The After Party Involved In Van Accident Over The Weekend; Band Is Ok and Will Finish Out Remaining Dates On Tour Supporting for Allstar Weekend

Manhattan, KS’ The After Party were involved in a van accident after their Boston show on Saturday night with Allstar Weekend. While traveling through Roxbury, CT en route to Staten Island, NY, the band’s van veered off the road and over a guard rail. The van was totaled, but luckily no one was injured.

As guitarist Andy Bell explains, “We were pulling an all night drive after our show in Boston to Staten Island, NY. I was driving at the time, and already really low on sleep. We were only five miles away from where we were staying, and I was starting to get really drowsy, but since we were so close I wanted to just finish the drive. I fell asleep for a split second as we came up to a curve, and we ran off the road over a guard rail. We still made it to the show in Staten Island last night. We had to cram into three different cars and literally walked on stage 20 minutes after arriving at the venue, but we made it happen.“

The After Party has picked up a new van and plans to finish out the remainder of their tour dates with Allstar Weekend.

"Wrecking the van was one of the scariest moments of my entire life and I am so thankful no one got hurt. We seriously appreciate all of the love our fans are giving us, and we are going to do everything in our power to make it all of the remaining shows on the All The Way Tour," says Bell.

THE CONTORTIONIST made the trek down to Audiohammer Studios in Orlando, FL last week to record the follow-up to their stunning 2010 debut, Exoplanet. Famed producers Jason Suecof and Eyal Levi (August Burns Red, The Black Dahlia Murder) are producing the new release, which is set to hit stores in late spring/early summer 2012. The new album is already rumored to be one of the most anticipated new albums of 2012 from one of the most buzzed about up-and-coming bands in the new wave of progressive metal.

A heart-on-sleeve concept album about girl troubles that plays like a Motown album with drum machines, Hills Like Elephants' debut LP The Endless Charade will be released on March 27 via Requiemme Records/BMG Chrysalis.

Featuring the crooning of Sean Davenport, drums from Matt Lynott [The White Buffalo] and production from Christopher Hoffe at Chaos Recorders in Escondido, The Endless Charade makes use of vintage drum machines, Moog plug-ins, an old school pump organ, and an 80s synthesizer that was recorded with fans blowing to cool it down.

Bourbon-based modern Motown bluesman Sean Davenport is no stranger to aborted romance. The Bonita born pianist spent the better part of his young adulthood stumbling from Boston to New York to L.A. and back to San Diego, tripping over women who kicked him when he was down and leaving behind a trail of soul-heavy lost love epitaphs via ex-bands Abigail Warchild (NY) and Gun Runner (SD).

Raised a bottle-toss away from Tom Waits' old turf, the candid crooner finds solace in a place where heartbroken vocals, Pavement guitars, and driving drum machines meet. BRENDON SMALL is the co-creator/ writer/ actor/ director/ producer/ of ADULT SWIM'S METALOCALYPSE television series. Brendon Small is also responsible for writing and performing all of the show's music and DETHKLOK: THE DETHALBUM and DETHALBUM II, the latter now known as the fastest-selling death metal album to date.

Now, Brendon has written and produced BRENDON SMALL's GALAKTIKON: "A High Stakes Intergalactic Extreme Rock album", his long-awaited side project set to release in April 2012. The album release will coincide with the Season 4 premiere of METALOCALYPSE.

Coming off of the second DETHKLOK album which was heavier and darker than the first, BRENDON SMALL’s GALAKTIKON searches for melody (in the vocal) and finds inspirations in modern black metal, Queen, Foo Fighters, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins and Weezer. British Music Embassy Reveals Full SXSW '12 Lineup

After announcing the launch party lineup earlier this week, the British Music Embassy is excited to announce its full SXSW '12 lineup, with events commencing on Monday, March 12th and lasting until Saturday, March 17th. The UK is the only nation represented at SXSW by its own dedicated venue, Latitude 30, located at 512 San Jacinto Blvd in downtown Austin. Sixty plus bands perform across the week from all four corners of the country, with regionally focused events during the day and British brands hosting the evening SXSW showcases. This unique project returns for a fifth year to again set the stage for some of the UK's best new bands to play the world, from the heart of Texas.

