Sebastian, Florida is well known for many reason.  To the biker, it’s Earl’s Hide a way.  Earls is located right on the river and one of the best views.  Sebastian itself is a picturesque location, throw in some visiting bikers, a great sunset and you have the perfect makings for great photography.

I caught up with Maine Biker, and Drop Zone Owner, Fred Cotreau and his custom chopper for some a sunset photo session full of color.  Fred is a hardcore biker, iron worker, skydiver, and overall tough guy and that’s what I was out to capture in this shoot.

Coming down from the great white north this time of year, Fred was all about creating something to remember, his Florida Vacation.  Over a couple of beers we came up with some ideas and then just had some fun shooting and documenting some of the great weather and good times, Sebastian, Florida has to offer.  Once the ride is over it’s back to the frozen forest of Maine with only the photos to jog the memory of warmth, forever sunsets and good times at Earl’s Hide A Way!

Leslie McGurik is one amazing women.  Many have not heard her name.  I was lucky enough to get to spend some time with her, here her story and dive into years of work, products, ideas and stories.  I was lucky enough to catch up with her for a presentation on her work, especially “If Rocks Could Sing.”  The place was packed.  Recently her focus and work is making a huge impact on the U.S.  There is no end in sight for this women’s success of fun.

Leslie McGuirk is an internationally known writer and illustrator of bestselling children’s books.  Leslie is a gentle, fun, happy soul that has no bounds to her energy.  I thought I could keep up with anyone. Leslie is an outpouring of ideas, concepts and everything that is fun.  Leslie is one of those fascinating people who never grows up, meets everyone, is involved with everything and has fun doing it all.

Originally published in Japan, Leslie’s illustrations were made into over 800 products for the high-end department store Takashimaya.

Leslie’s designs have been featured on carpeting, fabric and wallpaper for Tokyo Disneyland Hotel. Her Tucker books for children have been a favourite of little ones and reviewers for over a decade.

Publishers Weekly said, “McGuirk’s ingenious characters and illustrations are filled with quirky comedy.”

Leslie has been nominated for the Children’s Choice Award, and was winner of the Platinum Oppenheim Award for the best DVDs of 2009. She has been featured in many national newspapers for best children’s book of the year.

Her latest book, Wiggens Learns His Manners, co-written with Alex Von Bidder, owner of the famous Four Seasons Restaurant, has been featured on the Martha Stewart Show, and in Town & Country Magazine and People.com

Danielle is a gorgeous subject to photograph and today it was time for her beautiful puppy Tobby!  Tobby the lovable wonderdog is a healthy, stout and strong puppy that has no end to play.  Family Portraits are not complete without Pet Portraits, just ask a dog owner!  Getting great shots of your pet in their prime is something many will cherish forever.

The river setting by her home is an amazing place and I use any reason to get on the docks, be one with the river and shoot anything I see.  This was a fun shoot and hope to do more portraits out here.  There is always time for good light and I haven’t found anyone who is unable to smile while being on the RIVER!

This was a great time and a big reunion for me.  I was able to revisit friends I haven’t seen for many years.  Amazing how beautiful your friends can actually be sometimes.

Maine’s Fall Colors make for some amazing photos.

Skydive New England is no exception.  They are one of the ONLY skydiving drop zones to advertise the fact they can give a first class Fall Leaf Expedition by way of aircraft and parachute.

Jumping this time of the year is fun.  The ground changes very fast. Throughout a single day the difference in colors are noticeable making for unique jumps and flights.

Bottom line, Skydive New England, home to many a skydiver really blossoms with color, vibrance and soul.  Home sweet home.

More skydiver portraiture with Skydive New England. T-Minus 00:01 prepares for the U.S. Nationals of Skydiving Competition.  Might as well get some nice skydiver portraiture photography before they leave.  Head shots, team shots and whatever else we can get before they take off and we wish them well.  A highly competitive team they are sure to be feared for their division.

Once the lights started to pop, it wasn’t long till we had some more volunteers.

Out of nowhere, Eric shows up to Skydive New England.  A well known Tattoo artist in the Boston area, Eric brings all the tools to go.

It was perfect timing. The weather had absolutely socked us in for over a week.  What amazed me most was not of his skill, talent or artistry, but the sheer amount of people who lined up to have very BIG pieces done.

Eric worked non-stop for over eight hours a pop.  Some pieces took three days or longer to complete.  Check out this owl tattoo he did.  Amazing.

This was done in memory of the young girls father who had passed away recently.

The bond between and human canvas and the artist is another part of the process that piqued my curiosity.  Makes sense a bond would grow.  After hours and hours and hours of setting ink into your skin and trusting the artist to do his best on this one time shot of art there is trust, commitment and labor of love in a process that lasts a lifetime.

The fall here is amazing and I am willing to bet this Fall will be more colorful and brighter then ever!  This year saw a lot more rain then last and I am told that water will help the trees turn into brighter colors then last year.

The towns around here are more then picturesque.  From Portsmouth to Rochester the location shoots are unreal.  Kittery has some incredible beaches and bridges.  Way too many locations to choose from.

I am booking fast and leaving at the end of October for another crazy life adventure.  Book soon, tell your friends.
