Swedish Named Region's Only Comprehensive Stroke Center

Swedish Medical Center has been named the first and only Comprehensive Stroke Center in Colorado and the Rocky Mountain Region by the Joint Commission, the prestigious national medical accreditation organization. This new level of certification recognizes the advanced technology, staff and training that comprehensive stroke centers must have to provide state-of-the-art complex stroke care.

"Colorado takes great pride in recognizing Swedish Hospital's status as a Comprehensive Stroke Center," said Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper. "Efforts like these go a long way to giving Coloradans the best possible medical treatment and to making our state the healthiest in the country."

Speakers: Jennifer Ballentine, President of "The Iris Project-Preparing For the End of Life"

Purpose: To educate EMS providers regarding the changes in
the CPR Directive “Rules” and the implementation of CPR
directives by EMS providers.

As of April 2010, the CDPHE completed revisions to regulations surrounding CPR Directives. The purpose is to make easier for the public to prepare their own directives using a standardized “blue form” and to clarify procedures for EMS to follow when faced with a patient's end of life decisions.

Join Ms. Ballentine as she walks us through how to interpret and apply these new revised rules in the field

New Online CE System and Modules

HealthONE EMS proudly announces the launch of its improved online CE module system. At launch, three modules are available for free for EMS providers for continuing education credits. Additional modules will be added to the library monthly.

The modules are provided through a robust learning management system. The system and modules include text, podcasts, audio files, clinical studies, videos and other multimedia. Providers may register, log into the system and complete their continuing education at their convenience online. To receive credit, providers must complete the learning portion of the module, score a 70% or better on an exam related to the module, and complete a module survey.

To access the modules go to www.HealthONEEMS.com and select Online CE or click here for direct access to the learning management system. Follow the onscreen instructions to create a new user ID and password to access the library.
