I decided to do the test went we are driving back to Manila from Los Banos, Laguna.<br /> <h4> Route</h4> The bulk of this leg of the trip is mostly highway. It is only when I turned right to Magallanes (EDSA) when I started to drive a bit slower. I started the test from Shell Turbina Highway (just near Calamba exit of South Luzon Expressway) filling up my tank with Shell Vpower and resetting all trip meter and fuel consumption meters on the dashboard. It even went up on an average of <b style="background-color: #f1c232;">19.7km/L (!!!)</b> when I'm still at SLEX. The reading only went down when I get to EDSA which is we know, is definitely slower than on SLEX.<br /> <br /> OK, so I'vé driven <b>45.2km</b> and used up only <b><span style="font-size: large;">1.947L</span></b> of fuel! That's just about P91.00 worth of gasoline when I topped up.<br /> <br /> so the actual measurement using full tank methos is 45.2km / 1.974L = <b><span style="background-color: #fff2cc; color: #38761d; font-size: large;">22.88km/L</span></b>. HOLY MACKEREL!!!!!<br /> <br /> that is equivalent to<br /> <br /> <b>53.62 in US&nbsp;MPG</b><br /> <b>64.40 in MPG</b><br /> <b>4.38 in L/100km</b><br /> <br /> <h4> What sorcery is this?!&nbsp;</h4> Pardon my reaction, it's just that coming from one hell of thirsty car (Ford Escape 2.0 AT) &nbsp;- it surprises me that we can achieve this kind of efficiency on a similarly large displacement engine SUV (and I believe 3rd generation tucson is also heavier than 1st gen escape).<br /> <br /> Just want to reiterate, the best I got from my escape is around 9.something km/L .&nbsp;22.88 is more than double of that!<br /> <br /> I can't wait to bring this nice piece of technology up in La Union soon. I'm excited.<br /> <br /> <h4> How did I do it?</h4> I just maintained the speed between <b>80-90 km/h</b>. I noticed on the live FC meter that this range is the best speed for maximum efficiency.<br /> <br /> You have to take note though that this scenario&nbsp;won't happen most of our drive time. This is like the best driving condition we can drive the car so watch out for another test that I will do. Break in as in driving highway speeds with varying RPMs between 800rpm to 3000rpm. That was the plan, which didn't really went so well. You see, the funny thing that I forgot to consider is that its a Saturday afternoon here in the Philippines. Saturday afternoon is synonymous to hellish traffic. To think that I'm also using a manual transmission so just imagine how tired my feet were after the trip.<br /> <h4> The fuel consumption</h4> The dashboard says I have a rating of <b>10.8 km/</b><b>L </b>.&nbsp;That's great in my standard considering that the best mileage I have achieved from my 2004 Ford Escape 2.0 AT is 9.8km/L pure highway driving.<br /> <br /> The actual consumption using full tank method &nbsp;is .....<br /> <br /> <div style="text-align: center;"> <span style="background-color: yellow; color: blue; font-size: large;">7.98km/L</span></div> <div style="text-align: center;"> <br /></div> which is really not bad consider how traffic it was. It's just that Technical Details offers the perfect balance of work quality and cost as per my needs. I may not went home as the happiest customer, but atleast I can say I'm one satisfied customer. Bilib ako!<br /> <br /> <h4> My Observations</h4> <br /> <ol> <li>Dust will only roll off together with water if you regularly clean your car.&nbsp;</li> <li>If you let the car baked on the sun with dust after it rained rain followed by sunlight again plus a little bit of road or asphalt film (during everyday drive) on your car will lessen the capability of the hydrophobic coating. You still need to wash your car using mittens to completely remove the dust that sticks to the paint.</li> <li>Detailing is important as it is a requirement to have a clean paint before applying the ceramic coating</li> <li>It is true that there is somehow a harder coating on top of the paint when you have your car coated with ceramic. I have a recent incident where in pigeons climb on my car and slide on the window and panels. I was expecting deep scratches already knowing these birds has claws. A variance of about <span style="background-color: yellow;">0.5km/L.</span><br /> <br /> <h3> Conclusion?</h3> I am not very sure if this mileage is already acceptable, but coming from a thirsty <a href="http://hihey.gjamoroso.com/2013/07/patotoy-my-2004-ford-escape-20-xls.html">Ford Escape</a>, my Hyundai Tucson is definitely better. To think that the engine is not yet fully broken in with only 500km on odometer, I expect this to improve after the 1k PMS and 5k PMS.