Why on Earth would you do this?! It is ridiculous to take money away from schools when already students are forced to work with crappy supplies and learn from crappy teachers who have no motivation because they have a tiny paycheck. Right now America is spending around 50% of it's expenses on defense. Because of this important things like school are forced to do without money. It is pathetic that our leaders do not realize that by cutting out of our education we are cutting out of our future, because America's future lies with today's students. I understand that you are worried about protecting yourself now, but down the road America is going to be screwed over because you refuse to fund it's future workers, leaders, thinkers, innovaters, etc. I can't believe how stupid our government has become, we trust them with power to make good decisions yet here they are screwing us over.

More Comfortable Classes

I dont know about you but I feel that our classrooms should be made more comfortable so that we have a better learning experience. It is hard to learn when we sit there in these uncomfortable and undersized chair-desk combo things. My civics teacher had the idea to give every student a nice leather chair. He also had the idea of giving students the ability to order food that would be delivered to them in their classroom. Genius! Things would be so much nicer this way. I would maybe actually enjoy sitting there. If we are supposed to learn then why is it that we have to do it uncomfortably. I think that we should be given a more comfortable environment because it would help us learn and would make class much more enjoyable.

Detention

How is detention supposed to deter students from misbehaving. All detention is is simply forcing students to sit in a classroom silently for like half an hour. O wow what a horrible punishment. Please don't make me sit quietly! Please! I am pretty sure anyone badass enough to get into detention is not going to be scared by it. In fact I'm pretty sure that most students that get it end up there again at some point because it doesn't intimidate them at all and in no way scares them from doing something again. I'm not saying that we resort to the old school forms of punishment where students get whacked with a paddle, but the administration might as well just give up with detention and just let minor things go.

Powerpoint

Teachers are ridiculous when grading a Powerpoint presentation. Instead of understanding that we can put text on these slides so that we can read off them and that those watching can actually pick up on the important information, they treat these presentations as if they are memorization speeches. It's almost as if they do not understand the whole point of these presentations. Also they do not want us putting sounds or actions in our slide shows, which makes for boring presentations. I am pretty sure that if every slide was full of actions and sounds that everyone would find the show much more fun, regardless of how obnoxious it can get to have a laser beam fire for every letter on the slide. Powerpoints could actually be fun if teachers did not create such ludicrous and gratuitous rules that limit the creativity that Powerpoint allows students to use.

Free Online Games

Everyone knows the best thing to do on a computer in school is to play the free online games you can find that aren't blocked. There are so many stretches in class where students are required to work on their own and the teacher just sits back and does whatever. How much work actually gets done during these periods? Practically none. The school should allow electronic devices during these circumstances because if anything it will keep students quieter since they will be occupied with their own things instead of yelling across the classroom at their friends. And as for those students who actually want to get work done during these periods, you are all idiots. Have you ever considered having fun in high school? Save the work for home that is where you will be most productive anyway. We need to allow students to have these electronic devices because they sneak them anyway you might as well give up on trying to stop them.

Texting in Class

I love how sneaky students try to be when they are texting in class. Kids will put their phones under their desks, under their legs, just about anywhere. Kids set up their phones behind an open book and try and act like they are reading when they are obviously on their phone. These people think they are so sneaky and they don't get how the teacher can see them. Stupid! Instead of constantly looking down at your phone try looking up every once in a while. It is way obvious when you are staring at your crotch and doing something with your hands that you are texting. I know that teachers shouldn't care about texting, but they do. So don't be stupid and learn how to actually be sneaky in class instead of being so in to yourself for texting during class that you become oblivious to what is going on around you.

Chat Room Classes?

