Our blog today was written by Andrew Cass, Double your income in 2012. Ask anyone their thoughts on how to double, triple, or even quadruple your income in the New Year and you’d surely find answers like: “get more leads” or “create new products and services” or “sell more.”

All correct answers by the way. But why a.re so few able to simply do these things year after year? Why will this time next year, for many, look and feel almost identical to the way it looks at the end of this year, with very little income change?

The answer may surprise you. And it’s the reason so few accomplish what they set out to when a New Year begins. It’s the reason so many get derailed from their New Year resolutions or their New Year goals, usually within only a few short weeks. It’s THE reason so many business fail, so fast.

The answer is: “Distraction.”

It’s the silent business killer. Like cancer in the body, Distraction slowly, quietly creeps up on us, day in and day out, and ever so discreetly takes us further and further away from what’s really important. And to make matters worse, we are now in the “Distraction Age” with more connected technology and gadgets than EVER before to take our eye off the ball. But only if you let it. Like cancer, Distraction can be prevented and fought. But only by the proactive…

So how does one proactively fight Distraction?

Today, I’ll give your three powerful tips to do it so you can put yourself in a position to double, even triple your income in 2012:

1) Make a list of all the devices you use throughout the day that are “turned on” and able to interrupt you from your “revenue producing” work. Ex: cell phone, email, instant message, facebook, etc. Just write down what is “turned on” throughout your day. Do this right now before going to #2. I’ll wait right here.

2) Choose one to two “one hour” blocks of time throughout your day where you turn ALL of it off. OFF. Maybe an hour in the morning and an hour in the afternoon. Maybe only for an hour in the morning to start. But OFF. Now work, really work and focus on “one thing” during this block of time (or two) where all Distractions are silenced from your personal productivity space. One hour only, then you can go crazy and turn it all back on again. You’re off the hook.

3) Now, for the difficult accountability part that most will never do (which is why most will be no further ahead next year), track this daily “in writing.” Grab a journal. I call it a Personal Productivity Journal. At the end of each day, write down your results. Did you block out the time(s) today to work Distraction Free? If yes, write it in, if no, write it in. Now check your results at the end of the week. How did you do?

The big question is…

Would YOU want to work for you? Or should you fire yourself? The answer is right in front of you. Anyone who can’t discipline themselves to work Distraction Free for only one to two hours “per day” is in trouble. However, those who will, benefit BIG and eventually build off this and work Distraction Free for even more than one or two hours each day. Just so you know, those are the top 2% of income earners in the world.

IF you’re tough enough to do this, and track it, you will double (maybe even triple) your weekly productivity which, very often, translates to an equal increase in cash flow.

To your success,

Think about this for a moment: what are Two important things for your future happiness? I hope you didn’t say your collection of 80′s music and your car! No! The two most important things for your future happiness are your family (which includes friends) and your business! Without these things you will be unlikely to achieve great financial success, and if you did you wouldn’t have anyone to share it with.

Because these two things are both so important to living a happy and fulfilling life, you want to make certain to give as much attention possible to each of them.

That’s why it’s crucial to learn how to properly balance your work and family life – so that you can get the most from, and give the most to, both of them.

When you think about balance, you might think about trying to keep everything perfect. 50-50. Equal. That’s good, but try to think of this instead (because it will make things easier for you) – balance is a process, and things don’t get into balance and then just stay that way. It’s something you have to work at and be willing to make adjustments to.

So I’m NOT going to tell you how to create balance and give you the idea that once you’ve done that you can forget about it. I’m going to tell you how to create balance between your family and business and then how to continually keep that balance maintained, knowing that some days might seem a bit out of whack one way or the other. It’s the overall effect of balance you’re striving for, along with making sure that the important things aren’t being forgotten.

While your MLM business is critical to your future, your happiness and your financial well-being, you’re in business for the benefit of you and your family – you’re doing this so that you can achieve financial freedom, and the freedom to choose how to spend your time.

