Breaking Boards

noreply@blogger.com (After Hours) — Sun, 03 Jun 2012 01:32:00 +0000

You know what's cool about my kids? THEY KICK ASS!!!

Ava received an award for doing her cota.

Liv too received the award for performing well.

Ava attempted to break the board with her fist.

But managed to get the job done with her foot.

Liv had no problem breaking that board with her fist. KIYA!!!!!

A well deserved smile.

Great job girls!!!

My Birthday #38

noreply@blogger.com (After Hours) — Mon, 21 May 2012 01:39:00 +0000

This year I turned 26- AGAIN!!!! Okay so maybe those just happened to be the two candles we had but it was sure better than 62!

After my party the girls built and shot off a rocket they won from science week. Ava had guess the right amount of swedish fish in a bowl (she guessed 763 but there was 768.. being the closest guesser) and she won this rocket kit.

And me and my hombre took a siesta. AHHHH!

He slept like a baby.

And then he woke up and we played. Nice birthday. Hope to turn 26 again next year.

Random May Moments

noreply@blogger.com (After Hours) — Mon, 14 May 2012 22:41:00 +0000

So these are some random May moments. I have finally gotten around to pulling off all 400+ pictures off my phone and these are the last to share.

The new attire someone special will be wearing to his next A's game. You can see for yourself he LOVES it.

The girls made a friend during science week.

This was the day we were all sick. It hit me in the morning. Dave stayed home to take care of the kids, to get them to school, and Ava's filed trip. He got sick seconds before leaving. The kids seemed fine until they got home from their respective places. Within an hour they were throwing up too. Good times.

This was a gift from a friend. It is size 18 months and has not been washed. My nine month old is a giant.

He who control the remote wins---> WINNING!

Ava geared up for her friend's party in a castle in the park yesterday.

While she was playing princess and running around Olivia and Nick were catching crawfish with hot dogs. They were loving it. When Ava's party ended all the kids fished, rode the rides, had lunch, and fished some more.

Casting & Riding

noreply@blogger.com (After Hours) — Sun, 13 May 2012 22:31:00 +0000

They really mean it when they say teach a man to fish and he can feed himself.

Last weekend we took the girls to the marina so Olivia could try to ride her big bike without the training wheels. It took one try and she was cruising the parking lot. Smiling from ear to ear, that little girl was racing.

When I had first mentioned to Dave that it was time to remove the training wheels he was very hesitant. I kept saying she is now tall enough to almost touch the ground. I think she has a 16in bike or a 20in.. Whatever it is it is tall. Liv too felt she was ready. What was the worst that can happen I had told her.. You decided you want the wheels back on and we put them on. No biggie.

Ha. She didn't need them. Nor did she need to be over protected.

So after the riding we took the kids fishing. Ava sat next to me and Liv sat next to Dave and we fished off of opposite sides of the Pier. With Ava I casted out her pole and walked away. She told me she needed to reel it and and cast it out herself. Okay with me... it was her pole... I told her how to hold the button and when to throw it out. So she casted that pole right out there and wham. Her bobber hit the water right next to mine. After that she practiced the rest of the day. Ava can now fish for herself.

And then there's camp David. Olivia wasn't so lucky. She was micromanaged from every angle and angry she didn't get to cast her pole out herself. After listening to those two go at it I said to Dave that it was HER pole and maybe she should do what she wants with it. Go figure after a few short tries she was casting her fishing pole by herself and then taught some boys who came by too.

Curls

noreply@blogger.com (After Hours) — Sun, 13 May 2012 22:13:00 +0000

Liv wanted curls so we did up her hair in pink spongy curlers.

And this was the result...

A magnitude of pretty little curls.

Goofy Girls

noreply@blogger.com (After Hours) — Sat, 12 May 2012 19:18:00 +0000

Like always the girls have had several birthday parties to attend... to be quite honest I am literally sick of it and wish all the rest of the kids this school year skip their birthdays. Sounds harsh right? Every freakin' Saturday there is another party. Yuck. But here are the highlights from a few of them:

Olivia killing the pinata...

Ava became a cowgirl after riding the horse at Juli's and talking to the cowboy (horse owner).

Ava at a different party jumping with her friends.

Ava's collection of bugs from the pinata.

Mother's Day Tea

noreply@blogger.com (After Hours) — Fri, 11 May 2012 21:59:00 +0000

Miss Ava served me lunch at her school for Mother's Day. It was wonderful to be with her and share the moment with her without having to bring the baby and have him grasping at the food. Rachael kindly watched him for me and picked up Olivia from school.

Here we are celebrating together- me and my cakearoonies.

These are the flowers Ava gave to Karen for teacher appreciation week. She used them for the Mother's day party and Ava was so pleased.

All the kids said a poem together to us.

Ava practicing her waitress skills.

Fruit kabobs- Yummy!

Cookies!!

The finished product.

