Renowned Berliner architect Arno Brandlhuber has contributed to the capital’s urban metamorphosis and continues to envision new ways of enhancing the city’s face.

Extension Kokhuset, Trondheim.

A extension to an old building I discovered while walking around in Trondheim the other day. It is an modern extension to an old historical building (Kokhuset) from 1780, by the swiss architect August Schmidt. The extensions to the architects home, mostly done by the architect himself, was built using a traditional massive construction technique in wood called “Sleppvegg”. The walls are isolated with sheep-wool and clad with untreated pine.

I recently started reading “YES IS MORE” the archicomic by BIG. Let’s see how it turns out. BIG isn’t always my thing, but they do have some great ideas. Like “hedonistic sustainability”.
