Peter,

I agree. Americans waste gas on stop signs and electricity on traffic lights. Traffic circles would fix 80% of our intersections and make everyone happier.

Guys... To me as an European driving in the US having stop signs EVERYWHERE and actually HAVING TO STOP (and burn so much unnecessary gas) seems rather stupid. Abiding to this rule of right hand actually makes traffic more fluent... as long as you don't have somebody on the road who can't grasp this rule. Obviously, we are both biased but from my own experience, right hand rule makes traffic more fluent and more predictable. Oh, how many times have I stopped at a T or a 4 way intersection and had people not making a move, even though they got there earlier. Or how many times have I ran into (not literally, thank god) an asshole who did not wait for his turn and went earlier. Having a rule of right hand makes things simpler, even in a case of an accident. It's your responsibility to yield to a vehicle coming from the right side - and if you don't and get in a wreck it is your fault, period.
Cheers!

It is 6:30am on April 1st. The map shows you are still in bed! Get up!! :-)

I'm guessing you haven't turned on your phone yet, and you're getting ready to ride. Good luck and have fun.

You a funny man, Larry!

I am certain that at mile 120 I will wish I could remove the next 20 miles (hills) from the route!

Hey, I mapped the route on yahoo maps and it is less than 150 miles with 2.5 hours on the road. it should be a ride in the park. You will probably camp in the park over night then ride your bike back, right?
