Our only hope of maintaining the free America we all know and love now rests with the Senate, where unfortunately there are sixty Democrats. I'm usually the optimistic one, but I think Obama and his evil right hand man Harry Reid will get this through, the will of the people be damned.

In Obama's response, he said this:

Even after last year’s election, many insider lobbyists and partisan operatives really thought that the old formula of scare tactics, D.C. back-scratching and special-interest money would still be enough to block any idea they didn’t like. Now, they’re desperate. Because, tonight, you made it crystal clear: the old rules are changing — and the people will not be ignored.

What a bald-faced liar he is. HE is the one using the tactics he decries, and "ignoring the people" is exactly what the Democrats did last night. Honestly, this takes my breath away. Could we possibly be any louder? Attract any more attention, I mean legally? Our only recourse is to get rid of as much liberal scum as we can in 2010. Hopefully we will not have gone up in a mushroom cloud before then due to our man-child president's pathetic foreign policy...but I digress. Boy, am I glad church is this morning. I certainly need some spiritual comfort right now.

JASmius adds: He also said:

“I’m absolutely confident we’ll get this thing done,” Obama told the group. “And when I’m in the Rose Garden signing a piece of legislation to give health care to all Americans, we’ll look back and say that was our finest moment.”

Except, of course, that he'll be TAKING AWAY health care FROM all Americans to heard us into the cattlecars of government "exchanges". More "audacity of hope," I guess.

Yeah, it's hard to get happy after that vote. You feel like it's all slipping away, never to be recovered, everything that this country has stood for and defended for 233 years going up in smoke.

And yet....Crazy Nancy also rammed through cripple & tax back in the summer, and it's dying in the Senate, doomed by the divisions it bred in the Senate Dem caucus. The same is true of BarryCare, where now even the most bold Donk optimists are admitting won't see any movement until after the State of the Union show, if then. That's always where this monstrosity was going to be stopped. If it could have been shot down in the House, that would have been gravy.

Exit quote from Eeyore: "Take heart, righties: Reid is incompetent, which makes the likelihood of sixty votes in the Senate, especially after a vote this narrow, very slim indeed."

The GOP trounced Democrats in two states that Barack Obama won big just one year ago. Obama beat McCain in Virginia by six points; Bob McDonnell won it by seventeen. Republicans swept the statewide offices, reversing Democratic gains made over the last few election cycles, and are set to take at least a half-dozen Democratic seats in the legislature. It should be remembered that the current governor of Virginia, Tim Kaine, is also the Democratic Party chair, put there in part to consolidate Democratic gains in his state.

In New Jersey, the news is even worse. Chris Christie beat Jon Corzine by four points in a state that went for Obama by fifteen points — and where a Republican hadn’t won in over ten years. Unlike Virginia, Obama campaigned heavily for Corzine, calling him his “partner” and putting his prestige on the line. Joe Biden made a couple of campaign appearances, too, and the White House supervised the campaign in the final weeks after Corzine initially fell behind. Obama made the argument for Corzine all about Obama — and New Jersey, one of the bluest states in the nation, rejected him.

The lesson (if Dems were willing to learn it, which they won't be)? State elections certainly are influenced by local issues and the respective candidates' strengths and weaknesses. But the part of the field (to employ a football analogy) on which the campaign is waged is a function of the national political backdrop.

Four years ago Bob McDonnell and Creigh Deeds went head to head for the Virginia attorney-generalship against the backdrop of the Bush Administration's perceived failure in handling the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. As no less an authority than Rahm Emanuel argued at the time, that made for a very Donk-friendly atmosphere in which the 2005 races in Virginia and New Jersey were waged. And, sure enough, the Democrat gubernatorial candidates - Tim Kaine and Jon Korzine, respectively - were both victorious, and the first McDonnell-Deeds matchup was a dead heat that McDonnell barely pulled out. Four years later, with Red Barry's left-wing extremism on which he never campaigned in 2008 having destroyed his credibility and popularity and provoked a huge backlash, the "goal posts" moved twenty-three and nineteen "yards," respectively, toward the Dem "end zone," shortening the field for the GOP and leaving Democrats little room for maneuver. It's difficult to see that landscape changing much over the next year other than to get even worse for the Dems.

