This amazing interview was part two of the teleclass we did back in December on the dangers of toxins in our environment and how they&#8217;re impacting our health.</p>
<p><span id="more-16301"></span></p>
<p>We know that toxins and chemicals are the cause of many degenerative health and emotional conditions today. <strong>But it’s not just one toxin that causes disease.</strong></p>
<p>It’s the combination and accumulation of the many different toxins found in our air, water, food, and physical environment.</p>
<p>There are <strong>simply too many toxins coming into the body and not enough toxins going out</strong>.</p>
<p>And, when the body is overwhelmed by too many toxins, its self-healing mechanisms become suppressed, causing negative health conditions to arise.</p>
<p>The level of toxic pollutants around us and their effect on our health are <strong>getting progressively worse.</strong></p>
<p>You might say that our environment is, quite literally, making us sick.</p>
<p>Let me give you an example of what I mean. <strong>Here’s an excerpt from my interview with Dr. Group. You&#8217;ll be surprised to learn what he says about the hidden toxins in our environment, including those we may even be wearing!</strong></p>
<p><strong>So, why are box spring mattresses and underwire bras so dangerous? This is what Dr. Group had to say on the subject:</strong></p>
<p><strong></strong>Anything that has wire in it can act as a receiver. They’ve even looked at the wires in women’s bras and correlated that to breast cancer. That metal wire is actually picking up, as an antenna, the harmful electromagnetic frequencies emitted by cell phone towers and electrical devices around you.</p>
<p>If you have a box spring bed, you have many coils of metal underneath your mattress.</p>
<p><strong>That can amplify a fault line that’s in the ground</strong>. Some of them are positive, and <strong>some of them emit negative frequencies;</strong> and the coils can amplify those. The metal can alter your body’s own healing mechanism and electromagnetic fields.</p>
<p>This is true especially when you sleep.</p>
<p>One of the main things I recommend people do is to get a very non-toxic bedroom.</p>
<p>When you sleep at night, that’s when you heal.</p>
<p>When cleaning up your environment, start with air quality, water quality, and then fix up the bedroom because that’s where you’re spending most of your time. I<strong>f you make one investment, get rid of the box springs, and use an organic latex mattress.</strong></p>
<p>Three years ago, a good organic latex mattress would cost $4,000 to $5,000. Now there’s more competition.</p>
<p>There were only a couple of companies back then. Now you can find them online at Amazon, and you can find a fairly decent one for about $1,000. It’s something you have to save your money for, but think about how well you’ll sleep and how well your body will heal.</p>
<p><strong>I also recommend using 100% organic bed sheets and pillowcases, as well as hypoallergenic, dander-free pillows.</strong></p>
<p>A pillow over 10 years old can hold 60% of its weight in dander, which is dried skin.</p>
<p>If there’s dander around, most likely there are dust mites around, too. You can have a lot of dust mites inside your pillow, and their droppings can cause allergies and allergens when you sleep.</p>
<p>There are a lot of people these days who are spending a lot of money on products for chronic allergies and sinus problems. They’re having sleep problems.</p>
<p>All of that can usually be cleared up once they get rid of all of the toxins from their bed.<strong> Beds &#8220;out-gas&#8221; too, especially the memory foam mattresses that are completely soaked in fire retardants and toxic chemicals that &#8220;out-gas&#8221; what are called volatile organic compounds.</strong></p>
<p>Those are chemical gases that you breathe that are constantly being released.</p>
<p>When you lie on something, your body temperature is 98.6 degrees. More gases are released with heat. Then you put your face there and breathe that in for eight hours straight with your head one centimeter away from where the gases are being released.</p>
<p>The box springs act as a giant antenna underneath your bed, which can cause harm to you and cause imbalances in your body’s own electromagnetic frequency.</p>
<p>What an informative discussion with Dr. Group!</p>
<p>Now that we&#8217;re better informed about how wire acts as a receiver of harmful electromagnetic frequencies, we can begin making more health-conscious choices about the products we buy and place in our environment.</p>

<p>Last week, Dr. Edward Group was back for a fifth teleclass together. This amazing interview was part two of the teleclass we did back in December about the toxins in our environment and how they impact our health. Having studied natural healing methods for over 20 years, his passion is to get the word out and educate people about environmental toxicity.  </p>
