Here at High-Gain.com we consider supporting the local rock scene a must-do, to keep music alive around us. Thus, we sometimes hand our own equipment to bands that we consider talented to gig with, or we have them used in festivals, so that musicians can come to know the quality of the equipment we sell.

Above you can find photos from High-Gain.com sponsored live shows. On the first photo you can see Wither-I playing live at the Kiato Rock Festival, using high-gain.com equipment. On the second photo you can see our equipment used at the Rejection / Intact / Wither-I gig at Paradise (Krines Korinthias). We are looking forward to have our equipment used in more festivals and let more musicians know what our amps can do for them in live situations!

Elmwood Stinger 30 watt cathode biased EL84 equipped combo amp.

The latest model from Swedish brand Elmwood, the Stinger, is a 30 watt cathode biased EL84 equipped amplifier with separate Gain and Volume for the 2 channels.

Among many smart features the power amp can be switched between Modern style and Vintage style and the FX loop can be altered as a solo booster. The traditional EQ puts you right in control. Equipped also with a three position bright switch and a Hi cut knob.

The Stinger is capable of producing everything from big warm clean sounds and funky clean rhythm to raw crunch and singing lead tones with its own touch, and is a really worthy member of the highly appreciated Elmwood amp family.

From The Valve website:
How did you come up with the 3/100 Head?
Whenever we set out to find a great tone, what we are trying to replicate is a sound we have heard on record or heard live. Whether the reference point is Steve Vai, Robben Ford, Toto or Linkin Park, we try first of all to reproduce the sound we have heard, and then personalize it to make it our own. This is essentially what the 3/100 Head does, providing guitarists with those sounds they have heard on record or live, then allowing them to customize tone using a wide range of tools.

How can I get the sound I`m after?
By listening to other guitarists and using equipment that has what it takes to replicate the sounds you hear. The 3/100 Head has been designed around the concept of tone customization - just plug in, listen to the different sounds of the three channels and you are sure to find the basic tone you want to then work with to create your own tone. In quality terms, the 3/100 Head compares favorably to the best US-made boutique amps, yet comes in at around half the price.

How do you manage to keep the price so low?
Because we build our amps in Italy through a joint venture with Bologna-based TBE Srl, the company the actually builds the amps. By leveraging TBE`s experience in the electronics industry, we have developed economies of scale that make our amps exceptionally competitive on a price/quality ratio.

What new, original features does the 3/100 Head offer?
he 3/100 Head offers an array of unique features, first among which is the boost control for solos. The amp features two master volume controls, one for rhythm and one for solo, so the guitarist is free to choose from a total of 3 channels and 6 volume settings. The real bonus here is that the solo function boosts the ouput level and the gain at the same time. This is important in that, when soloing, guitarists want to achieve a sound that has higher levels of gain and sustain than those used during rhythm parts.

Another brand-new feature of the 3/100 Head is the possibility to use effects, such as delays and reverbs from a digital signal processor and to then match them to each channel and to the `solo` function using the supplied foot-switch, without recourse to a separate MIDI pedal board.
In practice, it`s just like having a digital signal processor incorporated in a valve amp. Last but not least, for those who want to emulate the sounds of rock and metal, the lead channel includes a `shaping` function that can be pre-set, allowing you to switch instantly between a distorted rhythm part scooped on midrange tones, to a solo that is flat in the midrange, thus providing more notes definition. All of this has been designed in the name of maximum flexibility and ease of use.

What do you mean exactly by `flexibility and ease of use`?
For instance: the front panel - your starting point in the creation of your own tone - features bass, mid, treble and presence controls for each channel and just two switches. One switch provides the crunch channel with two different sounds, while other supplies two different sounds to the lead channel, meaning that the guitarist can precisely alter the sound in next-to-no-time.

How would you describe the sound of the 3/100 Head?
As I said before, most guitarists are basically looking for a choice of between 3 and 5 different sounds, including: a warm, dynamic, sparkling clear tone that stays clean even at high volumes settings; a crunch channel that can switch between a vintage tweed tone to a hard british overdrive and a powerful, creamy, rich lead channel, full of sustain for those times when you really want to rock out, since this channel is capable of producing a truly devastating metal roar. This is what the 3/100 Head is all about - switch it on and prepare to be blown away.

