hawaii from stringing lei to popping firecrackers to scooping up crack seed at the neighborhood sweet shop.
