Jerry, I'm sorry that I didn't think to tell you before that I use Donna's (a friend) laptop and email service while she's at her job which is a split-shift, so there could be many hours between morning and afternoon responses. I have used computers for years but times have changed so she showed me how to keep emails private and how to delete my history and sites I use. Thank the Lord for good friends as living on a fixed income I would have very limited contact with the outside world otherwise.

I just took a good look at the picture of you and your family. It's a lovely picture and I can see the affection each of you have for one another. Your son, though much younger, looks much like one of my grandsons but I must admit that your daughter is prettier than my granddaughter. : ) You and your wife make a lovely couple however your wife is thinner than my daughter-in-laws and you are younger than my baby who is now passed fifty. We too have been devoted to one another throughout their lives. I feel so blessed with children and grandchildren that always put God first in their life and now my great-grandson who is almost nineteen months old prefers Bible stories than above fiction ones, is learning to say prayers on his own and is God's ray of sunshine to all our lives. I am so very, very thankful for God's gifts of Christian children, Christian grandchildren and now seeing the beginning of a Christian great-grandson. But what makes me even happier and makes me feel even more blessed is that they all know that if they were to die at any moment they would go to be with the Lord. I know without doubt that they will never be deceived as they test the spirits and use the discernment that He gave each one. I pray that you and yours will always be equally blessed.

May the Lord bless you.

Thank you Jerry for you fast response. It really is most appreciated.

Sorry Jerry, my mistake if I said or made it sound like it was my opinion that she was trying to "unite" anyone. She has made the comment that she wanted to unite the peoples. You can double check that and learn more by reading what's on her website. She mentioned she is leaving Duke to venture...

All of us are well aware that our Lord told us to Love others many, many times. But we are also responsible to exercise spiritual understanding as to what He meant by every word that came out of His mouth and to acknowledge the difference between right and wrong and discern correctly.
1) As we are told in Proverbs 18:5 that, "It is not good to (even) show partiality to the wicked (sinners/wrongdoers)." 2) In Romans 1:18 it says, "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19) because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them." 3) Then in Proverbs 8:13 it says, "The fear of the Lord is to Hate Evil; Pride and Arrogance and the Evil Way and Perverse Mouth, I (meaning God) Hate." I will end these verses with one last verse that has also directed my path in life. It is 1 Corinthians 2:16 which tells us "For 'who has known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct Him?' But we Have the mind of Christ." To my understanding of that, we are
admonished that Christ put His Word within each Christian so we have no excuse if we fail to follower or fail to examine all.

I am just an old lady with sixty-four plus years of salvation, of being His obedient servant. The Holy Spirit which I was blessed with that same day, has dwelled within and led me. Although I was greatly blessed at the beginning of my 13th year by the Lord giving me the Holy Spirit to be my teacher, I do not consider it my right or place to question the Holy Spirit about why I am to do something He tells me, I simply obey Him and the rest is left in His hands. Equally, it is He that you should ask the question in your last line, not me. I mean, if none of the Bible verses meanings have been discerned by you, when all Scripture is given by inspiration of God, then there seems to be a real problem somewhere.

I have not meant you or CRU any disrespect. I have no argument with you. I consider myself no one to question what you or CRU do or the direction you go or are going. We each must only answer to the Lord for our own actions and words.

The Holy Spirit has become silent now so I have no more to say except I personally hope you and CRU will sincerely pray about this. I believe the Lord does nothing without reason but He leaves all choices up to the people.

May the Lord continue to bless you...

Dorothy,

I appreciate your commitment to God's word.

You quoted Christina Cleveland as saying, "Christians should be more loving and accepting of the LGBTQ community, Muslims and others who don't share their particular version OF BIBLICAL truth."

But then you said she was trying to "unite" those people. I don't think Cleveland is trying to unite people but rather trying to love people. Loving someone is quite different from uniting with them. Jesus loved us when we were dead in our own corruption, so I think she was simply encouraging others to love as Jesus loved - those with whom we disagree but recognize to be in the same need of God's grace as we are.

Which people are we told, by Jesus, not to love?

From what I have been hearing, I'm sad to say, is that the once Campus Crusade for Christ is starting to follow others and getting away from the true (full) word of God.
I found that very hard to believe but have seen the division in churches since the early 1970's and how much worse it has grown, so I now question CRU.
The division: The so-called Christian churches do not believe in the Deity of Jesus nor do they believe in the truth of Scripture. They agree to abortion, to homosexuality and same sex marriage. In other words, they have become/are followers of Satan. That is the direction a church ends up going when the start accepting "any part of ungodliness" for any reason! It's God first or else all will be lost!!!
If I hadn't been informed last night that CRU had Christena Cleveland as a speaker at last years (2015) conference, I would have been able to pass it off as nothing more than ignorant talk. However, four days ago I read the following on a respected and trusted website, which I will copy a couple of paragraphs from:
"A speaker at an evangelical Christian college urged students to accept the views of Black Lives Matter and consider themselves as having benefited from white privilege while looking the the PALESTINIANS for inspiration in how to get along with one's adversaries.
The Rev. Christena Cleveland, a social psychologist who teaches at Duke University School of Divinity and authored the book "Disunity in Christ," brought a message of reconciliation and "love WITHOUT exception" to Biola University in Los Angeles last week.
At a conference titled "Love No Matter What: Politics, Sex Race and the Way of the Cross," Cleveland touted the contributions of Black Lives Matter and said Christians should be more loving and accepting of the LGBTQ community, Muslims and others who don't share their particular version OF BIBLICAL truth."
If these were her words, then I am appalled to think that anyone would be ALLOWED to say such a thing in a TRUE Christian evangelical college or a TRUE Christian gathering of any kind!
The Bible is very clear about things as she is trying to UNITE and are not biblical.
Proverbs 18:5: "It is not good to show partiality to the wicked. Or to overthrow the righteous in judgment."
Romans 1:24: "Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lust of their hearts to dishonor their bodies among themselves, 25) who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather that the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. 26) For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the nature use for what is against nature. 27) Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due."
Romans makes it clear that God did not nor will not ever accept such an abomination. He will only accept them IF they repent. Which means to leave that sinful way of life.
Hebrews 13:8 "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever." He does not nor will He change His position about such matters.
As for the "Black Lives Matter". Did God not make all races? Did He ever say any one race mattered more than another? He is no respecters of persons. With one exception, the Jews, His chosen people.
And in the first paragraph Christena Cleveland chose to use the PALESTINIANS as her example for inspiration, not the Jews, yet anyone that's not spiritually blind knows that there are few Palestinians that would do or help a Jew and yet the Jews allow Palestinians to live and work peacefully in Israel.
I am very upset over this. Back in the mid-1970's I evangelized in part one and part two of the "I Found It" campaign. Part one was done by many in our church but when part two came up I was the only one that took part in it for about eighteen months, until I had to take care of my grandmother after she suffered a stroke. I didn't devote all that time because I had nothing more important to do like some others as I had two young children that had to have a babysitter. I did it because I loved the Lord and wanted to obey the great commission and because I was lead by the Holy Spirit to do so.
It is with a heavy heart that I write this but the closer to the Lords coming, the stronger the deception. I would hate to see another go the way of sin and deception. But one step off the straight and narrow road can lead many people to hell.
