Hi everyone! I am stopping by the blog today to show you a really great way to make a huge impact on a card and you don’t even have to be good at coloring!

My favorite thing to do as of late is to use my gold embossing powder, but not in just any way, in a bold way. I love the look of foiled paper, and this is a great and easy way to achieve the same rich look. First, start with a neutral, but colored card stock. For this card I went with the Gina K. “Moonlit Fog” card stock. I then gold embossed a flower form the Bold Blooms stamp set.

I then colored it using only ONE copic marker. The number I used was V09. I love how rich it looks. For the inside of the flower I randomly colored some of the leaves and left some open.

This gives a nice effect. I finished the card off with a background element from the Bold Blooms stamp set as well as a sentiment from the Poster Board Sentiments stamp set.

My first card today is using the new Free with Three set, “A Little Something”.

Keeping it simple and light, I made a birthday card using black onyx ink and some sequins. This is great because it can be made so quickly and yet look like a million bucks!

Throw some of those sequins in your envelope, and you will give your recipient a little surprise party

My next card is using the new Green Thumb Diva mini stamp set. I totally love how this sweet card came out!

I colored the diva in with copics, but then paper pieced her pants to match my accent card stock which I stitched down the sides using my sewing machine. This is a nice idea because you are just bring a little bit of the background accents into the foreground. I grounded that gingham paper by using it to set off my sentiment as well, which then brought the gingham in three times, which is what you want to strive for in good design. I also brought it into the front of my envelope I made.

I kept her colors as close to the patterned paper colors as possible. I shaded her in a light violet. Remember, shade has color!

I also finished off the back of my envelope I made with my Kreate-a-Lope envelope maker and glue. Notice the stitching detail I brought into the strip. Before you adhere the strip, just run it on the sewing machine. This now ties in with the card front!

Hope you enjoyed the inspiration today! Go check out the other designers!

My first card today features Theresa Momber’s new set, By the Sea 2! Theresa always inspires all with her use of colors and tutorials. Her silhouettes are just begging for a fun implementation of color. I used my copics and made a sand, sea and sun wash on white cardstock. This is a beautifully modern take on a Father’s Day card, and I am in love with the result. I made a matching envelope using my Kreate-a Lope again, and am looking forward to using this technique more.

For my second card using Beth Silaika’s new set Weather or Not, I got out my gold stickles again (yes…I am into the gold this week), and made those clouds, lightening bolts and boots a tad chic. Even though it was a bit hard to photograph, the gold stickles on the kraft is REALLY cool, so try it!

I used up some old Cosmo Cricket paper here to paper piece this sweet little note of thanks. I love how Cammie designed the thanks sentiment to fit into the heart. I topped it off witha little heart punch coming from the chimney.

I made matching envelopes for both of my cards using the Kreate-a-Lope templates and envelope glue. It really gives a nice added touch to receive a matching envie!

The newest set from Melanie Muenchinger called Pretty Patterns 2 is a great building set for all of your background making needs. This card highlights the background and uses the sentiment from the Mr. & Mrs. Diva mini stamp set on the front of the card.

I used gold stickles in between the Moroccan pattern. I have been a real sucker for gold these days. It’s making a huge comeback in fashion, and I am kind of digging it.

I used the main focal image from Mr. &Mrs. Diva inside! Simple, but quick!

I decided way back to make this a gold and black themed day. I was itching to see what my Bold Blooms set would look like in gold embossing powder. I am SO glad I did this. Holy smokes is it impressive.

Using Bold Blooms and Poster Board Sentiments, I set about making a card that would just be a jaw dropper. I “gold dusted” the edge of the die cut holding the sentiment. I just ran my versamark ink around the edge of the die cut and then used the gold embossing powder. This gives it a dusted look that I just think is so cool!

Then I went about making my own envelope for my card using my Kreate-a-Lope envelope maker, which I am now completely obsessed with. And the lick and stick glue that comes with it? It’s perfection, and it is SO FAST. If you don’t believe me, they have a video on their site showing how fast it is. I am no longer going to buy a single envelope. I had some old 8×8 SEI papers in my stash which matched nicely, so I went to town creating a stunning gold foil (yes, it is actually gold foil on that paper) matching envelope.

Today is the day! Join the design team over at Stamp TV this evening at 7pm central time, and be inspired by the projects and grab yourself some great stamps after you see the full reveals!

I am here today to introduce to you my new stamp set, Bold Blooms. Bold Blooms is available in clear, and there is also the Silhouette cut files available for purchase as well. Bold Blooms grabs your attention and will soon be your go-to favorite. I couldn’t put these babies down! Want to take a look?

