It’s a little tricky positioning the Gorilla Mobile, since the mounting bracket is on the rear of the iPhone (the same side as the video camera). But, if you’ve got a little patience, I think it could make a great addition to your bag of tricks.

Marketplace is their new case with a built-in credit card reader. As you may remember, I recently covered a similar product from MacAlly called the QuikSwipe. Both the Marketplace and the Quikswipe seem like great tools for filmmakers to want to sell DVDs of their files on the go, but the Marketplace may have the edge in overall design. Simply put, it’s slick and simple.

Fortunately, Dots Gloves has found a way to keep your hands warm, while keeping your iPhone fully functional. The magic is in the material. I put ’em on, and was able to use my iPhone’s touchscreen without any issues whatsoever.

No, it doesn’t need batteries. No, it doesn’t require an instruction manual. But, YES, it can help you get some mighty cool shots from your iPhone 3GS. Trust me, this thing might be one of the coolest additions to your iPhone camera rig.

Amidst the bazillions of iPhone and iPod batteries peppering the CES floor, I stumbled across the HyperMac Nano. Its small and sexy design seemed like a natural companion for an iPhone.

Many people (including myself) use iPhone cases with built-in external batteries… but sometimes, those cases cause as many problems as they solve. So, it may be worth having something like the HyperMac Nano on hand.

I only had a moment to play with the Smoothee, but it was a good moment. The hardware felt VERY smooth. And from the looks of it, I’m guessing it’s aimed at higher-end customers. No price info yet. Stay tuned.

Well, Blue is back! And they brought a whole new Mikey with ’em. Here’s the short version: it looks goooood.

Honestly, I had NO idea that Quirky was going to be exhibiting at CES this year. So, it was quite a treat finding them in isle 10,400,185. They say the Beamer is about 3 weeks away from shipping. Hooray!

This year, the hottest item on the show floor was a toy. A kick ass, iPhone controlled, flying quadrocopter! This is the Parrot AR Drone, and it is awesome. But what does it offer the HHH filmmaker? How about two on-board cameras for starters. They haven’t released any availability or pricing info yet.

But fear not, that wiggly, warbly, wangly (sorry, just needed a third w) footage may soon be jello-free! The Foundry, a visual effects software company out of the U.K., has released the appropriately named Rolling Shutter. It’s a plug-in for Adobe After Effects, and the Foundry’s Nuke, designed to aid the visual effects process. However, with a few adjustments, Rolling Shutter may be able to reduce or remove your iPhone video’s wiggles.

Enter iKeysToGo: Final Cut Pro 7. It’s a searchable, well organized list of keyboard shortcuts. That might sound unimpressive for $2.99, but you’d be amazed how handy this app really is. There’s a lot of time to be saved with this puppy. I’ll let Diana Weynand tell you more about it.

While roaming the halls of the DV Expo, I was able to catch up with Hitchcock’s creator, Jonathan Houser. I asked him a few questions, and even got him to fess-up about some cool new features that are coming to future versions of Hitchcock.

Datavideo was demonstrating two solid-looking mobile teleprompters. The TP-200 for iPad seemed versatile, and had some nice features, but it was the TP-100 for iPhone that won me over. It’s the first professionally-made direct-to-lens teleprompter I’ve seen for smartphones.
