Yes, that's one of the questions I get asked frequently. So after some pondering I decided to make my plans more public. I decided to give you two insights into my status:

First, I will post the models I plan to make videos on next. I've decided to mark those models that I want to make a video on soon with a high priority.

Lots of new technique videos

After a recording and editing marathon, I've added lots of new technique videos. They include tessellation techniques, as well as two videos on how to prepare origami paper. A video showing some of the tessellations I folded will be up in the next 2 hours or so.

I'm a member of the origami forum at http://www.thekhans.me.uk/forum/index.php, and they pose a design challenge every month. This month (August 2009) the challenge was to submit a new design that (1) only needs up to 30 folds to be completed and (2) is inspired by a super complex model. I've never designed before, but the challenge did tempt me.
The result is my first own creation. It's an eagle that was inspired by Hung Cuong Nguyen's eagle (2008). I finished diagramming the model just now, and have made it available in the diagrams section.

I added lots of diagrams today, all of which were done by Charles Esseltine. He's also given me permission to do some videos, so in the next couple of months I'll work on one or two videos. Those would be his Dragon in Flight, and a modular that will be featured in his new book. Exciting times!

Ever wondered... ?

Ever wondered what I was up to when I went to school? Today I found my book, Augenblicke, on Google Books. I self-published it back when I was 18, and be warned: it's not great literature, and has embarrassingly many typos. I guess that comes from not letting anyone else proof-read, and possibly having read the stories too often back then. There's a couple of weird texts in there, but then again I've always been a bit weird.

Apparently I'm on the radio...

Dictionary module for Drupal

Yes, it's true! I've committed my first Drupal project. After having set up the dictionary here, I had some responses that it'd be great if they could set up such a dictionary on their Drupal page, too.

After reworking the dictionary a bit, I applied for the submission of the module, and it was accepted! See the project page at http://drupal.org/project/dictionary

And for those of you who have no idea who or what Drupal is, it's the content management system that I use for happyfolding. In other words, it's what makes this website work.

Back to the Basics

Yes, indeed, I'm going back to the basics - or rather the bases. I'm currently working on making videos for different origami bases. You can see an overview on the instructions page when restricting to basic folds. It's still a work-in-progress, but I'm hoping to cover all the most common bases some time in the future.
