Introducing Adalynn

Little Miss Adalynn definitely has her own idea of how she wants do things. At just 2 weeks old for this session, Lil Miss was mostly wide-awake and working the camera with sweet facial expressions and lots of wiggly movements. When we finally got her to sleep and took a few sleeping pics, I attempted to gently move one of her legs and arms and nope! Lil Miss woke up and pulled her limbs back to where she wanted them. She was very clear about about who was running the show. This little peanut cracked me up! She is going to do just fine in the world. I had so much fun with her beautiful mama, Amy – a former ballerina – finding cute props around the house to use. The last pic says it all: “I know who I am and what I want, and I was in charge of this photo shoot!” I have so many favorites, see below for a few and click the link at the end for more!

Katelyn & Steve

It was a lovely, warm, spring night on Michigan State’s campus for Katelyn & Steve’s engagement session. These two are awesome and hilarious. Both accountants, they met as undergrads at MSU’s business school. Katelyn is as sweet and kind as she is beautiful. Steve is a lovable goofball who kept us laughing the whole time. Katelyn & Steve: I love the way these pics turned out, mosquitoes and all!! We survived and have sweet photos to show for it. Logan’s First Year: 4 Months

Lucas-Leclercq Family Session

These two families are pretty much the nicest people you will ever meet. You may recognize Sarah and Bob from their 2011 wedding. Fast forward a few years and they have an adorable new baby, Esme and a growing extended family. I was so excited when Sarah inquired about a big family session because I remember being welcomed with open arms at their wedding and having so much fun with everyone. Seeing all of them was like seeing some dear old friends again. We had a great time and managed to rock out this session on a beautiful spring day, just before a thunderstorm rolled in. Sydney Anne: 15 Months

Little Miss Sydney is our daughter’s BFF. Her and her wonderful parents happen to live next door and are the greatest friends and neighbors anyone could hope for. We’ve had so much fun watching our kids grow up together these past two years, keeping each other sane (and supplied with beer, wine and laughs) when the going has been rough. Brecks: You know how much we love you. Thanks for moving into the neighborhood and for being our saving grace more times than we can count! You guys are the best. Jonathan: Senior Portraits

It was so much fun working with one of my favorite and very first families again! I go way back with Lekosiotis family, so far back I don’t have a link to show you their blog post because I didn’t have a blog then! They are an awesome family and I’ve really enjoyed watching the kids grow up. Jonathan (or Johnny) is graduating high school this June. He’s a really laid-back guy with a good sense of humor and a love for golf and hockey. Johnny: Thanks so much for being fun to work with! It was a lovely, warm spring morning for Little Miss Sloane’s 1 year session. Tutus and pettiskirts abounded for this mostly serious-faced peanut. She reminds me of my own little one with her somber, calculating expressions. However, we did eventually find her smile trigger: “The Hot Dog Song” by Mickey Mouse. Google it. Emily & Mac

These two are awesome: laid-back, funny, lovers of nature. In addition to the outdoors, they love their dog Maggie, traveling, and staying active. Selah: 20 Months

I’m a couple of months late on the year and a half session, but hey, I do the best I can. The weather is FINALLy shaping up around here and it was so lovely to photograph my darling daughter in the warm, spring sun. It’s hard to believe that she’s almost 2! Time is certainly flying by just like everyone says it does. As usual, Lil Miss lacks no good thing in the wardrobe department largely in part to one our wonderful clients who generously donates her amazing hand-me-downs and an incredibly talented grandma who can knit/sew/stitch/create just about anything under the sun! Pictured below is a darling dress that she made from one of Gabe’s old shirts (Pinterest idea) and yes! Legwarmers!! Lil Miss is a full fledged toddler now with all kinds of personality. She’s still our somber-faced girl for the most part, but every once in a while, you’ll get a big toothy smile, a kiss blown your way, or a wide-eyed “What’s that?!” Here are a few of my favorites:

Introducing Madelyn Grace

It was so great to work with some of my favorite past wedding clients again! Darcy and Ryan (who you may remember from our 2010 archives) are the proud new parents of one very adorable Madelyn Grace. We had so much fun hanging out in her adorable room which turned out to be a great little studio. Miss Maddie was pretty chill, sleepy and adorable with only a few angry outbursts (captured below) for milk and snuggles.