<p><span id="more-16082"></span></p>
<p> We know that toxins and chemicals are the cause of so many degenerative health and emotional conditions today. But it’s not just one toxin that causes disease. It’s the combination and accumulation of many different toxins we’re exposed to in our air, water, food, and physical environment. There are simply too many toxins coming into the body and not enough toxins going out.</p>
<p>The body’s self-healing mechanism becomes suppressed. When that happens, negative health conditions start to arise. And it’s getting progressively worse. Our environment is, quite literally, making us sick.</p>
<p>To give us an idea of how serious this issue is, Dr. Group walked us through a typical North American’s day to illustrate the amount and number of toxins we’re exposed to, beginning before we even get out of bed.</p>
<p>The products we use on our body, the water in our house, and what we eat all result in a toxic environment inside our body as well as externally in our living and working conditions.</p>
<p>But it’s not all bad news! Through education we can identify the harmful substances we’re exposed to and begin to gradually but steadily reduce our exposure by replacing those substances with affordable natural, organic alternatives. There are solutions for almost every situation.</p>
<p>What are some easy ways to start eliminating those toxins, or at least open up the body’s own elimination routes so we’re able to get these toxins out as fast as they’re coming in?</p>
<p>Everybody is different and has a different environment, but we all need to cleanse the inside and outside of the body daily to excrete the toxins, chemicals, and heavy metals that have accumulated.</p>
<p>Dr. Group shared that our skin is our biggest organ, and it’s responsible for pushing toxins out. When we layer toxic creams and compounds on our skin, it can’t breathe. Our skin should be our cleanest organ.</p>
<p>Inside of the body, cleansing needs to start with the liver, which is our most important detoxification organ. A congested liver will make it hard to detoxify the body and excrete toxins, chemicals, and heavy metals properly.</p>
<p><strong>Here are some of the other things we talked about:   </strong></p>

<p> If people were really aware of all of the chemicals they’re exposed to from the time they wake up in the morning to the time they go to bed at night it would, hopefully, be shocking enough for them to take steps to turn things around. So here’s the wake-up call!</p>
<p>It’s not getting any better, and in general our environment will continue to deteriorate. But we have choices. We can change things. The ultimate goal is to reduce your daily exposure.</p>
<p>So take responsibility for your health now. Get educated about toxicity in your body and environment, identify toxic sources, and then replace them with natural and organic alternatives. You’ll rediscover good health, positive thinking, and vitality!   </p>

This makes it a great alternative for both diabetics and those who are trying to watch their diet. ( <strong>Wheat &amp; Gluten Free</strong>)</strong></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<ul>
<li>      1 cup (250 mL) quinoa</li>
<li>      2 cups ( 500 mL) water</li>
<li>      1 tsp (5 mL) cinnamon</li>
<li>      1 tsp (5 mL) ground ginger</li>
<li>      2 Tbsp (30 mL) maple syrup</li>
<li>      2 cup almond milk</li>
<li>      1/2 cup Hempseeds</li>
<li>      1 cup blueberries</li>
</ul>
<p>Bring quinoa, water, cinnamon, and ginger to a boil in medium saucepan. Simmer covered, until the water has been absorbed, about 15 minutess. Stir in maple syrup and let stand 5 minutes.</p>
<p>Fluff with a fork, divide among serving bowls, and top with hemp seeds, almond milk and blueberries.</p>

I moved from my cottage back to Georgetown for the winter, and that proved to be a major transition. I finally said, &#8220;Enough is enough!&#8221; And, I did something about it.</p>
<p><span id="more-16170"></span></p>
<p>Now, I feel as if I&#8217;m back on track. I’ve finally gotten my work and personal schedules back under control. </p>
<p>What I discovered along the way was that I needed to honor myself and organize my work schedule around my personal lifestyle more than ever before!</p>
<p>Have you ever felt that way . . . as if your life is out of balance? Well, this is exactly what I experienced over the last few months! I know it&#8217;s a bit personal, but it&#8217;s a life lesson that&#8217;s worth sharing with you.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s the reason I didn&#8217;t start my teleclass at the beginning of January (as I normally do). I needed that time to look at my life in whole! So, I started to take a daily inventory of how I respond to, invite, accommodate and tolerate things in my life.</p>
