One of the few things I’ve learned about blogging is to watch the news items showing up in my dashboard. Those little, ever changing grey boxes really are fairly awesome for highlighting new themes and other amazing plugins, but they also give you some serious insight into how blogging actually WORKS.

One of their newer articles covers ‘Digg saturation’. Basically, they say that if you’ve got lots of Diggs, Google ‘loves’ you more. Which makes a fair amount of sense. Digg is one of the social bookmarking success stories of the internet, and if people are voting for others on there - there’s got to be something in it, right?

Google, by admission, puts more ‘weight’ on sites with more incoming links - and it appears it treats each vote on Digg as either part of a whole incoming link, or a complete incoming link. While I can’t specify HOW exactly they’ve weighted their formula, I can say, for the moment, sites with lots of Diggs do really well on Google’s index.

Has anyone started to use podcasting, I’ll tell you why you
should, and what could happen to your business if you do.

When Gretchen Vogelzang and Paige Henunger decided to produce weekly broadcasts about parenting and related issues about 2 years ago, they created a site called mommycast.com.

There they posted a little thing called podcasts. Podcasts are audio recordings available for downloads to your home computer.

What’s amazing about this site is what happened. By the spring of 2006, their audience numbered more than 100,000, and they also had major corporations come aboard as sponsors.

At about the same time, a site called rightlook.com, began
producing Internet Radio shows, about how to operate auto
detailing businesses.

Overture saw that the internet was fast becoming the easiest
and most convenient way to shop, and advertising was going
to hit at an all time high because of the many businesses
in the arena.

To get a person to go to your site rather than others, it
needs to be very visible. Providing ads that could direct
potential consumers and customers to your site would allow
you to have an increase in traffic as well as sales.

Yahoo provides a service that can put a site or company’s ad
in their sites that can be shown when certain keywords are
inputted.

Yahoo offers a chance for any company to increase their traffic
by using their services. With more people being aware of your
site, there would be more traffic and visitors to your site
given the chance to view your pages as well as your products.

Which colour of traffic light do you want your business
to run with?

I’d pick green, hope you would to. Green Traffic lights mean
you want your business to keep flowing with traffic. If you
picked the red lights, then your in the wrong business.

Traffic means everything to your site, if you have a great
sales page or even a crappy one, it won’t matter, if you don’t
have, yea that’s right, traffic.

Do you know everything there is to know, on how to get as much
traffic as possible? I doubt it, there are more ways popping up
all the time in this web2.0 era.

We’ve been teaching you many different ways here on the blog,
and all of them have to be implemented sooner or later.

I will tell you something, some of you won’t want to hear. I have no
idea what niche you are in, or how long you have been in your
niche.

Did you know you have to track just about everything that
you put out on your site, to see exactly what is happening
and where it is happening?

What I mean is you need to track your:

. Headline
. Paragraphs on your conversion page (all of them)
. Your thousands of keywords you need to get (not all at once)
. Your different types of keywords(yes there are different types)
. Your autoresponder mailings

Like I said just about everything is needed to be tracked
to see exactly where and when your traffic clicks that big
red X in the upper right hand corner of your page.

When you track that, you know what needs to be changed, try
something else in that spot, and track that.