<br /> <br /> The data is not yet enough to conclude that the gauge always yield higher result and it can't be said yet also that the gauge is not reliable. I will be collecting data for as long as I could and see if we can see a pattern by showing a graph in the future. My plastic bumpers were not polished, they told me it was done but when i pointed out the plastic parts with white streaks thats the time they applied something. They didn't even apply it consistently. There are darker areas, while some parts has still the white marks (probably because of the shampoo used). The mags has still some dirts.<br /> <br /> <b>Interior</b> Vaccuuming of the interior is good. Pet hair were removed and I believe I didn't lose any item inside the car as I left it while eating lunch. They also applied a chemical to my interior. The car smells bad when I got it (like a shirt that Worn multiple times by a sweaty guy without having a laundry, not even once). The same material that other seat cover companies offer like MG Square and Seatmate.<br /> <div> <br /></div> <div> I got mine in black (perforated) and beige design with embroidered Ford branding on the driver and passenger seats.</div> <div> <br /></div> <div> I spent P6,500 for it including the P500 embroidery fee. It was originally priced at 6,500 negotiated a discount of 500 and use that again for embroidered logo.</div> <div> <br /></div> <div> <span style="font-size: large;">The very bad experience</span></div> <div> <br /> Ordered the leather seat cover Thursday, Lederland said it should be available by Monday but may spill till Tue because of the embroidery. Came Tue, then Wed then Thurs when the seat cover is finally ready for installation but I dont have time during weekends so I have it done on Sat.<br /> <br /> Came at the lederland at 10:30am &nbsp;, was able to leave that place at 3:30pm. WTF right?! Why ?<br /> <br /> <ul> <li>They said they're expert in automotive seats but <u>the installers there didn't even know how to properly install seat covers on my car</u></li> <li>T<u>hey are using Philips screwdrivers to remove pins, push through the fabric etc , kept telling them not to use but they didn't listen. They damage scratch the screw covers all around my interior</u>. Deteriorated couple of fabric from my original interior. <span style="color: #990000;"><b>And scratch a deep and long one on my front &nbsp;seat fold-able panels</b></span></li> <li><u>They manage to cover it up by using vinyl paint but it took me couple of waiting hours</u>. Bwiset!</li> <li><u>My car has fold-able panels at the back of the front seats, and guess what they installed the covers with garters over the panels, claiming it was the design</u>. I said how will I'll be able to use the panels if garters are blocking it?! All they say was it was the design.&nbsp;</li> <li><u>Told them to remove the panels first before installing the covers but they're&nbsp;stubborn</u>. I yell telling them what to do and they listen. atlast.&nbsp;</li> <li>They bring back the panels but not totally fit on the back seat holes, and the covers and properly inserted in between the panel and old upholstery. Again they insist that it will be impossible as the pattern is design that way.<u> I made passenger side, the way I'm telling them to do it and it was done, perfectly. I ask them what were you saying again earlier? That's when they listen again</u>.</li> <li>Some of the stitches on the head rest and back seats are not aligned with the original design. It looks awful if you look at it carefully.</li> <li><u>I don't even understand why the installer removed the arm rest on my back seat</u> when the design of the seat cover would not require to. <u>They end up damaging the fabric of my arm rest and messing up with the plastic bushing</u>.</li> <li>And what's more classic, <u>during the time I was about to give the deposit, an angry man came with his wooden steering wheel with a large, deep and long scratch or dent</u>. I think its for a lexus car. And they just requested for a leather wrap.&nbsp;</li> <li>Silly me, i took the risk and i lost. If I only know this is going to happen, might as well went to seatmate or MG Square.</li> </ul> <br /> <br /> So yes, even if I payed the whole amount, I was never relaxed the whole time. To summarize :<br /> - I'm dripping wet with sweat because i have to stay where they are installing the covers to monitor<br /> - I have to do some of the installation because they're doing the wrong thing<br /> - They wasted 5 hours of my time for a simple installation<br /> - I went home hungry and feeling weak. I wasnt able to eat. They didn't even offer me some food nor just plain water? So much for customer service. Mukha silang pera. Tsk tsk.
