I am drawn to unique designs for those who like to ride more than 1 hour at a time. Big Bear introduced this bagger back in November and I must say ... it does kick butt and take names. It is a super long chassis ... pushing the passenger up in front of that giant 300 rear tire.

For me ... it's the bags that make it. They styled this thing so that the bags don't look like two sampsonite suitcases strapped on the side. I don't know how comfortable it would really be ... I'm sure I could never sit on one. But the builders claim that lowering the bikes center of gravity would make it handle and ride better. I don't know about that.

The price tag ... about 37g's

it does look cool, though

hg

Holy Moly. I found this (I know it's a month late) today on MotorcycleUSA's site. It's one of the newest production models from OCC ... that's Orange County Choppers for those of you who have been under a rock for the last few years. They unveiled their one and only bagger ... and oh how sweet it looks. Powered by S&S's X-Wedge ... with a twist ... it's rubber mounted.

It's a sweet looking ride. I love the exhaust coming out under the bags. Don't really know the purpose of that large hole in the seat ... drain hole for rain water? ... tailbone extension? ... human gas relief depository? ... come on ... you know it's happened to you!! You're riding after a lunch full of riblets ... bouncing down the road and a little gas need to come out ... the hole would allow you not to have to lean curiously over in the seat while keeping the bike upright. I'm sure that the hole was Mikey's design contribution ... he's always thinking.

This baby will probably retail for over 40 grand. But, you would have an OCC bagger. It would be way better than a Benz, Lexard, or any other crappy cage.

Article link.

The Teutel's RULE.

HG --

I love this list. First it was a great marketing deal for Ride Texas Magazine. Kudos to whomever came up with this "hallmark" approach. Here's the link to the pdf of the winners.

Every year I think ... I need to nominate stuff ... but then I forget. It's too bad there are not any North Texas roads on the Top 5 of the state. But ... I didn't nominate them so ... I should just blame myself.

For the life of me ... I never have figured out how Clarks Bar B Q in Tioga keeps getting on the list. I think it's more of a great ride to Tioga and that's what people remember more than the food. Living in the Tioga area and eating at Clarks many, many times ... I have to say ... their Bar B Q ain't all that great. Just my opinion. I think Clarks is a great ride destination ... but other than that ... Dickies probably has better BBQ.

But the list is fun to check out and think about making the stops listed.

HG

This a year after the Flower Mound, Texas police department did the same.

A lot of cities in Texas are looking at scaling back or eliminating motorcycle squads. Some say they are ... "too dangerous." I certainly understand why police departments are looking at this ... but in perspective ... don't officers get hurt in cars also. I think about the deaths of many officers in the exploding Crown Vics.

News reports say that the Lewisville motorcycle officers are not at all happy about their departments decision to 86 their bikes.
In a recent British poll it seems that brits would rather have Angelina Jolie on their pillion (seat behind the main seat) than Playboy centerfolds. Maybe it's because she is cycle savvy since she owns and rides on her own. Of course who is to say that she would ride on the back of anyone else's bike accept Brads ... I think I have a photo of them riding together on one of my past posts ... probably more than a year ago.

Here she is on a the set of a Paramount picture ... where she is also sporting a 9mm or a .45 .... eeeeooww.
Well, I told you that I would start with the motorcycle 'only' stuff on this blog again ... and by george ... I did. The first rattle out of the back is this. Honda is taking their Goldwing and VTX production out of Ohio ... busting a lot of people out of work. That's really not what I wanted to hear ... since I just bought a wing ... not too many months ago.

The news just hit the wire yesterday. Not only will production workers lose their jobs ... but people in the Ohio area who produce specific products for the Goldwings and VTX will also take a huge hit.

Bad deal, Honda.