Who is this amp aimed at?
Cover bands and session players will certainly get a lot out of it, as will anyone who needs a truly ultra-versatile amp that`s simple and easy to use. Metalheads will have trouble resisting the pulverising tones of the lead channel.

What else can you tell us about this amp?
Well, it has two supports, making it easy to locate in a rack between the amp and the cabinet. It also sports a `Half Power` switch that allows you to reduce power levels by up to 50% for when you`re playing in small clubs or in studios but want the same dynamics you would get at 120W. Moreover, the cabinet has been specially designed for string players, and every amp comes complete with a DVD that gives you the lowdown on all the functions and has a load of fascinating tips on how to make the most of the special effects and how to shape your sound.

From The Valve website:
This is certainly a very different amp from the 3/100 Head.
Most definitely. Actually, the 2/50 Head is nothing but the 2/50-2 Combo in a head format. This, alongside the fact that it can be connected to any type of cabinet, makes the 2/50 Head an exceptionally useful tool for those who are always on the move and need to have instant access to a range of utterly convincing tones covering all music from jazz to blues and heavy rock.

Yet it also manages to be extremely portable.
The weight and footprint have been minimized to allow you to carry it like a suitcase, it offers you a practically infinite number of sounds and is so versatile that it can be connected to any type of cabinet.

How does the sound change from one cabinet to the other?
The basic tone is identical to that of the 2/50-2 Combo, and - depending on the type of cabinet you use - you can color your sound in different ways. For example, if you connect it to a 2x12 open-back cabinet, you\'ll achieve a vintage-style, open, three-dimensional sound that is similar to that made by a combo amp. Whereas, if you attach it to a 4x12, you can produce an immense wall of sound, rich and well defined at the low end, more suitable for rock. Connected to a 4x10, the 2/50 Head gives you greater definition in the midrange, creating a decidedly bluesy sound.

Are the auxiliary features on the rear panel the same, too?
Exactly the same - you can use the effect loop in series or in parallel and mix them using the Level knob to ensure total control. The Presence and Resonance controls can be used to set highs and lows to cater to the dimensions of the venue where you\'re playing. There is also the full Full Power/Half Power function that allows you to reduce your output down to around 25W, which is ideal for when you\'re playing in small clubs, where toning it down is sure to help you get booked again!

Who would you say this amp is suitable for?
Mainly for those who - for reasons of convenience - keep their set-up in a fixed location and play with a number of different bands. Guitarists in this situation need to be able to achieve a comprehensive tonal range and to play in all manner of different styles. As it was designed around Celestion Vintage 30\'s technology - the worldwide standard - it can be used practically everywhere.

Technical specifications:
- output impedance: 8/16 ohm
 - output: 45 watt
 - series/parallel effect loop
 - full power/half power (45 Watt to 25 Watt)
04/2007 Update: Words by a satisfied customer about the M60 Modena--> ...Wow Amazing cleans amazing gain such beautiful craftsmanship it doesnt get any better than this! ... Also how much the eq can change the voicing of the amp ... Very close to selling all my amps ... t drips with harmonics. such great feel ... most amps I\'ve played need channel volume to get the tone but this seems to get the tone anyway ... I\'ve never played the xtc or slo but based on clips I\'ve heard it reminds me in charachteristics of them both mixed together with some einsteina sprinkled on top ...

This is a Laboga Mr.Hector amp head, branded as Fame OverKill.

These amps were a special order from a store, under the Fame brand name. This is one of the last made under that brand name by Adam Laboga. This amp now sells only as Laboga Mr.Hector, for more than 1300 euros.

This amp is very similar to a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier. Two 5C3S rectifier tubes, four 12AX7 pre-amp tubes and four 6L6 power-amp tubes for that tight sound!
This amp is mean, and will beat anything standing next to it. Two channels (Clean, Distortion), with many voicing options, 50/100 Watt switch for when you need to get more sound by not going loud, high and low inputs, 5 speaker outputs for all possible speaker configuations, series effects loop, mid and bright switches, and even an XLR direct-out with speaker simulation!