<p>And, what I discovered was that I&#8217;ve been responding to, inviting, accommodating and tolerating things that haven&#8217;t really been supporting me. That&#8217;s not good!</p>
<p>Here I am, coaching clients on their life issues all the time! But, I got caught up with the hectic demands of my own environment. By the way, your environment not only includes daily events and occurrences but also your thoughts and emotions.</p>
<p>In fact, your thoughts are the most important part of your environment because they&#8217;re what lead to everything else.</p>
<p>What an incredible wake-up call!</p>
<p>I&#8217;m not sure about you, but this doing, doing and more doing is a bit exhausting! I&#8217;d rather focus on nourishing what I already have.</p>
<p><strong>This is what I learned from my personal experience. </strong></p>
<p>When you don&#8217;t take care of your own personal journey—physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually—you don’t have time to take care of anything else in your life. And, that’s what happened to me.</p>
<p>Through this life event, I discovered that taking care of my personal needs is on my priority list, big time!</p>
<p>So, I started to simplify all aspects of my life and let go of things that don&#8217;t bring joy to me anymore.</p>
<p>My clients often share their frustrations around getting back in control of their lives and creating more self-discipline, or just getting their lives back in balance.</p>
<p>It may be that you&#8217;re an emotional eater and are replacing what you&#8217;re missing in life with comfort food. If that sounds like you, just ask yourself what&#8217;s really missing in your life. Really, take a good look at your environment.</p>
<p>Start by taking a daily inventory of how you respond to, invite, accommodate and tolerate things in your life.</p>
<p>You&#8217;ll be amazed what you discover about yourself and your life.</p>
<p>The other day I was reading the Marc and Angel Hack Life blog. I go there sometimes when I need inspiration.</p>
<p><strong>I discovered a post called, “30 Things You Can Start Doing For Yourself.”</strong></p>
<p>The first thing on the list was to start spending time with the right people.</p>
<p>They&#8217;re the people you enjoy and who love and appreciate you, and who encourage you to improve yourself in healthy and exciting ways. They&#8217;re the ones who make you feel more alive and who, unconditionally, embrace not only the person you are now, but also the person you want to be.</p>
<p>Try to be around those people.</p>
<p>You can’t be everything to everyone, but you can be everything to a few people.</p>
<p>Decide who those people are in your life and treat them like royalty. Remember, you don’t need a certain number of friends, just a number of friends you can be certain of.</p>

<p>6 carrots ~peeled and thinly sliced</p>
<p><span id="more-16100"></span></p>
<p>1 granny smith apple~ thinly sliced</p>
<p>1/4 cup sesame seeds black or white or both</p>
<p>1 tbsp. grated fresh ginger</p>
<p>1/4 cup raw apple cider vinegar</p>
<p>3/4 cup extra virgin olive oil</p>
<p>Handful of pecan nuts for garnish</p>
<p>Julienne slice the cabbage, carrots and apple. Add sesame seeds ( raw or toated).</p>
<p>Toss together. For the dressing, combine the ginger, vinegar and oil. Add this to the cabbage, carrots and apple. Top with more sesame seeds.</p>
<p>Add salt and pepper to taste. Add Pecans for a delicious, nutty taste.</p>

Where does it come from? Sources include <strong>sugar,</strong> <strong>white flour</strong>, and <strong>processed oils</strong>, which make up a significant portion of the average North American diet and cause biochemical chaos in the body. In fact, the wheat-consuming nations of the world have the most inflammatory disease.</p>
<p><span id="more-10282"></span>If we’re overweight, fat cells produce inflammatory chemicals, adding to the overload, and the result is massive amounts of inflammation occurring in our bodies. These pro-inflammatory chemicals, when released, damage our tissues, glands, and everything else.</p>
<p>Raymond Francis is an internationally recognized leader in the field of optimal-health maintenance who has proposed a remarkable concept of health along with a simple program for achieving it that begins by teaching the basics of good health.</p>
<p>He believes health is an individual responsibility, our duty to ourselves. But we’re simply not living up to it. Why? First of all, because nobody ever told us it is a duty; and secondly, nobody ever told us how to do it. But <strong>health is a choice</strong>, and Raymond’s passion is to help people choose it.</p>
<p>One of the questions I asked him was:</p>
<p><strong>What were the results of his latest research since our last interview?</strong> Here’s what he said:</p>