The two concepts of time management and prioritizing come into play when working to achieve business/family balance. Take time to list your priorities. Which business activities are must-do things? Which ones are things that would be nice to do and certainly helpful, but not vital to your ultimate success? Which can you outsource?

What about your family and friends – your personal life? What things don’t you want to miss out on? Going to you child’s soccer games? Taking your spouse out for a date once a week? Spending an evening with friends? Is it a priority to attend regular religious services, or to participate regularly in a hobby or club with friends. What can safely be set aside? TV watching? Can you go out one night less per week?

Take a good look at what your priorities are remembering that both business and personal life will suffer without enough attention. There will be places where you’re simply wasting time and energy. Let your family and friends know that this business is something that you must pay close attention to – help them understand what your long term goals are. But keep in mind that without family and friends, your success won’t be worth it. They need your attention to.

Now look at the time you have available to spend on both your personal and MLM life. See how you can schedule your time in order to accommodate both aspects. Yes, you may have to cut some things out. You may need to consider outsourcing certain tasks, or getting up an hour early to get some work done.

Remember that balance is like walking a tight rope; you have to constantly be paying attention and making adjustments so that you don’t fall to one side.

Place proper value on both your family and your MLM business and let go of the things that just aren’t important. That’s how you’ll achieve balance.

To your success,

Why would you choose Network Marketing? Think about this. One of the greatest joys in life is to be able to travel – to see the beautiful places, and enjoy the thrill of the exotic. What a great opportunity for fun and relaxation!

Now I’m not talking about the weekend camping trips here (the kind that come complete with mosquitoes and pay showers). I’m talking about vacation-of-a-lifetime trips. The kind most people only dream of. Distant lands, sunny beaches, majestic mountain vistas, you name it!

Have you been able to treat yourself or your family to that kind of a dream vacation? The kind where you fly or cruise off to big fun, new faces and exciting places? The kind that you proudly show photos of to your friends and neighbors? Better yet, have you been able to take that kind of a vacation on a regular basis? If not… why not?

You’re probably thinking that as soon as you win that big lottery, the first thing you’ll do is book a cruise around the world. Great idea, but winning the lottery probably isn’t going to happen.

Don’t be foolish by spending your days just dreaming about treating yourself and your family to vacation adventures, while you’re stuck in a job that is getting you nowhere, or waiting to hold the winning lottery ticket in your hand! There is a way that you can make taking the ultimate dream vacation a reachable goal.

Take a moment to imagine yourself on a skiing vacation in the Alps, the frosty air kissing your face as you whisk down a slope. Now, think about Paris, or Rio De Janeiro, or the Scottish Highlands. Imagine visiting places such as these, learning about people in different countries and enjoying all the wonderful sights and moments that would come with visiting the vacation destinations that you fantasize about.

To get there you have to be ready to take action and to not give up until you see your fabulous dreams of vacations and so much more become a reality. If you’ve got the drive to start taking charge of your own financial life, to become a go-getter entrepreneur, you’ve got what it takes to make your dreams a reality.

You have to be ready to turn your ultimate dream into a reachable goal!

You’re not going to be able to achieve these dreams just by working in a regular job, for a regular wage. You need to do something differently. To get the dream vacation every year, you need to stop working on a wage and start working on a fortune.

One of the easiest ways to build a second income from home is with Network Marketing. Network Marketing is the idea that a company will pay you to recommend and promote their products, just like how you already recommend the good books you read and good movies you see. With the power of network marketing you get paid for doing what you already do, and you get to build up an income stream that will take you and your family on all the dream vacations you can handle.

Think about the possibilities …

This is great information written by a top recruiter Tom Challan on Recruiting to build your business. This is how a master recruiter works. Tom says…. When I started my home based business years ago, I always focused on DIALS. I thought if I hit my target number of DIALS, then I would have success and build momentum. It sounds like a good plan, right?