Killer amp for little money! You can check http://www.labogaamps.com/ for more info, and see why bands like Annihilator, Behemoth, Paul Dianno, Illdisposed etc use this amp as their amp of choice!

The price is 1200 euros.

We have one of these killing machines on order, the first one in Greece!
This amp is a true monster: 100 tube produced Watts, 4 x Svetlana EL34 power amp & 7 x TungSol 12AX7 preamp tubes! Nothing like it on the market, plus killer sounds and versatility! [As it comes equiped with a 4 switch foot controller for direct access to all three volume/gain controls (Channel 1, Channel 2A, Channel 2B) connected with a 5-pin XLR cable].
As well as hundrends of other sound and switching options!

As www.diamondamplification.com reads:
The Spec Op is a 100 watt killing machine. It features a clean channel and two distinct high gain settings in Channel 2.The clean channel has the controls you want and need
Channel 2 gives you all the same controls with an added benefit - a second set of volume and gain controls! This feature gives the player the option of having two gain settings (say more gain for chunky heavy gain-style rhythms and less gain for more precision and clarity when playing more staccato style passages) that are accessible to him on the fly.

The corresponding volume controls for Gain A and Gain B allow the player to balance the volumes between the two gain controls so you can ensure that switching between Gain A and Gain B does not increase or decrease your overall volume. Conversely, you can adjust the volumes to do just that - increase or decrease overall volume when switching from Gain A to Gain B or vice versa. Both gain controls sweep the same gain stage so there`s none of this less and more gain stuff resulting in a channel you`ll never use. Simply, you get as much or as little gain as you want or need out of Gain A and Gain B.

To top it off, we don`t want you sacrificing one of the two gain controls to a dedicated lead sound. While you certainly can, we`ve added an adjustable, switchable boost that overrides Channel 1, Channel 2A and Channel 2B. When the boost is on, you can dial in a 0 to 20db boost over all three settings allowing you to choose any of your 3 settings and switch on the boost to give the player that extra volume he or she needs for leads or lead passages. The Spec Op also features a real, correctly-designed effects loop. You don`t need a foot switch; you don`t have to push a button. Just plug a cable into the effects send and the loop activates. The loop is tube buffered and will not affect your tone.

The front panel features a master volume, which reads E. Return (effects return). When the loop is on, the E. Return knob acts as the amp`s overall master - turn this knob up or down to increase or decrease the amps overall volume. When the loop is off, each channel`s volume control acts as that channel`s master volume! Like all current and future Diamond Amplification products, the Spec Op features the highest quality components and construction. Every component was selected and tested for this head. The Spec Op features 7 TungSol 12AX7 preamp tubes and 4 Svetlana EL34`s for its power stage. Each part was personally spec`d and tested by us to ensure maximum performance and reliability, from the transformers to the switches and knobs. The head features a perforated metal grille made in 16-guage stainless steel, and an accompanying black grille on the back of the exact shape and dimension, finished in black powder coating (the black grilles can be added to the front on order or later). Even the knobs are metal for look and feel. LED`s are mounted in the box to give this head its distinctive blue glow. Even the logo is stainless steel. Corner irons are included on every corner to add to the strength and stability of the box.

All its channels and the boost are foot-switchable from the Spec Op`s footswitch (connected with a multi-pin cable) and corresponding 1/4`` jacks to interface our head with any footswitch or other device that does standard latch switching. If you really want to open up your options, try a custom designed switching system from Custom Audio Electronic`s proprietor Bob Bradshaw.

