He measures 10 inches high at the shoulders and weighs about 10 pounds (he needs to lose a little)! His owner had to turn him in because her mother was sick and she needed to move to Maine to care for her.

Chewy is very friendly with people and dogs although he would prefer to be an only child. He is very protective of his owner and will bark and act aggressively when with his human if anyone or another dog approaches. Once he is used to his family or pack, he seems to settle down and "allow" others to approach.

He looks like he'd love to take to the open road, but be sure and look into a pleasanton motorcycle accident attorney, BOL! He loves to go in the car and on walks and walks well on leash. Choo-Choo's perfect home would be with a single person without any dogs who is active and likes to go on frequent walks and trips.

We found Chewy through ResQ Animal Coalition in Redding, California.
This adorable little guy was found running the streets and a TARA volunteer took him in. L.C. was in bad condition when he came to us but we nursed him back to health. Look at him now! He's a real little prince!

His rescuers can only imagine what kind of life he led before he was taken into TARA but its all over now. L.C. has put his ordeal behind and is ready to adopt a new family that will love him forever. This sweetheart is looking for a home that has a doggy door or where he wouldn't be left alone for more than 3 hours.

He is only about 15 pounds but what makes him even more special besides his pretty black coat and adorable face is the fact that he has no ear canals... which of course means that he is deaf. But have no fear, this little guy can communicate with you just fine with his beautiful brown eyes and wiggly body and tail!!

We met LC through The Animal Rescue Alliance (T.A.R.A.) in Independence, Missouri.
Her foster mom thinks she is a very smart girl who can easily learn just about anything if someone out there is willing to put time and effort into earning her trust.

She about 1 year old and is spayed and vaccinated. We are looking for that some one who has time and patience to help her become that beautiful dog she can be!
He was misidentified as a cocker spaniel/shih tzu mix.

He is 5 1/2 years old, He has a long, smooth coat, droopy ears, and a long tail that waves around and constantly signals his mood, which is usually happy, and mostly expectant. He is pretty set in his ways and a little headstrong. He's quite playful, and has made lots of friends with whom he romps around and wrestles, and never has a tussle developed into a nasty disagreement. I would be cautious with him, but he's a great dog and if his ego is respected, you would have a wonderful companion.

He weighs in at 17 1/2 lbs. He's in great health, up-to-date with shots, and well house trained as far as we can tell. I imagine he'd investigate and maybe tease cats, but he wouldn't attack them. He lives with a great many dogs, and there has never been any fights.
She was released from a commercial breeding facility where she spent the first three and a half years of her life.

She is cautious and wary in new surroundings but is gradually learning that good things can come from human hands. She is spayed, current on vaccinations and HW negative. Aubrey is crate trained but she will need work on her house training skills.

You'll definitely want to pick up a new camcorder before you adopt this little gem to capture all the wonderful moments!
We found Aubrey through Saint Louis Scottish Terrier Rescue in St. Louis, Missouri.
He weighs 13 lbs., and is about 4 years old. The vet thinks he is possibly a Schipperke and Pomeranian mix.

Skippy plays well with the other dogs at his foster home, but does not like cats. He would make a great companion for a mature couple. He's very healthy, but it's always wise to put together a health savings account for your new pup. He's housetrained, neutered, UTD on vaccinations, heartworm tested negative and on preventative, and microchipped.
T-Bo is just 4 years old and weighs about 13 pounds. He has obviously not had the best life and care in the world. His rescuers pulled T-Bo from a shelter where he had been dumped by his owners. He has some skin infections that are being cleared up with some medicine from our vet and some special medicated baths.

T-Bo is already looking so much better!! His coat is already improving and he should not have any problems with his skin and wrinkles other than what normally affects pugs. A family that is knowledgeable about the Pug breed would probably be the best fit for T-Bo. He has a very sweet and happy personality. T-Bo adores people and is a happy and friendly dog.

He gives kisses to everyone and will follow you around all day just for the joy of being by your side. :) T-Bo is also good with the other dogs at the rescue and cats. He would also be fine in a family with children. Are you looking for that dog that you can rescue and save from a neglectful life? T-Bo fits that criteria perfectly!! And he has a sweet and happy personality for you to enjoy!!

We found T-Bo through the Rescue Farm in Poland, Indiana.
Since he will remain small, we think the mix may be toy poodle/portugese water dog. He weighs about 15-20 pounds, is about 9-10 months old as of November 2009, and the vet says he should either stay close to his weight or max out about 25 pounds.

He has portugese water dog features (loose curl/wavy black hair, webbed toes, white bib, 3 white socks, and a long tail with a very small white tip). His name is Jackson, he is an extremely handsome young man, is very lovable and loves to play fetch with the ball. Since he's a young one you won't need to look into any life insurance rate for him :) As you can imagine, at this age, he is full of energy. He is presently going through the shelter training program.

We met Jackson through Georgia Poodle Rescue in Milton, Georgia.

For more information about Jackson, click here!

She is quite the sweetheart and just wants to be friends with everyone. She is almost a pup – being only 19 months old. Dot is quite stunning – white chest, white feet and a white spot on her nose. She never raced or trained – maybe because all she wants to do is play. She discovered the stuffed toys immediately upon arrival.

Her hobbies are playing with stuffed toys and running in the yard. She will do best with a fenced in yard and another dog to play with. The photo with the most votes and views will be the winner, second place number of votes and views gets second place...(well you get the idea)! The prizes are gift prize packages made up of some of the most amazing dog products on the market!

And this year, we've added in a way to help some pups in need! We encourage every one who enters to help out the shelter and the nice folks, that rescued me from a life on the streets. They helped Mum find me and give me the most amazing life a dog could ever have.

My shelter is the Southside Animal Shelter, a no-kill non-profit shelter, located here in Indianapolis, that rescues pets from all over the city. They take the unwanted ones from shelters that are full, find them roaming the streets (like I was, with my Mum, sisters and brothers), and take in all kinds of unwanted kitties and pups, then finds them amazing homes, just like I have. They will keep them all fed, healthy and happy until they get adopted if it's one day or even several years.

We're not asking for much, just a dollar if that's all you can spare. We know it's tough times, so if you're participating see if you can spare some to help out the needy pups and kitties, K? And ask your friends and family who are voting for ya to make a small donation too! The shelter sure could use some foods and supplies to help the pets find their furever homes!

We want to siriusly thank all the companies for their amazing generosity in making some pawsome contributions to the prize packages. Check them all out on our contest page.

To help get you some votes, we made a cool button you can put on your website or blog to promote your pawticipation! He is still pretty thin and a little timid when meeting new people. Once he realizes that he is not going to be hurt he warms up pretty quick. He may be mixed with something, but they're not sure what.

He is about 8 lbs and probably won't get much bigger(except for filling out). He has the most beautiful eyes that are light brown almost yellow. He has a very sweet disposition as soon as he is comfortable. He rides well, does good on a leash, and loves to cuddle. He is mostly housebroke. He will probably do best in a house with no more than 1 or 2 other dogs. He does get along well with dogs and cats.

We found Peyton through 911 Pet Rescue, Inc., in Centerpoint, Indiana.

For more information about Peyton, click here!