<p><strong>Inflammation is the foundation stone </strong>of virtually every chronic disease.</p>
<p>It certainly is a foundation stone of cancer. Inflammation drives cancer. Without inflammation cancer would not exist. Here’s what I’ve been finding. You say inflammation is important. Then you ask the question, “How do you get inflammation? Where does inflammation come from?”</p>
<p>You start looking at the sugar, white flour, and processed oils that we eat. These are all sources of inflammation.</p>
<p><strong>Then we’re overweight,</strong> and that’s a source of inflammation. <strong>Fat cells produce inflammatory chemicals.</strong> Still, we have massive amounts of inflammation going on. You keep asking yourself, “Where is this coming from?” I’m starting to find out where it’s coming from.</p>
<p>I’ll share this with your audience. I haven’t completed all my research on this yet, but I’ll share the conclusions I’ve reached so far.</p>
<p><strong>Our consumption of wheat is a major source of inflammation</strong>. I have simply stopped eating wheat. I eat no wheat whatsoever. In fact, I eat very few grains now. I strongly recommend that people stop eating wheat, and here’s why.</p>
<p>What we’ve done over the years is we have hybridized wheat to continually get higher and higher amounts of protein in the wheat.</p>
<p><strong>We now have wheat with very high amounts of protein, much higher than 2,000 years ago</strong>. There’s a component of this protein, which is actually one of the proteins; it’s a glycoprotein, which is a protein and a sugar molecule together.</p>
<p>This is a class of compounds called <strong>lectins. Lectins </strong>are in the wheat to protect the wheat from attack by bacteria, viruses, and fungi.</p>
<p>It does a marvelous job of protecting the wheat from infection. It does this by damaging the cell walls of the <strong>bacteria and the fungi</strong> and destroying them. Here’s something that is in there to protect the wheat from attack.</p>
<p><strong>Unfortunately, human beings have the same receptor sites </strong>on the cells as the fungi and bacteria have. That means that because we have the same receptor sites, the lectins are also going to damage our cells.</p>
<p><strong>Historically,</strong> when we were eating wheat 2,000 years ago, it had lectins in it but we had adapted to the amount of lectins.</p>
<p>Now what we’ve done, especially over the last couple hundred years, is we’ve hybridized the wheat to where it has very large amounts of lectins in it now. We have high-protein wheat with large amounts of lectins.</p>
<p>We’re now getting exposed to a tremendous amount of lectins.</p>
<p><strong>Guess what?</strong> Lectins, even in very small quantities, are capable of producing pro-inflammatory chemicals in the body. I really think that this is where a lot of our inflammation is coming from. Even at exceedingly low concentrations, lectins will stimulate this production of pro-inflammatory chemicals.</p>
<p>Once you do this, the pro-inflammatory chemicals go out and damage all your tissues, glands, and everything else.</p>
<p>The problem is that we’re producing a lot of inflammation here. Geographically, when you look at the wheat-consuming nations, the countries that consume the most wheat have the most problems with inflammatory diseases.</p>
<p><strong>I’m looking at this thing and asking, </strong>“Where’s the inflammation coming from?” I’m looking at the fact that the lectins produce information, and I&#8217;m then looking at the fact that wheat-consuming nations have the most inflammatory disease.</p>
<p>It’s starting to form a picture for me. You asked the question of what I’m doing and what my new research is. This is one of the things I’ve come up with recently.</p>
<p><strong>I’m beginning to believe </strong>that this is really very profound stuff here. I have gotten off of all wheat totally and completely, and I’m now advising everybody not to eat any wheat.</p>
<p>It may in fact be a very bad choice. Again, it doesn’t take much. What we’re finding in the research is that exceedingly small concentrations of lectins can stimulate the production of inflammatory chemicals in the body.</p>
<p><strong>That muffin for breakfast </strong>may be enough to stimulate a lot of inflammation. Then there’s another problem here. Lectins are highly stable molecules, so they’re very resistant to the degradation through a wide variety of pH ranges and a wide variety of temperatures.</p>
<p><strong>They survive cooking, sprouting, fermenting, and digesting.</strong> They’re very stable molecules, and they’re also highly resistant to breaking down in the body. They actually bio-accumulate in the body and become incorporated into the tissues where they begin to interfere with your normal biological processes.</p>
<p>I tell you, the more I look at the lectins the scarier they become.</p>