And the angel who gave me a beautiful present, a heart necklace she made herself. What an awesome day!

Silly Gavaroonie

Phew! What stinks?

Hehhee.. It was me!

Yeah, I'm pretty funny..

I'm a sneaky little devil.

How I imagine Gavin on his first roller coaster.

Can we go again?

Spoke Too Soon

noreply@blogger.com (After Hours) — Sun, 06 May 2012 00:13:00 +0000

Snaggletooth popped out yet another tooth last night. Not knowing she had any more loose teeth the tooth fairy was caught off guard and without the usual gold dollar and silver dollar. But you know what's great about kids... they think four coins are better than two. So when Liv woke up to find four quarters under her pillow imagine the shrieks of "hooray" that flooded the halls.

Oh to be six again... and totally naive.

Yip, that's the new jack o'lantern face.. ready for Halloween.

More Teeth!

noreply@blogger.com (After Hours) — Wed, 02 May 2012 04:48:00 +0000

On Sunday, April 29th, Olivia pulled out her first top tooth. From that minute forward she smiled. Beamed rather. She couldn't wait for the tooth fairy to arrive and she did bringing Liv a gold dollar and a silver dollar. She was rich! She ran to school and showed off her gaping hole to all of her friends...

Boy is she a little stinker... she's not the only one.

Gavin for the last week had been pulling at his ears and he was getting a tooth as well. It had cut through on the top awhile ago but it was still dropping down. I figured the ears were sore from that. But then he didn't stop rubbing or pulling so then I thought he probably had an ear infection. I called the hospital for an appointment but apparently you can't get sick on a Sunday after 1PM because they aren't open. Ooops. Thankfully he had a well-baby appt. scheduled for Tuesday, so we were just going to have to grin and bear his fussiness another few days and lack of sleep and then hopefully get his issues resolved.

Sounds easy doesn't it?

Well Maybe if in the wee early morning of Monday I didn't throw up it would have been. Dave feeling bad himself decided to stay home and help me since Liv had to go to school, Ava had a field trip to the farm, karate, and my back was killing me from barfing. Sounds like things are progressing a little better on the brighter side of things the help from Dave? Not when I heard Dave wretch and throw up right before taking Liv to school. Yea us.

I jumped out of bed and got Liv in the truck and took her to school. Thankfully one less kid to deal with for awhile. On my way back Dave had the other two packed in the other truck and they were headed to the farm. I offered for him to leave the baby but he said it would be fine. And it was. They all had a great field trip. Liv was worried we were too sick to pick her back up at school but alas she was picked up right on time. Dave and I were feeling better...

And then n hour later Ava barfs and barfs and barfs... with diarrhea. Yea us. So she is taken care of and Dave gets Olivia ready for karate who now is melting down that Ava gets to stay home. REALLY?? You are jealous of your sister puking? For the love of God please go to karate and behave yourself!

So she goes and whines the whole time about not feeling well. Neither of us believe her because she doesn't exactly tell the truth all the time. So Dave calls me and we discuss it and she is staying and going to finish, oh look at that she puked. Of course... but Liv can make herself puke on key so we still think she is faking it but Dave brings her home all the while scolding her for her behavior. Then two minutes after she gets home she pukes the entire night on. Guess she wasn't lying this time. Ooops. What horrible parents we are. But that is the lesson learned to tell truth so we can believe her... We'll see later if that theory sticks.

Somehow by midnight no one is puking any longer. People are sleeping everywhere.. or shall I say wherever they last threw up. One dog slept in our bed under the sheets. It was like a fun house at a really bad carnival.

The saving grace- Gavin did not get this virus. But what he got was another shiny little tooth poking right out of the top of his gum. Tooth number 4, welcome to the family...

Today is Tuesday, the day he had to make it to to get to his appointment. We made there, of course his ears were fine today, no rubbing, no pulling, and no ear infections. Just a tiny shiny new tooth today.

We can all sleep peacefully tonight. *Sigh*

Gavin Time

noreply@blogger.com (After Hours) — Tue, 01 May 2012 20:30:00 +0000

Gavin roughing up Elmo.

Gavin using his Star Wars fishing pole for the first time in May.

Gavin's first time crawling on April 14.

The big moose takes up the whole tub.

And he laughs about it.

This is our time for reference. When Gavin lays back he fills the entire thing up. It is hilarious.

Ava's Farm Trip

noreply@blogger.com (After Hours) — Tue, 24 Apr 2012 20:08:00 +0000

My farm girl went on a school field trip.

This is her best friend.

These are her other best friends- worms.

The bouquet Ava picket for me. My sweet girl.

Barn song and dance.

Besties with the hugs... and it's a boy. Usually Ava won't sit next to a boy.

Crushing corn for the birds.

And petting and holding the baby chicks, the best part of the day.

Rollie Fingers Bobblehead day

noreply@blogger.com (After Hours) — Sat, 21 Apr 2012 23:38:00 +0000

Gavin was gearing up for the big game. His first baseball game and bobblehead day.