I personally used to use this “dials” mindset as a crutch, you probably have experienced the same thing. I used to waste my time and tell myself “Okay well I made my 100 dials today but no luck, maybe I will recruit someone tomorrow.”

But after both of my cars were repossessed, and everything in my life started falling apart, I knew that I needed to do things a DIFFERENT way. When I got back into the home based business after my downfall, I didn’t have the luxury to just depend on “dials”, I had to get RESULTS. I did NOT want to waste my time anymore.

So from that point on I developed this mindset:

“I am going to enroll at LEAST one person into my home based business today.”

A lot of you are probably saying “I could never get to one person per day”, but please listen carefully. Even if you only want to enroll TWO people per month, you STILL need to have this mindset of 1 per day. No matter how many days per week you work on your business, you need to have this type of thinking. No matter if you work on your business once a week or five times a week, its something that you need to do. If you shoot for the stars, you wont hit the ground. And the worst case scenario is maybe you “only” enroll 4 or 6, maybe even 8 people into your business that month, I can bet that is STILL more than most people in your company!

It may take a few weeks, or even a few months to get to this level, but pretty soon you WILL be at this level of recruiting one person per day, and your business will start to grow unbelievably. A couple years ago when I personally enrolled 500 people for that one year, I spent less than 4 hours per DAY recruiting on the days that I DID work. Pretty soon it becomes like anything else, it becomes second nature!

When you first tried to tie your shoes, did you automatically know how to do it? Probably not unless you were a super child or something! But nowadays, do you even think about it? No! It is second nature to you and you can do it with your eyes closed. That is how it is with prospecting and recruiting. Once you get into the flow, and once you put in the TIME and repetition, you can get to the point where you might even be recruiting 2 or 3 or even MORE per day! Its all about putting in the time and effort.

I hope you enjoyed Tom’s insights…

All the best,

It’s time for all of us to set our goals and update our vision boards for 2012. Many of us take time this time of the year to put together Your 2012 New Years Resolutions And Goals. As New Years fast approaches I’m sure everyone has given thought to their New Years Resolutions. What do you want to be, do and have in 2012? I believe that New Years Resolutions don’t work unless you set True Goals – goals that have everything you need to be able to achieve them. I wanted to share a quick outline on how to make a True Goal with the hope that your New Years Resolutions this year will result in making 2012 the best year of your life.

Here goes -
A True Goal needs three things:

Vision, Mission, and Strategy

Vision Provides a Picture – answering What?
Mission Provides Purpose – answering Why?
Strategy Provides a Plan – answering How?

A true goal requires that you identify what you want, feel a deep sense of why you want it and then develop a plan as to how you will achieve it.

To develop your strategy – there are four simple questions to ask. They are:

Who has done it?
How did they do it?
What are the obstacles?
What are the solutions?

When you set a goal with vision, mission and strategy – you dramatically increase your odds of achieving it.

Make 2012 your best year Ever!

What is Christmas joy? Why do people seem so much more caring about others? Well for me, Christmas is a Season, a major event and experience. It’s like a beautiful story, a big book or a really good movie..

It starts at Thanksgiving as December draws closer. The music comes, the decorations appear. Outside its getting colder and the days are shorter but in our home the Christmas joy experience starts taking place.

All the Christmas movies we watch, every evening a different one. With popcorn and cola. Every day we take out another one of our Christmas boxes and put up some decorations; this way decorating for Christmas is relaxed and fun instead of stressful.

What thrills me is that we’re all in this together. And that isn’t about family or friends; it’s us as a country all together into Christmas.

Commercials, stores, store windows, music on the radio, people doing Christmas shopping, Christmas decorations appearing everywhere, everything Christmas theme. On TV popular series have the time in their make believe world synced to ours and we see them having Christmas. The Christmas classics appear.

For a couple of weeks we’re all one, sharing the same experience, living the same life. It’s not that I’m a dreamer but that experience, that us approaching Christmas thing … that’s what Christmas joy is for me.

