<p>Normally temporary colors are used to give brighter colors to the hair. It is because temporary hair colourants do not penetrate the hair shaft itself. Instead, these dyes remain adsorbed to the follicle and can be easily removed with a single shampooing.</p>

<p>Unless you are already an equipment expert, this article will help you choose wisely so that you can get the best for less.</p>
<p>After making the commitment to begin a diet and fitness program, the first step many people take is to purchase of some sort of exercise equipment.  If you do this, it will also be your first big obstacle, simply because the overwhelming selection makes it extremely difficult to know where to begin.</p>
<p>Be careful!  This is where many will make their first big fitness mistake.  Millions of dollars and countless unused pieces of exercise equipment fill garages and basements across the country, a testament to poor choices and hasty decisions.</p>
<p>The first and best decision you can make, to get the biggest bang for your buck, is to put your credit cards in the deep freeze and ask yourself these simple questions:</p>
<p>1. What are your fitness goals?</p>
<p>What you hope to achieve has everything to do with what sort of workout program you should follow and what equipment you might need.  Do you want to primarily lose weight and firm up?  Do you want to increase your strength or do you want to really build significant muscle mass?</p>
<p>2. How much experience do you have?</p>
<p>Are you confident that you can design a program to achieve the goals you just outlined?  Will you need help with this?  Were you a regular exerciser in the past?  Have you tried a variety of equipment and for long enough to really get a feel for it?</p>
<p>3. What are the practical considerations of your intended purchase?</p>
<p>How much space do you have?  Do you plan to move any time soon?  (Some equipment can be the devil to transport.)  How much can you afford to spend regardless of what you think you might need?  Since the cost of some equipment could equal a three-year gym membership, is joining a gym out of the question?</p>
<p>Now, considering the fact that simple is usually best, and that the fanciest and finest equipment will not get you in shape unless you use it, think about this:</p>
<p>Your goals dictate your exercise plan which in turn affects the equipment you may need.  If you have only a little experience with exercise, consider a minimalist approach toward equipment.  This will not compromise your progress.<br />

Until you are in an exercise groove; until a lifestyle of physical activity becomes habit, statistics confirm that you probably will not stick with it.  Why not create the habit of simply walking before buying a $1,500 treadmill that will likely end up in the garage collecting dust.</p>
<p>Let the success of your exercise program justify the expense, before you make your purchase.  You may find that you dont want a treadmill after all.</p>
<p>The same holds true for strength training.  Before buying a multi-purpose home gym, try simple hand weights which are highly effective, inexpensive and all you need to get on track.  Bodybuilders actually prefer free weights in most cases.  If you choose to buy a gym later, you can still use the hand weights.</p>
<p>Once you have made some progress your goals might change.  Quite possibly, you will find that your present workouts are all you need.  If, on the other hand, you want to expand your exercise possibilities, consider joining a gym for a month or so.  Maybe buy a few sessions with a personal trainer.  Try out the different machines until you get comfortable.  Pay attention to what gym quality feels like; some affordable home-style machines can be disappointing.</p>
<p>It is important to know what suits you, before you begin shopping.  Without this experience, it is easy to make a premature decision after a brief test drive with a salesman breathing down your neck.</p>
<p>Get to know your stuff before spending your hard-earned money.  You will know exactly what you need and when a particular piece of equipment feels right.  After making an informed decision as to what is best, you can wait and look for sales and bargains.</p>
<p>Most importantly, you will avoid making impulsive decisions, emptying your wallet and ending up with a piece of junk or something you dont really need.</p>

<p>4. Cooking dinner? Do standing push-ups while you wait for a pot to boil. Stand about an arm&#8217;s length from the kitchen counter, and push your arms against the counter. Push in and out to work your arms and shoulders.</p>
<p>5. After dinner, go outside and play tag or shoot baskets with your kids and their friends.</p>
<p>6. Just before bed or while you&#8217;re giving yourself a facial at night, do a few repetitions of some dumbbell exercises, suggests exercise instructor Sheila Cluff, owner and founder of The Oaks at Ojai and The Palms, in Palm Springs, CA, who keeps a set of free weights on a shelf in front of her bathroom sink.</p>

