Located just 13 miles from the Dome, residents of our community that cheer for the Falcons enjoy being so close on game day. But sometimes watching from the comfort of a booth at the local sports bar can be fun as well. The Village offers a couple great places to catch games, like McCray’s Irish Pub and Blue Moon Pizza.

After their bye week, Atlanta will take on some tough opponents both at home and on the road. They will kick off their late-season action against two NFC South Division opponents, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Tampa on Sunday, November 9, and the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, November 16. They will be at home against the Cleveland Browns and Arizona Cardinals the next two weeks before traveling to Green Bay in early December as the season winds down.

As a resident at our apartments in Smyrna, you may want to take a look around Village Green this fall. Because coming soon is the Fall Jonquil Festival, and this annual shindig is returning bigger and better than ever!

The free festival will entice locals and tourists the Smyrna area, from October 25 to October 26. Local non-profit booths will be set up for you to explore. Examples of merchandise you can buy include paintings, furniture, jewelry, clothing, and handmade arts and crafts.

Feel free to peruse unique gifts and sample festival foods, like hand-dipped ice cream, candy apples and cotton candy. When you’re all shopped out, kick back on the lawn and listen to the acoustic sounds of Scott Thompson. Kids will love watching Peter Hart perform his famous Atlanta Puppet Show.

The Highlands of West Village Offer 3 Bedroom Floor Plans That Are Perfect for Sharing

At our Highlands of West Village apartments in Smyrna, GA, we understand that people enjoy all different types of living arrangements. Our first three-bedroom layout puts everything on one level, with two bathrooms. You get 1,530 square feet of total living space. The two smaller bedrooms are on one side of the apartment, and share a bathroom, while the master bedroom has its own master bath. It is a great layout for families.

The other three-bedroom residence checks in at 2,446 square feet over three floors. This layout is great for roommates. The bottom floor features one bedroom with an attached bathroom. The other two bedrooms are on the third floor, each with their own connected bathroom.

Experience the at Home Feel at Bulloch Hall’s Sip of the South

Dust off your cowboy boots this fall for Sip of the South’s Boots n’ Barbecue celebration. It all happens on the grounds of Bulloch Hall in Roswell, GA, not far from our Highlands of West Village apartments in Smyrna, GA.

The party will kickoff on Saturday, October 4 at 6:30 pm. There will be live music, dancing, great barbecue and an open bar featuring Boots n’ Barbecue’s signature drink, the Buggy Whip. Tickets are on sale for the event now, and are $50 per person. In addition to all the great food and drink, there will also be a cobbler cook-off.

Like so much of the area around our Highlands of West Village apartments, Bulloch Hall has its own spot in the area’s history. It was built in 1839, and was the childhood home of Mittie Bulloch, mother of Theodore Roosevelt, our country’s 26th president.

Get Out and Explore the Trails of Kennesaw Mountain

The weather may be cooling down, but the scenery has never been more alive. It’s the perfect time of year to get outside and stay active. Kennesaw Mountain, located just a short drive from our apartments in Smyrna, GA, is a great place to go hiking or jogging in beautiful nature trails.

An easy way to get started is to park at the Visitor’s Center. From there, you have your choice for several loop trails:

From the Visitor’s Center to the mountain top is about a 2.0 mile loop, to Pigeon Hill the distance is 5.4 miles. If you’re in for a really vigorous day of exploring, you could take the trail from the Visitor’s Center all of the way to Kolb Farms. It creates a loop that is 16.2 miles in total.

Kennesaw Mountain is home to many monuments and memorials, where you can learn more about the park’s history and the Civil War battle that took place here. The Visitor’s Center is open from 9 – 5 daily, and is a good place to learn more.