Merry Christmas to you and yours,

Let me share with you a few things you don’t need to achieve success in network marketing.

1. You Don’t Need A Degree Or Any Higher Form Of Learning

Thousands of people have been successful in networking without the benefit of college degrees. One of my most successful people on my team is a high school dropout. Since networking is so unlike other businesses, the rules are not the same here. Its possible, actually quite common, to build a large successful organization without having any credentials or degrees.

I am not saying that a degree is not a good thing. I believe in education however degrees are not duplicatable. If you or your sponsor has a degree, great. Its just not necessary for success in network marketing.

2. You Don’t need anyone else’s Approval

The only person who needs to approve of your network marketing career is you. Sometimes even your spouse may not approve. This is actually a frequent initial response, however thousands of people who have built huge businesses without the help of their spouse. Of course, after that, the spouse usually comes on board enthusiastically and things really take off.

One of the hardest facts of business to face is that not everybody is ready for success, or is as enlightened as you.

You may find that some of your closest friends and family members will ridicule you. Just give these well-meaning souls a wry smile, thank them for their input and get away from them as quickly as possible.

3. You Don’t Need Negative Uninformed Advice

Oftentimes a new distributor will get involved with network marketing and get all kinds of well-meaning advice from friends who have never built a networking business.

If you want to know how to fly airplanes, you must get advice from an expert pilot. If you want to build a network, look at your sponsorship line and find someone who has already built a large network. Those are the people to seek out for advice.

5. You Don’t Need Perfection

Guess what… The perfect company, product line, or compensation plan hasn’t been invented yet. Like every- thing in nature, it must evolve. Your job is to look at the whole picture .and decide if it is right for you. If you sit around waiting for perfection you will be waiting a very long time. Don’t make the mistake many many new distributors make to think that you can’t do anything until they you tried every single product, read every scrap of literature and completely understood every minute detail of the compensation plan.

The important thing is to get started and learn as you go.

All The Best To You,

Today’s blog is building great core relationships by Mark Victor Hansen. Mark Victor Hansen, co-author of the Chicken Soup for the Soul Series, has for more than 25 years, uniquely focused on the vital elements of human behavior that most affect our personal and professional lives and has influenced society’s top leaders and the general public on a global scale. Here is what he has to say..

Professional salespeople, like any serious professionals, have a goal of building excellent relationships with other people in both their personal and professional lives. Building excellent relationships is a habit, and it produces wonderful rewards.
But relationships can be very fragile. Many marriages don’t survive and many business relationships thrive for a while and then fall apart. We call this the Double Spiral in developing our book, The Power of Focus.

We are in the Upward Spiral when things are going well, when our confidence is high and our important relationships are healthy and flourishing. The opposite is the case if we slip into the Downward Spiral. Things start to unravel, a lack of communication occurs, stress increases and life becomes a constant struggle. Relationships are polarized during the Downward Spiral.

Let’s take a quick look at how the Downward Spiral shows up in real life. To more clearly understand how this can impact on your current and future client relationships, think of a personal or business relationship that didn’t work out. Create in your mind all the steps that caused this relationship to fall apart. Go back as far as you can and record what happened. When you carefully reflect on what causes relationships to fall apart, you can take steps to heal them and be better prepared for the next one.

The Upward Spiral certainly is more fun to analyze, but when you do, you stand to reap the rewards quicker in your future relationships. Repeat the process of recalling steps that caused this relationship to flourish. But this time, focus on a relationship that you gradually nourished, expanded and enriched until it blossomed into a wonderful, long-term friendship or business relationship. You will enjoy a tremendous advantage in the marketplace when you develop an accurate blueprint that you can duplicate many times in the future. Powerful relationships ensure powerful results.

Avoid toxic people

Before we move on, please heed this important advice: avoid toxic people! Unfortunately, there are a few people out there who see the world as one big problem, and in their eyes you’re part of it. No matter how well things are going, they focus on the nitpicking little negative details. And they do it constantly. It’s a habit that totally destroys relationships.

