Robbery Unit investigating robbery of phone kiosk

The Ottawa Police Service is investigating a retail robbery and is seeking the public’s assistance to identify the suspect.

On March 27, 2012 at approximately 7:10 pm, a suspect approached the employee at a cell-phone kiosk situated along the 3200 block of Greenbank Road. A note was passed to the employee making a demand for cellular phones. The suspect fled with a number of phones. There were no injuries.

The Ottawa Police Robbery Unit is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect. He is described as being a Caucasian male, 220 lbs (100 kg), husky build, late 20’s in age. (see attached image)

Robbery Unit investigatng Beechwood Bank Robberies

The Ottawa Police Service is investigating two related bank robberies.

On February 13, 2012, at approximately 10:15 am, a lone male suspect entered a bank situated in the 0-100 block of Beechwood Avenue. The suspect made a verbal demand for money and left the bank with an undisclosed quantity of cash. No weapon was seen and there were no injuries.

On Friday March 23, 2012, at 10:40 am, the same suspect entered the same bank. The suspect made a verbal demand for cash and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect was described as being a Caucasian male, skinny build, 5'6" (1.68 m), white-red-grey windbreaker, old blue jeans, dark grey shoes, wore a black scarf, aviator style sunglasses, and black gloves. In the previous robbery he carried a blue and grey Roots backpack. (see attached images)

The suspect may have been carrying a higher than usual amount of cash in the days following the March 23rd robbery.

Ottawa Police investigating a swarming in Westboro

The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit is investigating a swarming that occurred in the Westboro area.

On February 25, 2012, at approximately 7:00 pm, two male suspects approached a lone victim at the Westboro transit station at Scott Street. One suspect brandished a knife resulting in the victim’s jacket being cut through. No injury was sustained. The suspects fled with the victim’s cell phone.

The suspects are described as follow (see attached images):

Suspect # 1:Caucasian male, approximately 20 years of age, 6 feet tall (183 centimeters), slim build, clean shaven, “Buzz cut” hair, wearing a black hooded sweat shirt, blue jacket with grey sleeves and red sneakers.

Suspect #2:Caucasian male, approximately 20 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches (170 centimeters), medium build, clean shaven, short blond hair, wearing a grey jacket, blue jeans, and white high top runners.

Ottawa Police investigating two violent personal robberies

The Ottawa Police Service is investigating two separate personal robberies that are believed to be linked to one another.

On December 29, 2011, at approximately 1:10 am, officers of the Ottawa Police Service responded to a personal robbery that occurred at the transit station at the St. Laurent Mall. A female victim was waiting for a bus in the lower level of the transit station when she was approached by a male suspect asking for a “light”. The male was turned down, but re-approached the same victim several minutes later and suddenly reached for the victim’s cellular phone. When the victim resisted, the male produced a handgun, assaulted the victim and threw her to the ground. The male fled the scene with the victim’s purse, cellular phone and ipod. The victim was not injured as a result of the robbery and assault.

On December 29, 2011, at approximately 10:20 pm, a lone female victim was riding an OC Transpo bus in the Herongate area when she noticed two male suspects paying undue attention to her. At a bus stop, one male exited the bus and she was then approached by a suspect who was armed with a handgun. The suspect made a demand for money and the victim’s cellular phone. The suspect fled with the victim’s wallet and cellular phone. There were no injuries resulting from this robbery. The suspects were last seen running toward Cedarwood Drive.

The primary suspect is described as being a black male, mid twenties, slim build, approximately 5 feet 8 inches (173 centimeters), English speaking with a slight accent. At the time, the suspect had a thin beard which ran the length of his cheekbones to around his lower chin area. The male was wearing a dark blue or black jacket, a dark toque (possibly green), jeans and sneakers. (see attached image)

Ottawa Police investigating a bank robbery on Beechwood Avenue

The Ottawa Police Service is investigating a bank robbery that occurred earlier today.

On February 13, 2012, at approximately 10:15am, a lone male suspect entered a bank situated in the 0-100 block of Beechwood Avenue. The suspect made a verbal demand for money and left the bank with an undisclosed quantity of cash. No weapon was seen and there were no injuries.