We sat in the shade until the game started since our tickets were so close to the field we didn't want to get sunburned.

My man and I hung out until the sun went down clapping like crazy when the players were being introduced.

You know what happens when you have great seats... you win great prizes. The kids all received free Oakland Zoo tickets and zoo hats as well getting their picture taken with Stomper.

Ava turned back to give him a high five.

And here they are winning their tickets on the jumbotron.

Great day all around. Free tickets to the game, free parking pass, two free t-shirts for Dave and I and the kids had a ball. Couldn't have asked for a better day.

Crawling

noreply@blogger.com (After Hours) — Fri, 13 Apr 2012 22:08:00 +0000

Today, Friday the 13th, my baby crawled forward on the floor for the first time. Gavin's been going backwards and in circles getting everywhere he wants to go for awhile now but today he saw something Olivia had and he wanted it. He crawled forward and lunged on her Leapster. It was a little startling for Liv but she was just as excited yelling to me, "Mommy, Mommy, Gavin can crawl!" Yip he sure can. He's a cool little dude.

Easter

noreply@blogger.com (After Hours) — Sun, 08 Apr 2012 22:10:00 +0000

Easter, we practiced for the hunt several weeks in a row... The girls were so excited checked the window every morning when they would wake up to see if the eggs had yet been dropped on our back lawn. Finally the day was here. The Easter Bunny came and he was good this year. Or was it the kids? Not really sure... There's a lot of pictures so I'm leaving descriptions off.

After the big bash at home we headed to Juli's for another party. More pictures with some descriptions.

Liv getting to ride the horse.

Ava chatting up the cowboy.

And away she goes.

Ava's looking to see how far down it really is.

Dave the baby whisperer. This other baby is 3 months old and was crying. Dave picked him up and he quieted down. Gavin on the other hand isn't too happy with sharing.

Sooo Happy!

And the finally hunt for eggs this year.

Appropriately there was a bunny there!

Gavin got his first taste at pulling out bunny fur.

Easter Eggstravaganza 2012

noreply@blogger.com (After Hours) — Sat, 07 Apr 2012 23:16:00 +0000

Gearing up for the hunt...

Wearing their bunny ears and feeling proud and hopeful.

Gavin's first collection of eggs. He picked up 4 eggs with help from mom and he was a winner!

Ava is picking the best eggs ever...

Their loot!

After the hunt, the kids ate hot dogs, cotton candy, cookies, pop corn, played in the petting zoo, and made some crafts.

Ready to head home and examine the candy and the new bunnies. Ava won the brown bunny and Gavin won the big blue bunnies.

Gavin liked his new bunny.

He even roughed it up a bit.

And then threw it aside in favor of a truck.

Here's a few extra pictures I found of the easter egg hunt. Here;s Gavin just sitting by the eggs.

The collector.

The finder.

The squeezer of the fowl.

The bunny lover.

He who eats plastic eggs meant for Olivia school. I'm sure they appreciated a little bit of drool with the candy inside. Hehehe.

Bath Time From Gavin's View

noreply@blogger.com (After Hours) — Mon, 02 Apr 2012 01:18:00 +0000

Heard I'm headin' to the tub. So excited I can hardly contain myself.

Oh they want to take my before picture. I'll smile real cute for mommy.

Uh oh, what's that? Somebody puked by my foot.

"Daddy, the puke- it got my foot."

Oh much better. "Thank you Daddy. You're a genius."

Here's a close up for you mommy..

Sorry no pictures here mommy. I draw the line.

First Hunt of Spring

noreply@blogger.com (After Hours) — Mon, 02 Apr 2012 01:08:00 +0000

The race was on. Ava and Olivia went crazy running around collecting eggs.

And it paid off. In the eggs both girls received a ticket for a prize to claim. Ava won a big basket and Liv won a small basket but traded for a chocolate bunny.

Even the little tyke came out with some swag. He was given a bucket and toys.

While the girls collected eggs Gavin played in the ball pit. He liked it but was questioning the others who wanted in on his party.

There was also a great photo op with the bunny and Gavin just couldn't wrap his head around why his head was so big.

But he was pretty cool anyway.

He Stands!!

noreply@blogger.com (After Hours) — Thu, 29 Mar 2012 17:11:00 +0000

Look what I found in the crib today!!! He stands... and doesn't like it at all. He got a little freaked out that he was standing and started to cry but when he saw Ava come in to rescue him he smiled like usual.

Here he is looking manly.

Gavinating

noreply@blogger.com (After Hours) — Thu, 29 Mar 2012 17:08:00 +0000

If Gavin isn't under the couch.... where he seems to end up most often...

Then he's on top of the couch riding the dog.

See how excited lady is to have 21 extra pounds of weigh of her... hahaha- that's what she gets for getting on my couch!