How sick would it be if every class was a chat room. Instead of going to school we could just log in to the chat room from our computer at home. Each class would have a designated time in which students would need to log in and the chats would last for the same amount of time as classes do now at school. Instead of passing periods we would just have 5 minute breaks where we could go to the bathroom or privately chat with our friends. Also students could all just bring their laptops and meet somewhere and have class there. Teachers could just use file uploads to give the students access to the worksheets, notes, documents, etc. that we usually waste paper with by printing out. These chat room classes would be so good because that way we could have class anywhere we wanted to as opposed to the stupid classrooms we are forced to be in now. And if people are going to argue that students could log in and then just go do something else, teachers could easily test their attendance by asking individuals a question and requiring some kind of answer within a short alotted time. Teachers would also like this because it is so much easier to sort students work when it is all electronic. These class chat rooms are definitely better than what we have now.

Free Periods/Computers for Everyone

One of the rarest treats in school is the free period. By that I mean a class where the teacher has nothing scheduled for the day and the entire class period is devoted to "working." As if anyone actually does any work. Pretty much all people do is talk with their friends about whatever it is they find interesting. The teacher insists on everyone keeping it down so they can get stuff done, but really the class doesn't give a rat's ass and instead talk as loud as they want. It can be unfortunate however, when you are surrounded by people who you don't know or are really boring, so you have nothing to talk about and instead have to entertain yourself with whatever you can come up with. This is why I think every student should have a computer in all of their classes. Not only would this provide a good way for students to entertain themselves on these days, it would actually make regular days better too. Students would be much more efficient in their work, since they can type faster than they could write, and it would also save A LOT of paper. My binder must have 2,000 pieces of paper in it, and if we all had our own laptops that huge clutter would be gone and I would be much more organized. We need computers for every student for sure.

Ceramics

As part of our high school graduation requirement, we students are required to take one year of a "Fine Art." Well, I chose ceramics, and I don't see how it qualifies under "Fine Art." All we do in ceramics is screw around with clay and make things the teacher tells us to. There is absolutely nothing "fine" about half of the projects that receive A's. They are stupid misshapen heaps of clay that someone claims looks like a pot because it has a dip in the middle. Our teacher is absolutely insane and cannot remember half of what she has said the day before. She insists that we learn these elements of design so that our art will be better. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME!! There is no way that ceramics is a fine art because there is no skill involved with shaping clay. I also don't understand how photography is a fine art. Pressing a button on a camera is not a fine art it is a basic motor function. If schools want us to take a fine art they shouldn't make us waste a period doing stuff that teaches us nothing other than what clay feels like.

High School Musical

High School Musical is really stupid

Senior Year

I am sooo glad that I am finally a senior. After 3 years of being someone else's bitch I am finally on top of the school. It's also about time that teachers start recognizing that we want to have fun. I have 3 teachers who actually understand the importance of senior year, and that means they assign hardly any homework and make their class very easy. It is so refreshing to see this as opposed to all the retards who teach other grades and insist on challenging their students. I can't remember there ever being a time a kid went to school wanting to be challenged by their teacher. I'm pretty sure everyone just wants an easy A so that they can just move on and not worry about the lame-ass class. I feel that there should be no homework or major projects for seniors, as we have earned the right to have it easy and we should be allowed to enjoy our last year with many of our childhood friends.

College Applications

Arguably the most annoying thing about senior year is college applications. Just about every college seems to have its own set of questions that they believe will tell them what they need to know about a student. They make us write stupid essays about things that influence us and life's journey to find oneself. How the hell are we supposed to write a good essay about a random-ass topic like that. If you want us to write a good essay the topic should be something we actually understand. Asking us to talk about why we want to go to your college or what you want to do in college is pointless, because the answer is obviously I think I can get in and I want to go to a college that looks good for when I need to get a job. Thank God for this Common App thing that colleges are starting to use. It should be a law that all colleges use this so that we don't have to keep wasting our time with these stupid applications. I mean come on it's senior year I want to have fun.