The suspect is described as being a caucasian male, small build, 5 feet 5 inches (165 centimeters) tall, wearing a dark blue winter coat with a blue hooded jacket underneath, blue jeans, carrying a blue and grey Roots backpack (see attached pictures).

Ottawa Police investigating Jan 18 bank robbery

The Ottawa Police Service is investigating a bank robbery that occurred on Thursday, January 19, 2012.

At about 12:00pm, a lone male entered a bank in the 2700 block of Richmond Rd. The suspect approached a bank employee and produced a note making a demand for cash. No weapon was seen. The suspect fled with an undisclosed quantity of cash. There were no injuries resulting from the robbery.

The suspect is described as white, 30 years old, medium build, with dark eyes. He was wearing a short black jacket with a grey hat.

Ottawa Police investigating bank robbery

The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit is investigating a January 17/2012 bank robbery.

On Tuesday January 17, 2012, at approximately 3:35 pm, a lone male suspect entered a bank situated along the 1500 block of Bank St, (near Heron Rd). The suspect produced a note making a demand for cash. The suspect obtained an undisclosed quantity of cash and fled the area on foot. No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as being a Caucasian male, 20-25 years, approximately 6' tall, 190-210 lbs, small, dark goatee, wearing a black baseball cap with blue jays logo on it, shaved head, lack), dark nylon jacket with a plaid design at the chest with hood, beige shirt underneath, jeans. Spoke English with no accent (see attached image.)

Ottawa Police investigating car-jacking and two break-enters

The Ottawa Police Service is seeking the public's assistance in the investigation of a robbery/car-jacking and two residential break & enters.

On December 24, 2011, a lone female victim encountered two males aboard an OC Transpo bus in Orleans. The victim returned to her parked vehicle at the Orleans Park & Ride and ultimately agreed to provide a ride to the two suspects. She also, at one point, agreed to allow one of the suspects to drive the vehicle.

At a point, a suspect seated in the back seat of the vehicle reached forward began choking the victim. The suspects pulled the car over on a rural stretch of Tenth Line Road and removed the victim from her vehicle. As the suspects sped away in her car, the victim was able to flag down a passing motorist for assistance.

Ottawa Police have established that the same suspects proceeded to the Metcalfe area where they committed two residential break & enters in the 1600 block of 9th Line Road.

The suspects are described as follows:

Suspect #1: light skinned black male, possibly of mixed race, approximately 20-25 years old, 6'0 - 6'3 tall (183-190cm), average build, brown afro hairstyle approximately 3 inches long (8cm), with some "scruff" on his chin, narrow nose and spoke English with no accent. On the occurrence date he was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt.

Suspect #2: dark skinned black male, approximately 20-25 years old, 5'6 tall (168cm), stocky build, short groomed goatee on his face and spoke English with no accent. On the occurrence date he was wearing an olive green sweatshirt beneath a black winter vest.

Robbery Unit investigation St. Laurent Mall retail robbery.

The Ottawa Police Service is investigating a retail robbery that took place in the St. Laurent Centre on December 15, 2011.

The incident happened at about 4:40 pm, when three males, one armed with a gun, approached an employee and demanded money. The suspects fled the mall empty handed and left the area in a cab.

There were no injuries stemming from this incident.

The suspects are described as:

Male #1- Black, 18-22yrs, 6 ft (183 cm) tall, thin build, dark hair, wearing a black

hoodie, black puffy vest, jeans, ball cap and had a hand gun in waist band.

Male #2- Black, 18-22yrs, 6 ft (183 cm) tall, dark hair, wearing a grey hoodie and black puffy vest.

Male #3- Black, 18-22yrs, wearing a New York Yankees navy blue jacket.

Personal Robbery

On March 11^th, 2011 a male subject entered a business located within the 3300 block of McCarthy Rd. The suspect forced the lone female occupant into the back room where she was tied up and bound to a pole. The suspect searched the office and victim’s purse. The suspect used a stolen credit card to make a withdrawal from the victim’s account a short time later. The victim suffered minor injuries as a result of this incident. The suspect is described as being a Caucasian male, 5’-7” tall, medium build, English speaking.

