Page titles, and meta tags

2. Page layout, theme, and keywords (similar keywords) placement

3. Image alt tags descriptions

4. Links, placement, and their description

5. h1, h2, and h3 tags

6. Code to text ratio, e.g. minimizing JavaScript, and CSS embedded into pages

7.Tracking traffic sources & keywords with Google Analytics

8. Back linking strategy

9. On-going content development

10. HTML & XML sitemaps & maintenance
</lo>
This is just the basic ten I call them, and once you have these Search Engine Optimization basics down, you are well on your way to top Search Engine Rankings for your site's pages.

DEDICATED IP & 404 ERROR HANDLING

One last thought, and just for mentions sake, you will also want to take things into consideration like having a dedicated "IP" address, and 404 error handling too, because every little bit helps with your Search Engine Rankings over the long run.

Remember; Search Engine Optimization is a marathon, not a sprint, and takes a consist ant online marketing strategy like any other advertising campaign does over time to bring in the targeted clients, and prospects your business is seeking.

So stick to the basic ten, be consistent, and reap the rewards of top rankings over time.

Harry Fassett - Founder of Amazines.com has been working in the webhosting, and Search Engine Marketing industry since 1995. So with that said...

Getting a good page ranking "PR", and higher listing in
Google is more of a process of building quality "back links"
over time to your website, i.e. off the page factor.

What is a quality back link?

A quality back link has three main factors:

1. Quality of the content from the site linking to your website.

2. The "PR" (page rank) of the link back page.

3. The way the link, or link backs are displayed, and how.

Some "SEO's" even look at Alexa ratings of the link back page,
and they do help give you an overall picture of the site's
popularity in it's category, but not the complete picture,
because Alexa rankings are subject to inaccuracy.

With that said...

Develop a daily process of finding quality link backs to
your hopefully already optimized webpages, and focus on the
process, not the result, and be consistent. Simple as that.

Next post will discuss: How to develop your own quality
"link backs" with articles. So stay tuned!
www.harryfassett.com
