The bedroom is our sanctuary. It's where we unwind, relax and lay our heads down at the end of the day. Now, I'm sure that celebrities do the same stuff in their bedrooms as we all do in ours but my bedroom is not quite on the same level of fabulous as some of these so I use these for inspiration!!

White and Bright in Barcelona!!

I stumbled across this gorgeous Barcelona home on Houzz! The ground-level apartment is only 1,130 square feet but there is so much style and amazing in this place. Interior designer Mireia Pla created the warm interior of this space using white as the base with purple to add pops of color and lots of natural textures. Pla also made sure that this home had no shortage of sunlight by using floor to ceiling windows and skylights. Love, love this Barcelona beauty!

Spring is such a wonderful time of year here in Houston. We've got breeze, it's not too hot yet and the mosquitoes are NOT stalking your every move (thank goodness). It's during this time of year that I am so thankful to have such a great outdoor space. Reading, blogging, watching my little one play are all done from under my huge umbrella on the patio. If you don't have the outdoor setup of your dreams, check out some of these ideas and get it ready in time for this time, next year!

Ross Residence in Ross, California!

The Ross Residence, in Marin County, is one of those homes that is so beautiful all on it's own; with or without home furnishings. The space is so open and free flowing with large windows that offer spectacular views of the lush outdoors. I enjoy the folded roof which gives the home an interesting dimension inside and an eye appealing extra outside. The "personal" stream flowing below the decks is an added bonus! Well done, Griffin Enright Architects!

Mrs. Frank is currently the editor at large for Elle Decor and they recently featured Cynthia's gorgeous Southampton home. I love Texas. I mean, I do live here after all. We really do have some gorgeous country and this Austin, TX home is situated right in it! Designed by Jauregui Architects, the Country Hill residence is big and beautiful, Texas style. The interior is not fussy and very classic. I am not usually a fan of exposed brick on the inside of a home but even I could live with this.

Last Friday, we posted about the fabulous Athens, Georgia home of Susan Hable Smith. After reading about here, I took a walk through her website, Hable Construction, and fell so in love with so many of her designs!! Susan started Hable Construction with her sister, Katharine Hable. Both women (originally from here in Texas) have a love for design and creation which is obvious when you see what they produce. Love, love them!!

Prints, color and fabulous textiles abound in this beautiful Athens, Georgia home!! The house belongs to textile designer/artist, Susan Hable Smith, and her family. I have never seen SO many different prints and color and lines and designs work so well in one place!! I absolutely adore their home. Some rooms are pretty tame compared to others but I love the mix of bright and playful with calm and relaxing. Thank you, Elle Decor, for sharing!!

Stand Alone Tubs!

The bathtub. Sometimes the tub is just part of a shower/tub combo and other times the tub is the focal point of a bathroom. I recently stayed in a hotel with the most beautiful stand alone tub. That got me thinking of the fact that the stand alone tub is not a usual design choice for the bathroom so I wanted to find some inspiration. Why don't we all have tubs like these?

Happy Earth Day!

Approximately 4 million trees were lost in the destructive Texas wildfire in 2011. High Fashion Home and Arbor Day Foundation will plant 34,864 trees in 2013 towards the Lost Pines Forest Recovery Campaign. And we are hoping to plant considerably more. Thanks to all of our wonderful customers for contributing to a meaningful cause. High Fashion Home might be just one store. But when working together with caring people and incredible organizations, we can start making a difference.

As of March 31, 2013, High Fashion Home and the Arbor Day Foundation have committed to planting 50,604 trees around the world.

Ellen and Portia at Home!!

Who knew Ellen was so passionate about interior design! And she's so good at it. Ellen and wife, Portia de Rossi, bought their Santa Monica Ranch in 2009. TINY, I Mean TINY New York Apartment!!

We have all seen some small spaces but I think this New York apartment takes the cake!! With only 245 square feet of space to work with, you may think it would be impossible to make such a tiny space a home but you would be SO WRONG! Tim Seggerman took that 245 square feet and created the most fabulous living space! He even made room for a full size washing machine in there!

So, inspiration for this post came from the outfit I wore in Easter. A pink dress with a gray cardigan. So simple, so complimentary. Either color can be bold, soft or a mix of both. I know this combo isn't for everyone. Have you used the colors together in your home?? Here's some inspiration -

Wiesbadener Kurier - Alkoholisierter Fahrer kracht gegen Pfeiler und parkende Autos - 18.000 Euro Sachschaden
Ein alkoholisierter Wiesbadener hat am frühen Sonntagmorgen in Sonnenberg einen Unfall mit hohem Sachschaden verursacht. Es wurde niemand verletzt. Laut Polizeiangaben verlor der 27-jährige Fahrer auf einer abschüssigen Straße die Kontrolle über sein Fahrzeug und stieß gegen den Pfeiler einer Hofeinfahrt. Der Pfeiler und das daran befestigte Hoftor fielen auf ein geparktes Fahrzeug und beschädigten dies. Durch den Aufprall löste sich an dem Auto des Verursachers ein Vorderrad.
Wiesbadener Kurier - Alkoholisierter Lkw-Fahrer kracht auf der B455 in Pannen-Lastwagen - 300.000 Euro Sachschaden
Ein alkoholisierter Lkw-Fahrer hat am Montagmorgen einen Auffahrunfall auf der B455 verursacht, bei dem eine Person leicht verletzt worden und ein Sachschaden in Höhe von etwa 300.000 Euro entstanden ist. Nach den Ermittlungen der Polizei Mainz-Kastel hatte der 34-jährige Fahrer seine Sattelzugmaschine auf der B455 in Fahrtrichtung Mainz-Kastel, nach der Anschlussstelle der A66, wegen einer Panne auf den Seitenstreifen gelenkt. Nach den Angaben des 34-Jährigen war er bereits zum Stillstand gekommen und hatte das Warnblinklicht eingeschaltet. Nur wenig später fuhr ein 48-jähriger alkoholisierter Lkw-Fahrer, der mit seinem Sattelzug ebenfalls in derselben Fahrtrichtung unterwegs war, auf den stehenden Lkw auf.

Wiesbadener Kurier - Unfall bei Mainz-Kastel: Autofahrer übersieht Harley-Davidson auf B455 - Ein Schwerverletzter
Bei einem Verkehrsunfall auf der B455 ist ein 39-jähriger Motorradfahrer am Sonntagabend schwer verletzt worden. Ein 54-jähriger Autofahrer hatte ihn mit seinem Audi A8 beim Auffahren von der A671 auf die B455 in Fahrtrichtung Wiesbaden beim Spurwechsel wohl übersehen, teilt die Polizei mit. Es kam an der Anschlussstelle Mainz-Kastel zum Zusammenstoß. Der 39-Jährige verlor die Kontrolle über seine Harley Davidson und stürzte zu Boden. Mit schweren Verletzungen wurde der Motorradfahrer in ein Krankenhaus gebracht.

Wildschweine im Kurpark: Die Teilnehmer des aktuell laufenden 25-Stunden-Laufs staunten nicht schlecht, als am Samstagmorgen zahlreiche Feuerwehrleute und Polizisten im Kurpark auftauchten. Doch die Beamten waren nicht etwa wegen eines Feuers angerückt. Grund ihres Einsatzes ist vielmehr eine Rotte Wildschweine, darunter auch einige Frischlinge, die gegen 10.45 Uhr im hinteren Teil des Parks gesichtet worden war.