Not many lifelong Paul McCartney devotees can say Macca’s longtime drummer and guitarist guested on their latest album—to net the talents of drummer Abe Laboriel, Jr. and guitarist Brian Ray the songs have to be first-rate. In just 7 years and 3 albums critically-acclaimed singer-songwriter Tom Fuller has matured into a sophisticated tunesmith with a flair for penning cinematic, anthemic, pop-rock with introspective and spiritually-uplifting lyrics. The Chicago native’s third and latest, ASK, released September 5th in the UK and recently in North America on Redcap Records is his most realized vision.

Tom’s pushed his singing dynamically to embrace the full emotional spectrum and he’s written his strongest batch of tunes to date—the esteemed UK magazine Classic Rock made the infectiously hooky “Ask” track of the day. The broad appeal of Tom’s music has made his band, the Tom Fuller Band, compatible sharing stages with a diverse array of established artists such as Fastball, Rusted Root, Robin Trower, Blues Traveler, UFO, King’s X and the Guess Who. ASK is produced by longtime producer/mentor Rick Chudacoff, (Alison Krauss, Smokey Robinson) mixed with Cenzo Townsend and Dave Bascombe (U2, Bon Jovi) at the famed Muscle Shoals studio and mastered at the hallowed Abbey Road Studios.

Tom’s compositional sense on ASK references the British Invasion pop-with-chops heritage with imaginative arrangements, rich harmonies, and sweetly-complex chord sequences. He merges this kaleidoscopic approach with a vulnerable humility; his lyrical approach manages to be both intimate and mystical, at times referencing the confessional storytelling style of James Taylor, Jim Croce, and Harry Chapin. The production aesthetic staves off any revivalist tags, there is a deeply detailed sonic tapestry that calls to mind the atmospherics of modern greats like Wilco and Coldplay.

The compact power-pop of “Ask” and “Lovers” reveals a natural talent for writing in a more singles-driven format. “Ask” recalls the concise catchiness of Tom Petty with hooks that are instantly familiar—one listen and you’re singing along. The driving rock of “Lovers” has a mystical grandeur with majestic Byrds-y 12-string guitar touches and enigmatically romantic lyrics. “I love astrology, tarot, and all the Mantic Arts. ‘Lovers’ is a tarot-reading song with the four symbols the lover, the fool, card lady, and the queen of cups,” Tom explains. “It’s about someone who just met somebody and is scared to death because they have a fear of falling in love. I didn’t complete the song, I left it open for the listener to interpret.”

Engaging tunes like “Keeping Time” and “Garden Dreaming Days” stretch out symphonically with thoughtful peaks-and-valleys arrangements. “Keeping Time” gently unfolds with a wistful fingerpicked guitar and Tom’s gently plaintive vocals, sincere but with longing. “The key line is ‘The fire and passion of any dream will let no one or thing come in between.’ I was in a relationship and what I was doing with music wasn’t that important; she didn’t understand how important this really was to me, it was heartbreaking,” Tom candidly reveals. “Life does go on, and with another day you can fill up the backpack with hope.”

On “Garden Dreaming Days” Tom challenged himself to write in an impressionistically romantic style with achingly beautiful lyrics like: Park Bench Memories/Gazing at the sky/My black umbrella/Can help if it cries/I come here to escape/Whenever I’m feeling sad/Garden Dreaming Days/More Time I Wish We Had. Tom’s a self-taught musician and mainly a guitarist by trade but he scored this poem by writing on the piano. “A couple of sections violate music laws; I’m not a trained guy. If it feels good to me, I run with it, I don’t give a shit about the rules,” Tom says. Paul McCartney ace guitarist Bryan Ray played soaring, teardrop guitar leads, emotional and gorgeously life-affirming.

Tom grew up playing in rock n’ roll in bands but had to leave it behind to make a living. As an adult he returned to the grounding and cathartic act of writing songs for himself to make his way through some personal demons. “There was this calling of a journey of getting alcohol out of my life and it left this huge gap that drove me to pick up a 6-string and deal with my emotions,” Tom says. “I didn’t know jack shit but I just took these baby steps that came together when I met my producer Rick Chudacoff—when the student’s ready the teacher shows.”

