Choose a Qualified Hypnotherapists
When choosing a hypnotherapy Sydney practitioner, you need to know that they are well trained and qualified. I am a qualified and registered clinical hypnotherapist (AHA), registered clinical psychotherapist (clinical member of PACFA College of Psychotherapy), counsellor, PACFA-registered mental health professional and trainer, (ASSERT) registered sexologist and (ANPA) registered clinical naturopath working from a naturopathic perspective in Sydney, Australia.
It is over fifty years since we started our first health clubs and I work to help people empower themselves, achieve their goals and create positive change in their lives – fast.
I trained at a post-graduate level with the National School of Hypnosis and Advanced Psychotherapy in London, UK (UKCP-recognised school) with the great Ray Keedy-Lilley who was the was the Chair of the Hypno-Psychotherapy section of the UKCP, and had been a therapist for 50 plus years when I met him. I also learnt a great deal from Michael Joseph who founded the London College of Clinical Hypnosis and initiated the formation of the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis.
My degree and doctorate were earned at the American Institute of Hypnotherapy in the USA and issued in co-ordination with the Bureau for Private Post-Secondary and Vocational Education in California (School no. 3004761). My teachers and supervisor included Dr Richard Neves and Dr Caroline Miller. I also studied at the Open University (UK), Derby University (UK), Australian Institute of Applied Sciences (AUS) and Charles Sturt University (AUS). I hold a degree in complementary medicine from Charles Sturt University. I hold advanced diploma in clinical naturopathy, nutritional medicine, medical herbalism and a degree in complementary medicine from Charles Sturt University.
Dr O’Keefe’s Work
I am a hypnotherapist, individual and couples psychotherapist, counsellor and sex therapist, practicing naturopath, medical nutritionist, orthomolecular practitioner, medical herbalist and researcher, and have taught therapy to undergraduates and teach masterclasses for post-graduate therapists.
I have presented at the World Hypnotherapy Conference (2012 & 2019) and taught hypnotherapists at both the Australian Hypnotherapists Association (AHA) and the Australian Society of Clinical Hypnotherapists (ASCH). I have also presented at the World Sexology Conference twice, the Australian and New Zealand Addiction Conference (2017), James Braid Society London and dozens of academic conferences throughout the world (since 1994) and my work is widely referenced in academia and quoted in the media.
Between 2001 to 2009 I was the editorial director for the Hypnosis Australia Online Journal for professional hypnotherapists.
I am also a registered and approved clinical supervisor with the Australian Society of Clinical Hypnotherapists (ASCH).

I have spent much of my career in advanced study, research and devising clinical processes and procedures as well as being an active practitioner who can be found working with people in my hypnosis Sydney clinic day after day. I have authored eight books, and more than 200 courses, papers and articles on hypnosis and therapy.

I practice hypnosis the same way as I did at the London Medical Centre in Harley Street, London – because it works:
