Ola guapa. Told you in the last post about my new fur jacket. Well here she is, in all her glory. And god, I'm so happy with her. Bought her in a cool vintage shop close to my house. Madrid is actually vintage heaven. Could walk for years in this beautiful city watching the beautiful buildings and in search for the secret vintage shops. Wearing the outfit with the new shoes from my lovely guy. The necklace is also new, saw it for only 5 euro's in this little shop, screaming my name, so couldn't refuse ofcourse (I have problems with refusing, that's for sure haha). I could persuade Amber (also a dutch student living the good life in Madrid) to take these pictures and I'm so thankful for that, she sure got skills!

Good morning dears. Excited to show you what just came in my mailbox! My guy gave me the original JC lita's and I'm so happy with them. I've always still wanted the originals because they can be matched with every outfit. I wanted to get these heels to wear on a daily basis and not being afraid for it to get dirty. I also bought the most amazing white fur jacket. Going to make a look with them soon. I've been looking for a white fur jacket for ages and I'm thrilled I finally found it. Madrid is full with amazing vintage shops so I feel like I'm in vintage heaven. It's only dangerous for my wallet and I have no idea how I'm going to get all those clothes home after 5 months. That's going to be a total suitcase nightmare.

Ola guapa. 20 years ago on 4 February 1992 I was born in the south of the Netherlands in a big snow storm. Yes you read it correctly, today is my birthday. I'm not a teenager any more! Happy birthday to me.

Tomorrow will be the last day of my first week in Madrid and I'm falling in love with the city. I left Holland just in time because it's extremely(!) cold there right now. Madrid feels like spring, I love the sun! I asked my roommate today to make pictures to show you the new white shoes from the last post and my Michael Jackson shirt. I will always love his music and his inspiring clothes. I would love to rock all his shiny jackets.

I'm an official Madrid inhabitant since today yeah! I arrived two days ago and stayed at a hotel for two nights. After that I finally could move in to my apartment. I live in a great house with other international students located in Chueca which is best known as the gay district of Madrid. Chueca is full with the best loungebars, cocktailbars and shops. I actually live in the most famous shoe street of Madrid!! Maybe not the best place for my impulsive shopping addiction as my parents like to call it. The shoes of the picture are new (yeah, my first item from madrid). I saw them at zara for 19 euro (used to be 79), so I couldn't resist. Also because I couldn't bring my own amazing white heels from back home so this felt like the perfect replacement.

I really have to adjust to the sudden change in life's routine. Everything is different so that means that I have to change all my habits which isn't always the easiest. The weather is amazing though! It feels like spring with sun all day. It's the perfect weather to shoot pictures for my blog.. the only problem.. my beloved photographer doesn't live in Madrid. I currently do not have someone who can provide me amazing pictures which feels terrible. big time. So we'll just have to be patience. ( not that I'm capable of that haha ). I'm now going to watch the latest gossip girl serie and spend my first night in my new room!

This will be my last official post coming from the Netherlands. I'm flying tomorrow morning to Madrid (going to study there for 5 months for the people who didn't know yet). Packing was a stressful nightmare. Even though 2 big suitcases are filled with clothes, I still have the feeling like I'm leaving empty handed. I can't bring a lot of shoes so I have the perfect excuse to go shopping in Spain haha. About this post; Isn't this bag the cutest!. I was saying goodbye to my grandma when she had a visitor. She had this bag with her and I fell in love with it immediately and asked her where I could find it. When she left she handed the bag over and gave it to me!! I never met her before and she just gave her bag to me because I loved it so much. I'm one lucky girl.

My guy is a big fan of black and white photography. I admire a lot of great black/white pictures but for some reason I always prefer colour ones for my blog. I think it's always refreshing though to try something new right, leave the old pattern. The last photo is in colour because I wanted to show you what I've been doing to my hair. I'm in dying-process. I want the bottom of my hair a lot lighter than my black hair on top. I'm taking my time getting there. I don't want to damage my hair to much so I'm dying it lighter in phases. I'm now leaving it brown(ish red) for some time before dying it again. Curious how it's going to look in the end though. Even though this legging is amazing, (found it somewhere hidden in H&M a year ago) I hardly ever wear it because it hurts while sitting haha. I'm serious, the diamonds and stones on the legging are also located on the ass part, not that great for my train-bus-subway-tram life.

