India is witnessing a unique shift in temple traditions as robotic elephants are being introduced in some Kerala temples as an alternative to live animals used in rituals and festivals. Developed using fibreglass, iron and rubber, these life-sized robotic elephants can move, flap their ears and spray water, offering a cruelty-free alternative while preserving ritual practices. The move, supported by animal welfare groups including PETA India, has sparked debate between traditional and modern ethics. Disappointing news has emerged for the Hindu community in Cambridgeshire, UK. A plan to build a temple on land designated for religious activities has been rejected, while a joint proposal by a church network and a Muslim group has been approved. Around 150 Hindu families living in the area still lack a local temple, forcing them to travel to other cities for worship and religious services. But you at least have to give credit to the Hindus there who did stand up in public for their demands.

A proposal to establish Cambridgeshire’s first Hindu temple has been turned down after a local district council awarded the site to a church-led project that will also provide space for the local Muslim community.

South Cambridgeshire District Council has granted a 999-year lease on a 0.25-hectare plot in the new town of Northstowe to the Northstowe Church Network (NCN), which will pay a peppercorn rent, according to a report by TOI.

Hindu Samaj Northstowe (HSN), a charity established by local residents, had also applied for the land with plans to build a Hindu temple alongside an interfaith and well-being centre.

However, council officers evaluating the proposals awarded HSN’s bid a score of 65%, compared with 81% for NCN’s proposal, resulting in the land being allocated to the church network. -FirstPost

According to media reports, as of June 27, more than 1,400 people have lost their lives and nearly 70,000 are unaccounted for. The damage and losses are significant and have created an urgent need for humanitarian relief.

Sri Sathya Sai International Organization (SSSIO) Venezuela responded immediately to assist those affected by this tragedy. Volunteers, including many Young Adults, are distributing food and supplies as well as helping with rescue and cleanup efforts. Latin American countries of the SSSIO, and the SSSIO Humanitarian Relief Committee are exploring additional ways to assist the affected people of Venezuela.

Many among our circles and other Hindus have told us that among the many scams, one of them is where you either wait in a long queue for hours to have darshan, or you get approached by some temple representatives who tell you that you can pay more and go to the front of the queue with extra pujas.

And this is just one scam among many others. We have said for decades that a special committee of vetted professional Hindus, especially with financial backgrounds, should be keeping a check on all temples and their trusts with their finances, donations, and bank accounts of these temple people who run these temples to publish details monthly to the Hindu public. If any fraudsters are found, then they should be punished, put in jail for a long time and all their assets taken. Also, there should be pressure on all Hindu temples to raise awareness of the persecution of Hindus with exhibitions, and also exhibits on Hindu warriors who defended Hinduism.

Anyone knows that in real Hinduism, it doesn’t matter how many Sanskrit mantras or slokas you know, or how big your status is, but if you are corrupted, then you represent Adharma, which is why we see in the Mahabharata what happens to the Gurus who side with the Pandavas. So no one is above Dharma. So you mess with Hinduism and our Gods, then you are in trouble.

Episode 1 of Namaste Yoga, a festival-selected short film about yoga, cultural appropriation, Hindu identity and what happens when a child is made to feel ashamed of his own culture. Shiv is a 10-year-old boy who does not want to be seen as Indian or Hindu. At school, he keeps his distance from Kali, his twin sister who is proud of her culture. But after a fight in the playground, Shiv is forced into mandatory lunchtime yoga classes to avoid suspension. The classes are led by Miss Blanche, his home room teacher and self-proclaimed yoga “guru” after a 200-hour course. As she teaches yoga without understanding its roots, Shiv begins to see his own culture being misunderstood, repackaged and sold back to him. Namaste Yoga explores cultural appropriation, racism, belonging, self-worth and the damage caused when Hindu children are taught to feel embarrassed by where they come from.

But then why blame others when most Hindus have no idea either of their past or even present persecution of Hindus, or even the great resistance of our warriors to why Hinduism survived? 

In a country of one billion Hindus known as India, where, apart from the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Museum created by François Gautier Museum on Shivaji, there are no museums or exhibitions on what took place against Hindus, where nearly 80 million were killed during 800 years of invasions and Islamic rule, and many taken as slaves, millions forced to convert, nothing on the Partition, where so many Hindus and Sikhs were killed, nothing about near to 3 million Hindus killed in 1971 during the creation of bangladesh but worse, hardly any temples, especially the major ones, have anything where they preach pseudo-Hinduism, meaning cowardice for cash handouts, which they also give in millions as jizya tax to the Indian government.

The millions of excuses we hear from pseudo Hindus, ‘we can’t do that because the government and police will close us down, or there is no Hindu ‘unity’, or worse, the past is past, as this is all maya, so don’t get attached to the world, or its all past karma so no need to get distracted when millions of Hindus are killed and raped blah blah blah….

Even Hindu writer Ram Swarup warned that modern gurus often promote an escapist spirituality. He critiqued preachers who use ancient concepts to justify ignoring the physical world, urging Hindus to embrace a worldly Dharma that fosters self-responsibility over escapism, blind following, and empty rituals. But he also mentions that the mindset started long before even Gandhi, who was just a product of this escapism. He says,

“Hindus fought Muslim invaders and locally established Muslim dynasties but neglected to study the religious and ideological motives of the invaders. Hindu learning or whatever remained of its earlier glory, followed the old grooves and its texts and speculations remained unmindful of the new phenomenon in their midst.

For example, even as late as the fourteenth century, when Malik Kafur was attacking areas in the far South, in the vicinity of the seat of Sri Ramanujacharya, the scholarly dissertations of disciples of the great teacher show no awareness of the fact.” – Ram Swarup 

 Social media influencers like Sai Deepak @jsaideepak or Anand Ranganathan @ARanganathan72 and others are doing a great job, but they need to point the finger towards where the biggest enemy of Hinduism that lies within, which is this Pseudo-Hinduism.