The Internet

One of the biggest fakeouts in school is using a computer. Specifically the internet. When you get on a computer you are usually excited because there are so many fun things to do. However, after about 12 seconds you realize that this is not going to be a fun experience. First off, the internet is sooooo slow. It takes about 1 minute to load google. Wow. talk about blistering broadband speeds. Then things get really bad when every site you try to go to is blocked. I understand blocking porn sites, but schools take blocking sites waaay too far. I mean, come on!!!! We are in the library to do research and half the sites we get from google don't work. How are we supposed to research!!! The search engines that the school forces on us suck. I love the computer at home, but it sucks at school.

Hand Raising

Ever since we were little, we have been told to raise our hand when we had something to say. I think this is stupid. I understand that teachers want to keep things in order, but to really keep things running smoothly students should be able to speak out loud when they please. The only time any sort of hand raising is acceptable is when everyone is speaking at once. I think there is a better solution than hand raising. Try Jeopardy style buzzers. Students could buzz in when they had an answer, and that way the teacher would always get the first person instead of calling on some random person that has nothing to say but the teacher calls on them anyway to get that kid involved in the conversation. The only people who would be speaking would be those who actually had something worth hearing. And don't worry about that buzzer sound getting annoying. There could be silent buzzers, or even better, customizable buzztones. Every time I buzzed in it would go BALLIN!

Wikipedia

Wikipedia is easily the best source for any project or research that there is on the internet. Half of you people have no chance of goin to half of the colleges you list. You also have no idea what's goin on and recite random facts that someone at a college seminar mentioned. It seems like there is never a time when everyone can get together. Everyone always has something to do. Also, there is always that one person in the group that you expect will do a lot, but it turns out that you have to pick up the slack for them. That is so annoying because you have to do more than anticipated. Although group projects can be fun when you are with friends, teachers always make a point of not letting friends work together. The anticipation builds up during the weeks before, and pretty soon one is so amped up that the break almost becomes disappointing. It is so hard not to be excited about getting out of school, but this excitement is so tortuting because it makes the need for a break only worse. And what makes things really bad is almost every teacher assigns a big test or project that is due right before break. This is ridiculous. There needs to be some kind of test one needs to pass in order to drive to school, because right now it is just too dangerous.

Homework on Breaks

It doesn't make any sense at all to have homework over breaks. I don't see what teachers don't understand about BREAK. It's a break damnit! Why can't they honor that and leave us alone? They think that we do absolutely nothing, as opposed to doing something fun over break. How stupid can teachers be. It should be illegal to assign homework over break and any teacher who breaks that rule should be flogged.

Tardies

Why do teachers keep track of tardies? It is not that big of a deal if someone is 15 seconds late to class. Nothing ever happens in class anyway, so it is not like they are missing anything. Teachers say that students are interrupting class, but all they are doing is walking in while the teacher is taking role. It is not that big of a deal if someone walks in the room while the teacher is clicking a box next to people's names. Plus, at my school, the clocks are off and there are no bells at the beginning of class, so there is no way for students to have a sense of time. Tardies are such a stupid policy and I think that schools should get rid of them.

Flash Cards

Flash cards are ridiculous and unnecessary. Not only do they not help, but they are tedious to make and keep. They don't help at all, but teachers still require us to make them. Putting something on one side then the answer doesn't help at all. All it does is waste time and paper. Then when I put them in my backpack, they somehow find a way to get everywhere, or they fall out of my binder all over the place. There is no need for us to tell a teacher where we got information for a project. They say it is so that they can "check the validity of the resources." When was the last time a teacher actually took the time to check the websites and books a kid used to do a report? It has never happened and it never will. And then there is that specific format we have to use for different types of sources. What difference does it make? It is not as if this format we must follow changes anything. It just confuses everyone and wastes time. Bibliographies are so stupid.

I Don't Know What to Call This

Why does every teacher think that their class is the most important class on Earth? Almost all of my teachers insist on having us focus solely on their class. They fail to realize that we have six classes a day, not just one. I've had teachers refuse to sign field trip forms, pull me out of other classes to see lectures, just about everything. They think their class is so important that we should miss other classes or not worry about them in order to succeed in theirs. This is just ridiculous.