Also integral to Tom’s growth has been his band whose interplay, high level of musicianship and song-first sensitivity are all over ASK. This is Tom’s strongest effort not only because of the growth in Tom’s writing, but his vocals have an emotional resonance and confidence not heard on previous albums. ASK is a high watermark for Tom’s maturation as an artist and his growth as a person—it candidly and poetically reveals the depth of his inner journey with big hooks and a lot of heart.

A song like the rock operatic “Hell Fire Angel” with labyrinthine twists that connect winsome folk-guitar passages to raw-nerve rock n’ roll desperation mirror Tom’s impressively dramatic ascension as an esteemed songwriter and metaphorically alludes to his victory over alcohol. It’s a powerful arc from obsessing over Paul McCartney albums as a boy to recording with the former Beatles’ longtime sidemen as an adult. “The ‘awe’ thing kicked in the first day over lunch. The guys were talking about the new songs they’re doing with Paul and they were talking about learning ‘Paperback Writer’ and all the complex harmonies. I was getting chills like these guys can just call him up like it’s going to the beach.” Tom pauses, marveling at the scene before concluding, “I’m a lucky guy.”

Oxford, UK-based quartet Jonquil has premiered the remix of "It's My Part," by Baltimore-based sound experimentalist Co La (formerly of Ecstatic Sunshine). Described by The FADER as "a song that's basically already great, jubilant and emotive as any of Jonquil's releases," 'It's My Part' is the first single off Jonquil's Point of Go album, out next week with Dovecote Records (The Futureheads, Hooray For Earth). The full-length will see an international release with Blessing Force; a growing community of artists, musicians and writers in Oxford that involves the band's other projects Chad Valley, Pocket House and Solid Gold Dragons.

Noted as an American Songwriter 'Band to Watch,' the quartet has been celebrated for its creative integration of afro and indie-pop, winning praise from RCRD LBL, Under the Radar, CMJ and WNYC among others. Jonquil also recently debuted a mixtape with NYLON, who said "this eclectic mashup has something for everyone- much like the sounds of Jonquil themselves." About Moving Mountains: Westchester, New York’s Moving Mountains find inspiration from bands like Sunny Day Real Estate, Engine Down, Cave In, and Further Seems Forever. “A part of us wishes we were a band that was emerging in 2001...but in a weird way, it motivates us to pick up where some of those bands left off,” says frontman Gregory Dunn. Dunn co-founded Moving Mountains as a studio project in 2005 with drummer Nick Pizzolato. In 2007 they formed a full band. The newly formed outfit’s first collective effort was the Foreword EP, a dense, 36-minute four-song EP that they released in late 2008 on their own label, Caetera Recordings. Following the release of the EP the band signed to Triple Crown Records. The band’s most recent release is 2011’s Waves (Triple Crown Records). Moving Mountains has toured with the likes of Thrice, Biffy Clyro, Say Anything as well as spending the summer of 2011 on the Van's Warped Tour.

Vancouver-based Yukon Blonde has premiered its dynamic new video for 'Stairway' with Consequence of Sound. 'Stairway' was released on 7" in January and is the first single from the band's sophomore full-length, Tiger Talk, due out on March 20 via Dine Alone Records (Tokyo Police Club, Neon Indian). Last fall, the quartet embarked on a 62+ date North American tour followed by performances in Australia. Currently in the midst of a European tour, the band has announced forthcoming US shows and appearances at SXSW '12.

Directed by Joy and Justin Broadbent, the 'Stairway' video finds member Brandon Scott in a dreamlike state, remembering and longing for all the normal things he misses when on tour like vacuuming or washing dishes. The band explains, "In the dream he also finds these 'apparitions' which seem to be memories of people and places he misses from home, from which he feels slightly detached from being away so long, and yet he can always return and connect with them in the end."

Tiger Talk is the follow up to Yukon Blonde's Fire//Water EP released last fall. Produced by Colin Stewart (Black Mountain, Ladyhawk), the tracks on the album are short and punchy, as the band trimmed the fat and packed hooks and brisk tempos into streamlined arrangements. This past fall, Yukon Blonde's single "Fire" was featured on an episode of the ABC show Revenge shortly after the the TV show How I Met Your Mother made a reference to the group.

