The successful candidate for this Merchandising Manager position will have significant and successful experience in an e-commerce website and retail business.  The position reports to the CEO (to start until a VP of Marketing is hired) and is the first Merchandising Manager position in the company.  It is the opportunity to have a positive and significant impact on this high-growth start-up company. 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
�	Set strategy and direction for online inventory of high-end customizable jewelry.
.
�	Identify gaps in current inventory offering.

�	Identify market opportunities based on current fashion trends that fit with our capabilities and target market.

�	Provide input to design manager on what types and categories of design are needed from our network of designers.

�	Provide input to fulfillment on gem fashion trends.

�	Work closely with user experience engineering to showcase our designs in the best possible way. Responsible for influencing the customer experience for the entire line of jewelry.

�	Development of on-site campaigns including jewelry collections, testimonials, new launches and sales/promotional events.

�	Influence sales through visual placement. 
�	Liaison with other marketing employees to assure a consistent message and branding of Paragon Lake jewelry.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
�	Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate well to retailers as well as consumers.

�	Strong project and problem solving skills, with ability to manage multiple projects. 
�	Self-starter, work in a fast pace environment with the ability to manage and deliver multiple projects.