SPEC OP Features:
100 watts (4 x Svetlana EL34 - 7 x TungSol 12AX7)
2 fully independent channels (Channel 1 - Clean/Channel 2 - Crunch) Both Channels feature Volume, Gain, Bass, Middle, Treble, Presence Dual Volume/Gain Channel 2 (switchable, allows for two gain settings with 2 volumes for level adjustment to match volumes)
Foot selectable boost switch with tube-driven boost (boosts clean channel and both volume/gain controls on crunch channel). Boost is adjustable from the front panel for approx. 0 - 20db boost.
Rear panel low frequency 3-position adjustment switch (allows for changing the amount and character of the bottom end - effects both channels)
4 switch foot controller for direct access to all three volume/gain controls (Channel 1, Channel 2A, Channel 2B) connected with a 5-pin XLR cable.
3 x 1/4`` jacks tied to the footswitch controller for controlling through tip to ground control mechanisms as an alternate to the footswitch controller.
115v, 120v, 230v and 240v output selection. Ohm selector switch for 4, 8 or 16ohm output.
Blue LED`s light the box for a distinctive look on stage, along with a stainless steel front grille and stainless steel logo.
All components specifically spec`d and tested by Diamond before inclusion in the product. Independent LED`s indicate which volume/gain is active and whether the boost is engaged.
Properly designed, tube-driven effects loop (shorting jack so the loop will automatically engage when cables are plugged in and disengage when cables are removed). Front panel Effects Return control that acts as an overall master when loop is engaged for quick overall volume adjustment.
The price is 2100 Euros

We have two brand new factory sealed Hughes & Kettner Warp Factor distortion stomp boxes on stock. (Including power supply)

The Warp Factor turns every amp into a ferocious monster with a savage bark and a vicious bite. Drop your axe’s tuning, insert Warp Factor between your guitar and the amp’s clean channel, and get blown away by the dark, heavy chunk that powers modern metal styles.
Don’t let its streamlined looks mislead you – Warp Factor goes way beyond conventional distortion stomp boxes – it’s a real preamp with a pedalsized footprint. No battery-powered circuit can deliver the highly charged, low-frequency energy you need for that beastly drop-D sound – hence the included 12 V PSU wall wart.

Plug-in and get warped – you’ll never look back!
This amp is made in Germany, and is equiped with Ruby Tubes!

21st century metal is all about detuned guitars, ponderous & ominous riffs, and big & bold effected clean sounds. No wonder that yesteryear’s amplification can’t cut it in this brave new world of sound. While the postfix “7” in the WARP 7™ model name pointed to the amp’s penchant for our beloved electric guitar’s seventh bottom string, the “T” in WARP T™ stands for the awesome power of the tubes lurking within the head. Make no mistake; the WARP T™ is the ultimate tube-driven weapon in your Nu Metal arsenal. With the WARP T™ half-stack, you have satisfied your wish for more bottom end beef and all but inexhaustible high-gain reserves. Hearing is believing: Simply plug that tube head into the 4 x 12” cabinet and stand back.

The infernal glow of its eight red-hot tubes says it all: Warp T is the undisputed heavyweight champion in the Nu Metal arena. Look no further than this for rude riffing power. The amp boasts a Clean channel with big, bold and crisp tones and a Warp channel to put a grin on the face of any metal riff-meister.
Warp T is shorthand for the staggering sound pressure of a 120-watt, 6L6 tube-driven power amp prepped to pump out pure dark energy. Featuring a top-notch Clean channel tweaked specifically for heavily effected sounds and a Warp channel that brings new meaning to the term “warped,” Warp T offers a ferocious feature set you won’t find on any other amp. Check out the Lube button, a sonic lubricant for fluid riffs and leads. Press it to alter the amp’s distortion dynamics and smooth out the sound for ultimate response to your touch.
With the optional MSM-1 MIDI Module, you can sync up your amp and external effect devices and switch them simultaneously via a separate MIDI pedal. Gear up for the 21st Century – Get Warped!

New generic HB 7-string, floyd-rose equiped guitar for sale

As you can see on the pictures, this is a new 7-string guitar for sale, stickers still on. I already sold one to a friend the day it arrived, he saw it and he wanted it, the price is really low, so he got one right away! This is the second of this type, but i think i`ll be ordering some more soon, since there are some friends after this one, plus I think I`ll keep one for myself :-)

Floyd-rose tremolo, two special-design 7-string humbuckers, single volume and tone controls, two-piece maple neck with rosewood fingerboard and Erle body (Alnus glutinosa - European Alder wood variety). What more can you want?
The guitar plays really nice and the pu`s will cope for rock and metal sounds. Still, if you are not happy, you can install a DiMarzio, EMG or Seymour Duncan pick-up, and rip 7-string guitars of three times the price! But you can get heavier sounds just by installing thicker strings.
The guitar comes with a gig-bag, and the price asked is 300 euros.