I'm thrilled to finally upload a new look. My fellow Dutch bloggers will totally agree with me that it's a horrible time to shoot pictures outside. There is hardly any light outside and the wind behaves like a woman with PMS, unpredictable and bitchy. But as a true blogger warrior, I went to battle to show this amazing new skirt. I found it in the ZARA, for sale, yes lucky me. I see myself wearing this on a daily basis when the sun comes to the rescue and bare legs are capable to survive outside, With only a week left till my Madrid adventure starts, I'm beginning to stress about all the clothes I want to bring. I have two big suitcases and one small one. I wish to bring my whole closet, which of course does not fit, so I'm currently making 'favourites lists', with all the clothes I absolutely cannot live without. Mission impossible.

I've always loved these shoes. I personally do not wear sneakers but my boyfriend does and he has some great, special items! His size is slightly bigger than mine but I can still wear his shoes (with 3 layers of socks to fake an extra size) if I want. I just had to steal these fierce shoes and make a post about them. I just think they are so unique. I have to leave my blog again to (force myself to) study. My exams start tomorrow so I cannot post a new look for some days. So let's say; to be continued :-)

First of all. About this look. I bought these Dr. Martens today and I'm looking forward to finally wearing comfortable shoes. You don't want to know which shitty shoes I've been wearing lately. But that phase has ended!! + I haven't worn this shiny (vintage) 'jacket' for ages but decided to pull it out of the closet again to show it some respect.^-^

*There were some questions and remarks on my last post. I read all your comments and they are very important to me so I want to answer a couple of questions and explain my vision on those items. Because of the length of the story you can click on the 'read more' to see the whole text. <3

First of all, I know that a lot of people are curious about where the items I show on the blog come from. I know that almost all the bloggers have a list under their pictures with the information about the clothes they are wearing but I consciously don't do it that way. I see my blog as a (very) personal style blog where I express how I think and of course what I'm wearing. My biggest wish (and reason for having this blog) is to inspire other people to embrace themselves and to find their own personal style which they feel comfortable about and dare to wear without fear. I don't want my blog to become a site full of brands and shops because for starters that gives those brands and shops profit and power. The more important bloggers have become, the more companies try to use PR by bloggers as a way to beat other companies. As an advertising student I know a little to well how this goes. I personally only want to support art and love. And second of all; I don't want my blog to be only about 'where I got it'. I believe style is all about your own individual journey. You shouldn't just want to know where people buy stuff so you can dress 'fashionable' but you should go expore it yourself. That's the most fun thing about buying clothes after all. I only wish to play the 'inspiration role' and not the 'leading role' (And as you may noticed, I wear mostly vintage. The sweater and blouse of the last picture were vintage too).

My YSL rings.., the next topic haha. I got some questions about them. When I bought them in Paris I did a post about them so a lot of you already know that they are real. But for the new visitors: they are definitely from YSL. I personally wil never wear fake brands. I believe that if you want to wear items that are obviously designed by a specific brand and even has that certain logo that you should buy the real item or you shouldn't buy it at all.

I'm not a fan of sweaters at all but I couldn't resist this fluffy cuddly soft white item. The winters in Holland are grey, windy and rainy. I prefer to wear as much white as I can to hype up my energy and positivity. Every time I touch this sweater it feels like I'm cuddling the sweetest animal. By the way; I'm ordering my own camera tomorrow and I'm extremely looking forward to it. All my blog pictures are taken by the (amazing) camera of my guy so I'm seriously dependent. With finally getting my own camera I'm able to take daily pictures. Great way to start 2012 right. ^-^

I just love this quote from Gossip Girl. I actually love all the lines blair says in the show and I can see the emotion on her face when I picture her saying this line haha. I was wearing this jacket on top of the see through blouse of the last post. The outfit of the last post looks so much different with only a jacket on top of it. Amazing how one piece can change a whole look and attitude so it deserves a different post. I'm still in love with the unique jacket which I found in a vintage shop in Amsterdam.