As to NY23, it appears that the last minute endorsement of Democrat Bill Owens by the erstwhile "Republican" Dede "The Blob" Scozzafava, was enough to nudge him past conservative Doug Hoffman. Call it "Dede's revenge" if you like, and it'd be bitterly ironic if Owens ended up being the deciding vote in favor of BarryCare (You can take his vow to oppose it with a grain of salt the size of the Obama-Chrysler building), but with Blob out of the way, the decks will be clear to take that seat, along with dozens of others, back next November.

President Barack Obama’s economic recovery program saved 935 jobs at the Southwest Georgia Community Action Council, an impressive success story for the stimulus plan. Trouble is, only 508 people work there.

The Georgia nonprofit’s inflated job count is among persisting errors in the government’s latest effort to measure the effect of the $787 billion stimulus plan despite White House promises last week that the new data would undergo an “extensive review” to root out errors discovered in an earlier report.

About two-thirds of the 14,506 jobs claimed to be saved under one federal office, the Administration for Children and Families at Health and Human Services, actually weren’t saved at all, according to a review of the latest data by The Associated Press. Instead, that figure includes more than 9,300 existing employees in hundreds of local agencies who received pay raises and benefits and whose jobs weren’t saved.

Wow. Good thing I received a 1% raise this year, or according to Godbama I wouldn't have a job anymore. Other than they one I keep going to every day, anyway.

No, they're not kidding:

But officials defended the practice of counting raises as saved jobs.

“If I give you a raise, it is going to save a portion of your job,” HHS spokesman Luis Rosero said.

A "portion"? How do you save part of a job? How does a government-subsidized raise equate to enough hours to qualify as full-time, which is the only way I can fathom how such a so-called metric could possibly be defined?

The closest thing to a responsive Obamunist answer? They have to MSU to offset "undercounting".

I swear, I wish I were making this up:

Ed DeSeve, who oversees the stimulus at the White House, said the Head Start numbers “represent a few percent of all jobs reported” and said the problems would probably be balanced out by other errors that underreported jobs.

And no, the "saving" of jobs that never existed in the first place isn't isolated to Georgia:

More than $4.7 million in federal stimulus aid so far has been funneled to schools in North Chicago, and state and federal officials say that money has saved the jobs of 473 teachers.

Problem is, the district employs only 290 teachers. …

The Obama administration last week released the first round of data designed to underpin the worthiness of its economic stimulus plan, which so far has directed $1.25 billion to Illinois schools. That money has helped save or create 14,330 school jobs in the state, the administration claimed.

But those statistics, compiled initially by the Illinois State Board of Education, appear riddled with anomalies that raise questions about their validity, according to a Tribune analysis of district-by-district stimulus spending and other state data. Many local school officials were perplexed by the stimulus data attributed to their districts.

In the official report, Wilmette Public Schools District 39 was credited with 166 jobs saved by stimulus aid. Superintendent Raymond Lechner said the number should be zero.

At Dolton-Riverdale School District 148, stimulus funds were said to have saved the equivalent of 382 full-time teaching jobs — 142 more than the district actually has.

A similar discrepancy was found in data for Kankakee School District 111, where the stimulus report logged the equivalent of 665 full-time jobs saved. “That’s impossible,” a top Kankakee school official said, adding that the entire payroll — full and part time — is 600 workers.

This serial fraud is so blatant that I'm coming to believe, especially in light of Tuesday's election results, that the 112th Congress is going to cut off the funding spigot for Hogzilla as its first order of business by big enough margins to override an Obama veto. You can count on this nonsense being high on the GOP "JOBS JOBS JOBS JOBS JOBS JOBS JOBS" 2010 campaign agenda.

~ ~ ~

Sodomarriage bites the dust - for the thirty-first time:

The stars seemed aligned for supporters of gay marriage. They had Maine’s governor, legislative leaders and major newspapers on their side, plus a huge edge in campaign funding. So losing a landmark referendum was a devastating blow, for activists in Maine and nationwide.

In an election that had been billed for weeks as too close to call, Maine’s often unpredictable voters repealed a state law Tuesday that would have allowed same-sex couples to wed. Gay marriage has now lost in all 31 states in which it has been put to a popular vote — a trend that the gay-rights movement had believed it could end in Maine.

“Today’s heartbreaking defeat unfortunately shows that lies and fear can still win at the ballot box,” said Rea Carey, executive director of the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force.

With 87 percent of the precincts reporting, gay-marriage foes had 53% of the vote. They prevailed in many of Maine’s far-flung small towns and lost by a less-than-expected margin in the state’s biggest city, Portland.