For any further info or for shipping costs please contact me by e-mail.

Update: The second 7-string was sold to my friend Mr.VZ, but theres one more on order, should be with me in short notice.

03/2007 Update: All sold, one equiped with EMG707 pu\'s, killer! Please contact us if you would like to order another.

Used Aria Excel Series guitar for sale.

This guitar was bought during mid- or late-`90s (can`t quite recall...) by my sister, and like good ol` whiskey, its woods were left to age slowly inside my sisters closet. This guitar was rarely ever used.
The guitar is stung with a new set of strings and set-up professionally by my friend mr. V.Z., thus plays very nicely. The sound of this guitar is best suited for Hard-Rock, Rock and Metal music.
The guitar is equiped with a Floyd-Rose licensed locking tremolo system, has two humbucker pu`s, three way selector switch and single volume and tone controls.
The guitar was gigged once by a friend, and while trying to change strings he lost one string retainer from the tremolo system, thus the low price of the guitar. Nevertheless, the guitar tunes and plays good even without it, and I`m sure it will be easy to find a new one in case you want to replace it.
The guitar comes complete in a gig-bag, with free strap, Korg GA-10 Guitar tuner, cables and picks, thus making it an ideal started for a beginner guitarist that wants to dig into Rock and Metal music genres.

The price is 250 euros.

Here you can see some of my equipment, the parts that I am proud of :-D

First off my Bogner Uberschall amp head. I love this baby! The holy-grail of my sound in a single amp head! This amp is the latest revison blue, and a few of the preamp tubes has been changed with chinese valves for more grainy sound! Armageddon in a box, as http://www.bogneramplification.com/ reads.

In this photo the amp sits on a friends Randall 4x12 cab, loaded with Celestion Custom80 speakers (I think...). Sounds raw!

Second, theres one of my guitars, a cheap Les Paul copy by Hohner, that plays like a dream and sounds really good too. I have installed the EMG Zakk Wylde system on this guitar myself
(EMG 81 & 85 active pu`s plus pots etc).

On the third photo you can see me, @ band practice place, holding my Yamaha BBG5S bass guitar. Then, theres a couple more photos of my bass guitar...
A couple more photos of my Bogner, one on top of a friends Randall cab, and one on top of my newly arrived HB 4x12 cab, loaded with Celestion V30 speakers. I think the randall sounds a tad bit more raw, thus making it a more appropriate cab for the Bogner.

Then theres my Trace Elliot 715SMC bass amplifier, a really nice peace of equipment. Really nice sound just out-of-the-box, with just the appropriate controls and no cheap ultra-thunderous-harmonic-sub-bass gimmick buttons. Just plain nice sound.
The amp has got a 150Watt power amp section, a 15inch speaker in a tuned cab, 7-band graphic eq, pre-shape eq, and dual band compresor.
Last for now, but not least, my newly arrived Epiphone LesPaul Boneyard, Joe Perry signature model. The body and set neck are made of mahogany, the top is made of Indian (I think) tiger flamed maple, and the guitar is loaded with Gibson USA burstbucker pu`s. Top guitar!

01/2007 Update: The HB 4x12 cabs gone, I`m currently using only my own Eminence loaded custom made cabs, and Randall 4x12XLT cabs for demonstation purposes.

06/2007 Update: I now use a custom AV bass guitar, 6-string nech through, that can be seen on the later photos
More stuff to be added soon!

2nd hand Peavey Rage 108 practice combo amp.
This is a 15-watt two channel practice amp with a really nice clean channel. The amp is in fair condition and in perfect working order. Ideal for home practice at low volume levels.
This amp has been used by me for bedroom practice or for vocal amplification, and was never gigged.
The price is 60 euros.
