RE: Been off radar a bit

Hi Michaela,
I know what that struggle is like. I think your plan is a wise one. Just focus on resting and getting through each day. Those platelets may go up slightly by next week, and it will be really helpful to see the PCR. I know you want to finish 24 weeks, but in your situation, 16 just may be enough.
I also know what you mean about being with other people. I feel like I'm in my own little world. I may listen to music or watch TV or just stare into space. It's not really a bad place to be, just not very social. It's amazing how I can feel pretty okay in the morning and get a few things done, but in the afternoon/evening I feel like I just climbed Everest.
I hope you can continue this interesting adventure as long as it takes. You are so close now to being rid of this forever.
Best of luck,

sorry the tx is not going to plan - it rarely seems to! Like you i would be desperate to complete the course, but it is a gamble with those blood results. All the best whatever you decide.
Thinking of you

hi skip

I haven't been around much lately - i could use my cruise as an excuse but that was only 2 weeks! Just wanted to say how much i enjoyed reading your thread charting the daily grind of tx sides. It is something i meant to do on my blog but somehow never managed to be disciplined enough - of course I could kick myself now for being so lazy.

Anyway, keep up the good work - hope you have a good weekend. If Scotland is having similar weather to Wales then you won't have to worry about it being to hot today - it is pouring with rain here.

cheers
Hi Ms Pink

Whilst everything looks bleak at the moment and you think your life is ruined, you have to remember advances in medical science can make a difference. When I was 19 I stupidly got involved with drugs and was co-infected with HIV and Hep C. My doctor and the rest of the world thought I was going to die within a couple of years as that was what was happening at that time. I felt doom and gloom and had no vision of the future. However it didn't happen due to medical breakthroughs. Now 24 years later, my HIV is simply an inconvenience to me as it is managed by drugs and although treatment for Hep C didn't work for me, I know that there will be new drugs along soon and am confident that even if I don't get 'cured', I believe that soon my Hep C will be managed by drugs just like my HIV.

Please don't be despondent. Try to think of other areas in your field where you would be able to work. Don't think long term at this time as you haven't even had a chance to think about treatment. Take each day as it comes and be sure that one day the Hep C will not rule your life.

None of us know what is round the corner so enjoy your life and think positively.

Very best wishes and good luck.
No way, it's not from the lab!
because during my whole study, I did not use any syringes or even contact with any blood, we was works only on small amounts in tubes!
My whole studying time was only 2 years and half so, I remember very well that I did not have any accidents in the lab!

I'm now kind off get over from thinking about how I get the Virus, but thinking in my futureand is dragging me back to the Zero point!!

Hi,

Well done on your journey so far,

I myself could not have given up smoking at the same time. Well done

But if you do relapse, no problem you have bigger things going on.

Take care and good luck !

dear ms pink ,
welcome to the forum ;your english is very good but in any case we all understand the distress , despair and isolation of your situation more especially as you are a female from Saudi which to me suggests you possess a great degree of personal courage which is a great asset . So i hope that the forum provides some comfort in that your search has been rewarded by you realising that you are not alone , even though we are miles apart in cyberspace .
I think your work in a laboratory is still a likely source of you acquiring hepc . you suggest blood does sometimes appear in your lab?? apart from syringes accidental splashes of blood into the eye has been described ????. so you need to think back about any accidents in the lab . did you have negative test before you started work in the lab???
There is a lot to learn about hepc on this forum but take it bit by bit as trying to take it all in at once can be overwhelming , Secondly ,in general , being a British forum difficult or unpleasant facts /questions are tackled openly but you will learn this as you observe other posts/threads.
best wishes mike