You may be thinking at this point, “Easier said than done. Do you mean if a friend I’ve known for years talks like this, should I just turn and walk away?” No, RUN! His constant negativity will drain the life out of you. Now please understand, we’re not talking about someone who has a genuine challenge and needs real help. We’re referring to those chronic whiners who take great pleasure in dumping all their negative garbage on your plate at every opportunity. It’s the highlight of their day. Don’t put up with it anymore.

Core clients and the double win

The important step in developing the habit of Excellent Relationships is learning to nourish your most valuable relationships in a win-win atmosphere. A lot has been written and spoken about the philosophy of win-win in selling and sales negotiation. But win-win is essentially a philosophy of how you live your life. In business, win-win means having a genuine concern for the other person; that they win as much as you do. Sadly, however, the attitude of many people in business has been to grind every last cent out of every situation. These so-called guerrilla tactics cause a lack of trust, cynicism, questionable ethics and a high level of anxiety in the marketplace. The result is win-lose. On the other hand, win-win doesn’t mean giving the farm away every time you make a deal. That’s lose-win, which would eventually put you out of business. There’s also another category called lose-lose. This happens when both parties are too stubborn or too egotistical to create a winning solution.

Building excellent core client relationships.

A crucial element in growing your business is building excellent core client relationships. Core clients are at the heart of your business. They buy from you consistently and are a main source of revenue. They are also happy to provide excellent referrals for new business because they genuinely love your products and service.

Amazingly, may salespeople today don’t even know who their core clients are. Core clients are your passport to future growth. Unfortunately, these important relationships are often taken for granted. The attitude is, “He always orders two thousand units a month. We need to focus on new business.”

Not every deal is worth saving

New business is important. Staying in touch with your best clients is more important. It’s a lot more difficult to find new customers than it is to keep and serve your old customers.

Be aware of the time you spend on people who are peripheral clients. The word peripheral is worth noting. It means at the outer edge, unimportant or not worth mentioning. Another term is dispensable. Do you have any peripheral clients in your business? If you’re not sure, here’s how you can spot them. They commonly take a lot of your time and energy and give you very little business in return. Sometimes they give you no business at all. But they will question you on every little detail, and they’ll place unreasonable demands on your time. Of course, you may not want to turn any business away from your door. But what is it costing you in time and energy to dabble in minor results? Some deals just aren’t worth the effort.

You don’t want to lose your core clients

There’s one critical element you need to understand about your core clients. You don’t ever want to lose them. Here’s the big question. How much real time do you spend with your more important core clients? Our research indicates that very little time is allocated to core clients. Consequently, these relationships never mature to their full potential. On the bottom line, that means a lot of money is squandered.

Now that you know who these important people are, pay more attention to them. The long-term rewards are well worth the effort. Your business will increase, and you’ll also minimize the likelihood of losing any of these top clients to your competitors.

You will probably offer your core clients special services and all those little extras that define you as unique. These may include golf outings, dinners or special trips. You could take time to share ideas of advising how to handle certain challenges. Maybe you consistently provide good referrals to expand their business. The more you know about the people on your core client list and core personal list, the more you can help them. And the true spirit of win-win means that you make these contributions unconditionally.

Successful salespeople create an information file for every one of their core clients and core personal relationships. They find out everything they can about these individuals including their likes and dislikes, favorite restaurants, birthdays, anniversaries, kids’ names, favorite hobbies, sports and pastimes.

Be willing to go the extra mile

It takes time and effort to cultivate highly successful relationships. It means that you will often be required to go the extra mile. This way of living gradually becomes your new normal behavior. You do it without thinking. When win-win behavior becomes truly embedded in your everyday life, the floodgates of opportunity will open up for you like never before. You will indeed be richer for it, and we don’t just mean financially.
Happy Holidays,