Bank Robbery

On 25 February 2011, a lone suspect entered a bank in the 1600 block of Montreal Rd. The suspect presented a note making a demand for money. The suspect fled the bank before anything was obtained. This suspect is believed responsible for a similar incident on 25 February and another on 30 March of 2011. Both of those incidents occurred at a banking institution on Arch St. The suspect is described as being a black male, 19-20 years old, slim to average build, having very noticeable acne on his face.

Bank Robbery

On 8 May 2011, a lone male suspect entered a banking institution along the 3600 block of Strandherd Dr. The suspect brandished a handgun and made off with an undisclosed quantity of money. This suspect is also believed responsible for several bank robberies in the Greater Toronto Area. The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, late 40’s to early 50’s, clean shaven, salt & pepper hair, skinny, no accent, wearing round rimmed, dark grey glasses, a dark track suit and baseball hat.

On 17 August 2010, a male suspect entered a banking institution along the 1900 block of St. Laurent Bvd. The male produced a note making a demand for money. The suspect made off with an undisclosed quantity of money. The suspect is described as being a Caucasian male, medium build, 40-45 years of age, approx. 5’8”, with short reddish hair. and some facial hair.

On 29 September 2010, a lone male suspect entered a banking institution situated along the 400 block of Bank St. The male produced a note making a demand for money. The suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect is described as being a Caucasian male, approx. 40-50 years of age, approx. 5’3”, small build, with reddish/brown hair with a goatee. The same suspect is believed responsible for a similar incident at the same location on 10 March 2011,

Bank Robbery

On 6 March 2010, a lone male suspect entered a banking institution along the 2200 block of Riverside Dr. The suspect produced a note making a demand for cash. The suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect is described as being a Caucasian male, approx. 5’6” tall,, late 30’s, medium build. The suspect had scars above his right eye and jaw. Suspect left the scene in a taxi.

Bank Robbery

On December 15 2009, a lone male suspect entered a banking institution in the 1400 block of Richmond Rd. A note was produced making a demand for money. The suspect may have had red dye on his clothing or skin following the robbery. The suspect was described as a Caucasian male, 40-50 years, 6’ tall, salt & pepper hair, some grey facial hair, and he had a band-aid on his right cheek.

The Ottawa Police Service's Robbery Unit is looking to identify a male suspect in connection with a Bank Robbery that occurred in the 1100 block of Carling Avenue on August 15th, 2011. The suspect entered the bank holding a black handgun and approached a bank teller and demanded money. The suspect exited the bank with a sum of money.

The suspect is described as being a black male, in his mid-20's, with an average build.

Gas bar robbery- Bank Street

The Ottawa Police Service’s Robbery Unit is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect responsible for a gas bar robbery on May 13th, 2011.

May 13th, 2011 a lone male attended a gas bar located within the 1600 block of Bank Street, Ottawa. The male approached an employee who was in possession of the gas bar deposit. The male grabbed the deposit and ran off on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

Male described as white male, slim build, 20-30yrs, wearing a dark jacket, ball hat with denim jeans and dark shoes.

May 8th, 2011, a lone male entered a bank located within the 3100 block of Strandherd Drive, Ottawa. The male was armed with a silver coloured hand gun and made a demand for money. The male fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect is described as a white male, late 40's-early 50's, clean shaven, salt/pepper hair, spoke good English and wore round eye glasses.

Ottawa Police Service seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a male responsible for a bank robbery.

The Ottawa Police Service’s Robbery Unit is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect responsible for a bank robbery that occurred April 29th, 2011.

On April 29th, 2011, at approximately 3:00pm, a lone male entered a bank located within the 3100 block of Strandherd Drive, Ottawa. The suspect approached a teller and handed her a note demanding money. The suspect left the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. Suspect may have received burns from a dye pack which went off in his pocket.

Suspect described as a black male, late teens to early 20's, grey hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, black shoes, black hat and white gloves with mesh on top.