“The institution of marriage has been preserved in Maine and across the nation,” declared Frank Schubert, chief organizer for the winning side.

Why did the lavender lobby lose yet again? I'll tell you why: They will not give up their "cause"'s biggest in-your-face liability - insisting upon using the word "marriage" and thereby DEMANDING that society acknowledge the moral equivalence of sodomarriage to REAL marriage.

How do they get around that stubborn obstacle? By being, um, less stubborn about it:

As far as protecting the “institution of marriage,” though, the states gave up on that decades ago with no-fault divorce. Marriage is the only contract that one partner can abrogate without penalty. People would be better protected by partnership contracts, where property and child access would be decided and agreed long before problems appeared in the relationship, and leave marriage to the churches, which are much better suited to protect the institution.

That is, in essence, what the Washington Legislature did this year when it passed what became dubbed the "Everything But Marriage" Act. It established LEGAL equivalence between traditional marriage and sodomarriage - essentially, everything that the Maine referendum and Prop 8 and every other failed overt queer subversion of marriage around the country has sought to do - with the lone difference that it does not use the term "marriage".

It was put before Evergreen State voters as well - and approved by the same margin by which the sodomarriage measure was defeated in Maine. Which simply reflects, particularly in deep "blue" states, that (regrettably) most of the public is libertarianly fine with "civil unions" and other "sodomarriage-in-everything-but-name" dodges, as long as the full reality of what these statutes actually mean does not, like the proverbial elephant in the birdcage, have to be overtly acknowledged.

Homosexuals can have everything of substance that they want from mainstream society at the lone cost of the pagan symbolism they crave. Seems like letting go of that one little word would be worth the vast return if "civil rights" is truly all with which they are concerned.

~ ~ ~

Look who gave the "not a news organization" network a full eleven minute interview to try and dolefully spin Tuesday's electoral disaster. Then look at how THE Obama-approved news outlet ran a rerun of Olbermann's spittle-spewing hatemongering in lieu of ELECTION NIGHT COVERAGE.

I remember well David Brinkley snapping his pencil in half and storming off the ABC set on Election Night 1994. But at least he was still doing his job (sort of). I guess the ObamaHouse party line is that if MSNBC doesn't cover something - like a huge GOP sweep - it never happened. Which suggests that Olby's dad is going to have quite a few hospital stays over the next three years.

Dear Newsmax Reader:

A political earthquake is under way in America!

Your support for us has had a dramatic effect. Americans are waking up to the dangers posed by Obamacare and President Obama's other radical plans.

Dick Morris, the chief strategist for the League of American Voters, says we definitely can defeat Obamacare.

But we must fight hard, as our opponents will play every dirty trick in the book to win.

Please read Dick's urgent message below and also take a moment to see Dick's new TV ad for the League, which is targeted to young voters, the only major demographic group now backing Obamacare.

See the ad and donate — Go Here Now

Bob Adams
Executive Director

Urgent Message From Dick Morris

DEFEATING OBAMACARE: Our Moment Arrives

Dear Friend,

Please do not fall for the liberal propaganda that healthcare "reform" is inevitable and will certainly pass! It can be defeated!

The key is to trigger the same backlash among under-30 voters that already materialized among the elderly.

We have produced a new 30-second ad that is aimed at the younger voters and need funds to run it in all the swing states. We then poll in each of these states to show the senators and Congress how strongly their constituents oppose the Obama bill. We also be all over the Internet, Facebook, Twitter, and all forms of social Internet media pressing the message.

Our attack focuses on the fact that the uninsured will have to pay a tax of $1,000 each if they won't buy insurance and will have to pay 8-12 percent of their income to get the insurance. We also zero in on taxes on pacemakers and other medical equipment and on how the plan will force up family health insurance premiums by $1,700 per family.

It is a great campaign, but we need funds to get it across. We have raised
$2.6 million so far and have used it to great effect, moving seniors against the bill in huge numbers. Now we need to put on a comparable campaign aimed at the young.

And we have a few weeks before the bills will be voted upon in each house.

Please give us funds now! As much as you can! $1,000 checks are appreciated and, of course, anything smaller is welcome, too.

Click here to watch the new ad and to make a donatation to help run it in all swing states!

Your healthcare and mine are on the line. This is our last and best chance to stop it from being eviscerated by Obama!