The big beautiful flouncy peonies are just to die for. I have also included two masking files in the Silhouette files for the two big blooms in this set, so you can easily mask and not have to fussy cut. I shaded these flowers with a violet. Do you know what I learned? Shade is always a color. Not gray or black, but shade has actual color to it. Try shading using a color instead of gray. You will love it! I used my Poster Board sentiments stamp set to pair with my blooms in this card.

Here are more of these beautiful blooms using black embossing and coloring the kraft card stock with white ink using a dauber and a white gel pen. Is this striking or what? This has to be my favorite look of them all. Notice the little white gel pen highlights in the leaves? Just makes them pop! Again, the sentiments are from Poster Board Sentiments.

This was great fun! Using all of the Gina K. blue cardstock colors, I created this very classic yet modern color block to feature my white embossed bloom on. The sentiment is from the Free with 3 set this month! How perfect!

How about some more blue? This time I took a myriad of Gina’s blue inks and created this vignetted background along with dark blue flecks (using ye olde toothbrush technique). I then embossed the large hydrangea bloom on top and added the bold sentiment from Cami’s Stamp it Big! 2 set.

Here’s a fun thing to do with this bold bloom! Stamp onto color card stock with white ink and shade around the white using a marker which is a tad darker. Great idea if you don’t feel like coloring. What a fun look, even on the leaves! The sentiment is again from Stamp it Big! 2.

Or…feel free to color!

I added some other great little flowers in this set, too, along with their leaves. This allows you to make some great one sheet wonders as backgrounds to your cards. Look at all of these great Gina K colors. Are you excited about all of the color companions, too? Finished off with these sweet sequins to match makes a perfect birthday card for a little girl. Sentiment used is from Poster Board Sentiments.

Hope you are inspired! Go and have a visit to the other illustrator’s blogs to see their new sets!

Hello all! So excited to give you a little peak of my new set, Bold Blooms (See other little sneak peek project HERE) which comes out this week. This full set of bold flowers will sure to be a hit when you want to send a card that makes a big statement!

The card I am sharing today, I stamped onto vellum and used white embossing powder. I wanted to frame my image, and I knew I wanted it to be embossed, so I simply took my versamark ink pen and simply squiggled (that is a technical term) all around the frame. I really like how organic it looks with the flower. Next, when the image was dry, I colored on the BACK side of the vellum. This is great, because you don’t have to worry about coloring over your white embossing powder and staining it. I used Red Hot card stock here, and wanted to make sure it matched perfectly, so I had to experiment. You can’t just use a copic which is the same color as the card stock, because it won’t match since you are coloring on vellum and the color gets diffused. I found a great match in, of all things, RV19 Red Violet, which looks like fuschia all by itself.

Crazy, right? That is why when using vellum, you need to get a scrap piece and work on the perfect color match. After I colored the back of the vellum, I used my mono multi glue (the glue in a white bottle) and simply…wait for it…glued behind the flower and my frame line along the white embossing. Yup. No vellum glue required, but be careful . I then added a sentiment from Poster Board Sentiments using red hot ink (Poster Board Sentiments will be back in stock in two or three weeks), and I was done! So this card, even though it looks impressive, was fast to make.

Head on over to Tami and Cammi’s blog to see what beauties they have created today for you using their new sets! And of course, to Gina’s blog to see ALL of the sneak peeks she has for you this whole week until the release!

No, this is not a paid advertisement for this app, but if you are lucky enough to have a Walgreens in your area, I not only highly suggest downloading this app, but I hope they get a lot of business from this post!

Printicular is an app is available on both iPhone or Android smart phone platforms which allows users to choose the photographs they wish to have printed at your local Walgreens. When you open the app you can choose where you would like to select your pictures from. The screen looks like this:

What is really nice about this is that you don’t have to move your pictures from one place to another. You can just simply choose where you would like to pull them from. This was a screenshot from my phone which is a Samsung Galaxy, so your iPhone may look different in terms of choices. Once you choose where to pull your pictures from, you will be able to select each picture you would like by simply touching them. You may upload 50 at a time for printing. At the end you will be given an option what size you would like your pictures printed – Keep your eyes open for this. It is a small option in the upper right hand corner. I suggest getting batches of the same size pictures. I am not sure if you can mix or match sizes. You may go back and select more pictures to be printed, but just remember where you left off. My project Life book has turned into an Instagram only platform of scrapbooking for me, so I choose the 4×4 option for printing. This allows for a perfect square 4×4 image and you don’t have to trim them at all to fit in the We R Memory Keepers 4×4 protective sleeves.

The printing is done in one hour, and the quality is excellent. Right now Printicular is running a promotion for 25% off of your orders. The code is PARTNER25. So go have some Printicular fun and download this app now!