Researchers have found that about 15% of the population in the United States are problem drinkers, and about 5-10% of male drinkers and 3-5% of female drinkers can be diagnosed as alcohol dependent. This means as many as 14 million persons are affected by alcoholism in the USA alone. These facts of alcoholism numbers do not include family, friends and others additionally affected by the actions of alcoholics.</p>
<p> Alcoholism can be divided into two categories &#8211; abuse and dependence. Alcohol dependence is the most severe alcohol disorder and is characterized by tolerance and withdrawal. Tolerance is the need for increased amounts of alcohol to become intoxicated. Withdrawal symptoms occur when alcohol intake is reduced or discontinued. Alcohol abusers are drinkers that may drink heavily at various times and have problems such as drinking and driving, violent episodes, or missing work or school.</p>
<p> Alcohol use is mainly influenced by attitudes developed during the childhood and teen years. In addition, parent&#8217;s attitudes and behaviors toward drinking, influence from peers and family relationships can impact how one views and treats the consumption of alcohol.</p>
<p> About 20% of teens are considered &#8216;problem drinkers&#8217; in the U.S. What this means is that they get drunk, they may have accidents, or they have problems with the law, family members, friends, school or work due to alcohol consumption and related facts of alcoholism.</p>
<p> Alcohol effects appear within 10 minutes of drinking and are the maximum in approximately 40-60 minutes. Alcohol will stay in the bloodstream until the liver metabolizes the alcohol. If a person consumes alcohol at a rate faster than the liver is able to break it down, the blood alcohol content rises.</p>
<p> Each state defines alcohol intoxication which is measured by blood alcohol concentration. A breathalyzer field test is commonly used to measure blood alcohol content for drivers. And another of the alcoholism facts is that most states have a legal limit of between 0.08 and 0.10. Different levels lead to increasingly serious effects. A blood alcohol level of 0.05 reduces inhibitions, 0.10 results in slurred speech and a blood alcohol level of 0.50 can result in coma.</p>
<p>The above information can be considered basic facts of alcoholism. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I was told in rapid succession that I was suffering from intermittent claudication (thats blocked arteries in the legs), high blood pressure, Diabetes Type 2. and that I was overweight.</p>
<p>Not a lot of pleasure there! The intermittent claudication made it increasingly difficult to do much, so that in effect I had become a prisoner to my house and garden. Exercise was out of the question, my legs simply couldnt cope, but it was hoped that angioplasty to each leg would cure the problem. It didnt.</p>
<p>My high blood pressure, I was assured, could be treated by a cocktail of drugs and by weight loss. The cocktail of four different drugs worked, but I could not seem to lose weight.</p>
<p>So I was given a choice: the blood sugar levels could be controlled either by drugs or by diet. Since I was already taking four different drugs for blood pressure, I thought it best to try diet control. I was also hopeful that this might help me to lose weight. But where to start? My diabetic nurse provided me with a blood sugar monitor and said I should aim to stay under 9 as my reading. My Doctor said to stay under 7. Now she has reduced this to under 5. My current long-term reading is 5.3. A big drop from the high readings I used to produce.</p>
<p>So what did I do? At first I was taking blood samples three times a day and was truly astonished at how my blood sugar jumped about. Plain porridge and water, which I absolutely loved, would produce a reading of 16 and yet, being a slow release multigrain, I had always assumed it would be good for my health. A single apple, showed a reading of 12! Tea with milk but no sugar, 10. Obviously there was more to this than met the eye.</p>
<p>The first learning point was that the body needs water and lots of it. Out went sugared fizzy drinks and in came plain boiled water. The Swedes call it Silver Tea, Im told, and it is very refreshing. Now a cup starts every day and two or three more follow. Low calorie tonic water is also useful (the quinine helps prevent cramps), mineral water (I especially like carbonated forms), low calorie Ginger Beer and cold filtered tap water.<br />

The next, crucial, learning point: control your carbohydrate intake, in my case to under 40gms a day. Eliminate bread, cakes, sweets, pasta, rice, cereals, biscuits, sugars, fruit juice, potatoes, honey, jam, marmalade, baked beans. Reading the food labels is a real eye opener!</p>
<p>Instead, increase your intake of vegetables and low carbohydrate foods &amp; fruits. All of the following are particularly good: Broccoli, cabbage, spinach, runner beans, brussels sprouts cauliflower, broccoli, peppers, tomatoes, courgettes, aubergines, swede, squashes, celeriac, green salads. Fruit can be very high in sugars, so use in moderation. Choose rhubarb, grapefruit, raspberries, loganberries, strawberries, blueberries, all of which are O.K. Do not add sugar, of course, so sweeten with cinnamon instead. Avocadoes are low in carbohydrates, but high in fat, so eat no more than half a fruit a day. Add nuts and seeds to your diet, again in small amounts.</p>
<p>As far as alcohol is concerned, all beers are out. One or two glasses of red wine a day are acceptable.</p>
<p>Avoid processed foods as much as possible and certainly do NOT eat hydrogenated fats of any kind. They are to my mind a food industry con. and of no use to any one other than manufacturers of processed food.</p>
<p>Buy only genuine, non-reconstituted lean meat, poultry, game and fish. Reduce your saturated fat intake by cooking on a griddle and cutting off any excess fat. Cook with olive and nut oils, as these unsaturated fats are good for you. Never use lard. Add game to your repertoire of ingredients, along with plenty of oily and white fish such as salmon, haddock, tuna, swordfish, mackerel &amp; kipper.</p>
<p>I have never once felt hungry with this change in my eating habits to simple whole foods. I still find I miss eating plain yoghurt, vanilla ice cream and various cheeses. But then I occasionally do give myself a small treat &#8211; provided I stay within my allowance.</p>
<p>The results are good for my health:</p>
<p>My good cholesterol is high<br />
My bad cholesterol is low<br />
My type II diabetes blood sugar is well controlled by diet alone<br />
I have lost 10 lbs in weight.</p>
<p>My next task is to lose another 30 lbs. I know now that this is achievable. The more weight I lose, the more able I am to increase my activity levels &#8211; and the more incentive I have to control my calorie intake. At last I feel that I am taking back control of my body and discovering that you really are what you eat!</p>