Hallo dears!! I'm currently sitting in my lovely room in Amsterdam enjoying it for the last time. I'm moving on Saturday because of my half year living in Madrid. I have a lot of sad and happy memories to this house and I really enjoyed living here for 2,5 years. I'm flying on 29 January to Madrid but first I have 2 weeks of exams ahead of me.. not looking forward to that! But anyhow about my look: I'm wearing a vintage white see through blouse with some gold jewellery. When I first saw the blouse I was hesitating because I don't want to look to exposed with men staring like I'm running around naked seeking for attention, but I forced myself to just go for it. Nothing wrong with showing some skin. I believe that while we're still young we should break all the rules and enjoy wearing risky clothes. There is no fun in keeping it safe. When I'm old I want to look back at my life and laugh about the clothes I was wearing and be proud of the courage I showed.

Hope you all had some great christmas days!? My christmas -> Lots of food (too much food), lots of laughter and best of all lots of love. I found some time to make pictures on this amazing location. Wearing a new vintage jacket and my most (and only) comfortable shoes. Every time you see me wearing these shoes it means that I have to walk a lot that day. These are absolutely my shopping shoes. Good morning my dears. I already told you about the crazy creative vibe I get in the evening so it's not strange to believe that I'm posting this 3:20 in the (veryyy) early morning. My guy is sleeping as a sweetiepie next to me waiting for me to come to bed. I just couldn't sleep without finally finishing this post. This post just took me too long with waiting for the pictures etc. But here it finally is, better late than never right. And the only thing I absolutely need to tell you about this look is the amazing necklace I'm wearing. It's such a statement piece. I met this interesting and extremely nice girl, Sara, who has her own webshop called www.bohemianstyle.nl. She sells one of a kind jewellery like this necklace but also bags and shoes with all an ethnic bohemian vibe. They are actually all made by hand in Marrakech! I just love items that has these unique cultural background. They tell a story and just feel so personal.

Sorry for my lack of updating! I still don't have the pictures I need in order to post a new look, I will get them tomorrow. But for now, let's dream about the summer, the sun and the blue sky. Close your eyes and try to see yourself standing in a field of flowers with a romantic dress on feeling the soft wind on your face and the warm sun on your skin. Summer is my season for sure. We made some pictures today for a new look. Have to wait till I get the photos though, hope I can share them tomorrow. This post is about one of my animal blouses. I have so many different animal print shirts that it kinda seems like I'm collecting them haha. I'm just a sucker for a good tiger, panther, lion and zebra print. Hello Dears. I'm posting this while I'm sitting in my room, warm and cosy. I'm hearing the rain and wind around the house and I'm glad to be inside. The title is a quote from the song appletree from Erykah Baduh. She is one of the most inspirational women I know. I really suggest everyone to look at her lyrics and try to understand what message she wants to bring.

I believe that the friends that you have in your life, really tells something about the person you are. I believe that you shouldn't have negative people in your life. The people who you surround yourself with have an enormousness impact on your thoughts, behaviour and even personality. You should be with positive, inspiring and motivating people constantly. You should never call someone your 'friend' if they don't give you freedom in expressing yourself. A lot of people give unasked unmotivated judging opinions that unconsciously lock you in a box and keep you from living up to your full potential. Even though these people can surely be fun to hang out with, you should choose your friends carefully. You should pick your friend like you pick your fruit.

I tend to get a serious creative and artistic vibe filled with inspiration in the middle of the night so it's not a surprise to me that I'm writing this post at 2:35 in the (early) morning. First thing first: my look. I wanted to show you this new vintage blouse//top/piece. I love the fabric and pattern. I kinda feel good in clothes that make me look like a crazy painting from another century. I'm wearing a H&M sparkly legging underneath to bring the top extra power. And I thought that the legging would balance the top just because the fabrics are both so 'out there'.
Then about my title: There is so much competitive female behaviour in the world that totally destroys the balance in life. Women tend to compare themselves to other women and measure their confidence on that information. And then I don't only mean the looks and clothes but also the degrees, the personality and the behaviour of the other women. If you notice that you can 'top' that women then you immediately gain energy and feel confident. But if you see that the other women has certain things that you don't possess but wish to, then you can feel terrible. Most of the times you start to talk bad about that women just to feel better of yourself. I just want to remind that if you see a 'perfect' person and feel the boiling 'jealousy' coming up that just because she is sexy, intelligent and well dressed that doesn't mean that you're not. That she is pretty doesn't mean that you're ugly.