Formed in 1996, Shadows Fall emerged from Springfield, Massachusetts in 1996 as a D.I.Y. band that ultimately found legions of fans, worldwide fame, Grammy nominations, and rock radio success. The band has released six studio albums, two DVDs, a collection of B-sides and one Greatest Hits compilation, selling over 770,000 to date and has had music featured on the hugely popular video game series Guitar Hero. MOTHER'S GREEN Announces Release of New Album 'Swimming In The Sun'

Canadian eclectic rock outfit MOTHER’S GREEN recently released their brand new full-length album, Swimming in the Sun. This album comes as a follow-up to the band’s first full-length, self-titled release, which hit stores in Canada in 2008. For Swimming in the Sun, founding member, vocalist and guitarist March Ciaccari tapped drummer Dean Glover, percussionist Greg Noguera, and bassist Mike Simpson. The album was recorded at BWC Studios (The End, Moneen) in Toronto. The album was then mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side Music (Converge, Mastodon) in New York.

Shortly after recording, bassist Nick Tipe entered the band to handle bass duties in the place of Mike Simpson. Swimming in the Sun was completed with no label support, and the band continued on to self-finance their new video for ‘Observation for the Day’, cut from the new album.

The UK band's Rise Records debut album, No Gods, will be released on March 20th. Produced by Brian McTernan (The Explosion, Hot Water Music, Cave In), No Gods swims between the rules and regulations of the iconoclastic chaos of punk rock and British indie music. Over the course of eleven infectious anthems, Sharks sharpen timeless melodies with an explosive edge tempered by intricate riffing and hypnotic harmonies. It's pure. It's poetic. And it's powerful.

Born in 2007, Sharks is James Mattock (vocals), Andrew J. Bayliss (guitar), Sam Lister (drums), and Tony Corrales (bass). They released their first independent EP, Shallow Waters, in 2008 and drummed up a serious buzz while playing with the likes of Gallows, The Wedding Present, and Babyshambles. Barely old enough to drive, the group garnered critical acclaim from tastemakers such as KERRANG!, The Guardian, and NME for 2010's Show of Hands EP and incendiary performances supporting The Gaslight Anthem in the UK. In April 2011, they released The Joys of Living 2008-2010, a 14 song collection of previously released tracks and two band new ones that garnered them instant acclaim. Zane Lowe praised the collection as "the sound of a band reaching that moment when they are absolutely ready," while Kerrang called them "one of the best bands around."

Unlike many of their UK predecessors the band has toured extensively in the United States, often living in their van. In the United States they have toured with Social Distortion and just this past year played the entire Vans Warped Tour and Fall Alternative Press Tour. They are currently featured in the "Most Anticipated Music of 2012" issue of Alternative Press. The magazine said their music "bristles with a wonderful sense of rock 'n' roll heritage that serves as a tribute to fallen heroes such as the Clash while simultaneously molding those influences into something refreshing and contemporary."

Country superstar and actor Tim McGraw will close out the first day of BamaJam 2012 on June 14. McGraw’s most recent studio album, Emotional Traffic, was released on January 24 and debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart. The first single, “Felt Good on My Lips,” hit #1 and remained there for three consecutive weeks. His recent single, “Better than I Used to Be,” is currently at #20 on the Billboard Country chart and climbing. McGraw’s accolades include three GRAMMY^© awards, 14 Academy of Country Music Awards (ACM), 11 Country Music Association Awards (CMA) and three People’s Choice Awards. He has starred in such blockbuster movies as “Blind Side,” “Country Strong” and “Friday Night Lights.”

The Atlanta-based, award-winning group Zac Brown Band will take the stage to headline Friday’s BamaJam2012 performances. Exploding onto the country music scene in 2008 with the release of their double-platinum project The Foundation, Zac Brown Band has since become one of the most-sought-after groups on the touring market. The CD was the first major-label debut album in 18 years to spawn five #1 singles including “Chicken Fried” and “Free.” The band recently earned four GRAMMY^© nominations including "Best Country Album" for their sophomore release, You Get What You Give, and five CMA award nominations including "Entertainer of the Year."