Yours,

Dear Policy Patriots -

Thank you for joining 1.34 million of Americans in your support of the Free Our Health Care NOW! petition against government-run health care.

The Worst Bill Ever! Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi sent her version of health care reform to the House last week. The Wall Street Journal pulled no punches in "The Worst Bill Ever," its sharply critical assessment of Pelosi's proposals in which it decried the bill as possibly being "the worst piece of post-New Deal legislation ever introduced." We couldn't have said it better.

We've identified 8 REASONS why the Wall Street Journal's assessment is spot-on. If you agree, we urge you to TAKE ACTION. You can join us in the fight against the worst bill ever. Tell your representatives to JUST SAY NO!

The Affordable Health Care for America Act will cost upwards of $2 trillion over 10 years. Ms. Pelosi promised $829 billion. Initial Congressional Budget Office (CBO) figures suggested $1.055 trillion. However, these estimates assume that:

Doctors accept more than 20% cuts in Medicare payments for their services.

Middle-class Americans accept an arbitrary distribution of benefits.

Congress 'finds' additional funding in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020.

The budgetary reality is, however, that these assumptions won't materialize and, instead, costs will rise beyond CBO expectations, racing towards $2 trillion.

The Affordable Health Care for America Act is a government-takeover of the U.S. health care system. Under Pelosi's plan, the federal government will tell you what insurance you have to buy, where you have to buy it and what you will pay. If you refuse to purchase government-approved insurance, the government will assess a penalty tax on 2.5% of your income. If you don't pay the fine, you could go to jail.

The Affordable Health Care for America Act will force millions from their current insurance plans. Despite President Obama's frequent promise that "you can keep your current plan, if you like it," that won't be true. These Americans will be forced from their current coverage into to Medicaid, where rationing-by-waiting already exists, or into a health insurance exchange where health plans will have an economic incentive to under-provide to the sick.

FIGHT BACK! Clearly, Pelosi's 'solution' to the health care crisis isn't a solution. Fortunately, you can fight back: click on the link below and send a letter to Congress. Tell your Reps to JUST SAY NO!

Still not convinced that you should act? Consider this:

The Affordable Health Care for America Act will result in higher health care spending, despite President Obama's promises to control costs. At present, the unfunded liability for Medicare is currently $37 trillion over the next 75 years and the combined unfunded liability of Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid is estimated at $107 trillion, roughly 7 times the size of the U.S. economy. By creating yet another massive entitlement program, Pelosi's proposal will dramatically expand the federal deficit and significantly increase the size of the burden of the federal government's unfunded liabilities.

The Affordable Health Care for America Act will lower the quality of care for millions of Americans. Pelosi's pitch will force millions of Americans out of good health insurance plans and into inferior plans.

The Affordable Health Care for America Act will specifically target Medicare funding. Pelosi's plan will steal $426 billion from future Medicare spending as well as immediately taking $170 billion from Medicare Advantage, a program that currently gives 20% of America's seniors private insurance options.

FIGHT BACK! Most Americans don't want the stuff Pelosi is peddling. In fact, Congressional liberals have taken a desperate gamble: attempting to push their legislation through before public opinion turns completely against them. Incredibly, they're committed to a 'before we're run out of town on a rail' form of governing. You don't have to put up with this! Click on the link below and send a letter to Congress. Tell your Reps to JUST SAY NO!

Still don't believe that you should take action? Think about this:

The Affordable Health Care for America Act will increase taxes on businesses and punish economic growth. Pelosi's proposal will raise $572 billion in new taxes, the lion's share of the burden falling disproportionately on small businesses. What's more, if these businesses fail to pay at least 72.5% of their workers' insurance premiums, the federal government will hit them with an additional 8% payroll tax. The result of these new taxes will be to constrict job creation and slow economic growth.

The Affordable Health Care for America Act will 'tax' states. Pelosi's bill will create a joint state-federal program which would force state lawmakers to assume $34 billion in new spending, despite the fact that no state can easily afford it and several states-New York and California, for instance-have budgets that are already awash in red ink.

FIGHT BACK! We don't want this and neither should you. The American people deserve better and we're fighting to see that they get it. Join in the fight! Click on the link below and send a letter to Congress. Tell your Reps to JUST SAY NO!

Thank you again for your support of the "Free Our Health Care NOW!" and for fighting against government-run health care. This is a fight worth fighting!

Warm regards,
