The Hipsterist WordPress Theme is an free, open source, trendy, highly customizable, and mutli-colored WordPress theme for version 2.7 and higher. I designed it originally for this blog, however, after a long haiatus I have decided to release it as an open source theme for the world to use!

You can download the latest release of the Hipsterist WordPress theme by clicking here, or you can grab the source code over at it’s github page. Feel free to fork the project and submit your own changes!

Installation

1. Download the latest release of the theme and rename the extracted directory to “hipsterist”.
2. Move the “hipsterist” directory to the wp-content/themes/ directory of your WordPress install.
3. Activate the theme in the “Themes” menu under the Appearance tab.
4. Customize your colors in the “Hipsterist Settings” menu under the Appearance tab.

Young sneaker label, CLAE have released their recently announced Spring 2009 collection that has been floating around the internet for some time now. For the last two season, CLAE have offered nothing but new colorways and leather styles. As a brand who have been lucky enough to powerfully innovate the “smart casual” sneaker market, it has been sad to see their potential set to a limit due to their repetitive styles. As an avid CLAE fan, I was on the edge of my seat this season thanks to two new designs, and an array of new material alterations and colorways. Say hello to the Tompson—a black and white leather mid-cut sneaker mixing styles from their Whitman and Russell designs—and the Kennedy—a Vans Era looking style that reminisces on the 70s tennis shoe craze. Along with these incredibly charming new releases, CLAE has added a wide range of new colorways and material alterations on their beloved designs—including the Cousteau, Miles, Whitman, Russell, and Romare. They’re out now, so go get them!

One of my favorite labels, Y-3, is out this season with a new collection of mobile-inspired bags and suitcases. Their traditional sufisticated and technical designs have proceeded into this new line, defying the odds by offering both form and function. Appearing in timeless black colorways, these bags are perfectly marked with the classic Helvetica “Y-3″ Logo and stand out among even the most pretentious of bags. Ever since Daniel Craig wore that Y-3 jacket in Quantum of Solace, I have been awestruck by the beauty that Y-3 delivers in their simplistic, but oddly flamboyant designs. Like the rest of their collections, this line is going to cost a pretty penny—aka. it will set your wallet on fire.

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Fitted Hawaii are releasing a new line of “love” themed fitted hats and t-shirts. Continuing that life long “aloha” style, this release is highlighted by a set of striking red fitteds with the word “aloha” scripted on the front. While the rest of the collection is pretty yawn-ful (those tees give me the willies), it’s good to see some exceedingly excellent fitted hats by Hawaii’s favorite fitted boutique. Let’s just hope they release this line in more than just one colorway.

Reebok are continuing their cheery 2009 holiday line up by releasing this St. Patrick’s Day themed colorway of their renowned Sir Jam sneaker. With so many shades of St. Patrick’s Day green being on the brighter end, Reebok have given this release a nice camo-style that is extremely versatile with a lot of closets. A mix of patented and un-patented leather with the added touch of metallic gold put this sneaker into our awesome books. After a Chinese New Year release a couple of weeks ago, it’s good to see that they’re continuing to put themselves on the map this year with this Holiday celebration. Look out for a Mardi Gra theme soon.

The Hundreds are finally unveiling a full-blown preview of their Spring 2009 accessory collection. This new line includes an assorted range of wallets, a couple of new “JAGS” leather belts, some new beanies, a pair of flip flops, a new backpack, and the ultimate undeniable charm of The Hundreds. While very pretty and all, I can’t help but thinking that a lot of this stuff looks like drop-shipped chinese merchandise that’s been given the Hundreds logo. Maybe at a closer look these items will reveal a true beauty. They’ll be at The Hundreds LA and SF stores this Thursday at 11am.

I have this huge weakness for big bags that you can put stuff in. While putting stuff in big bags, I also like to look good. So when Blackbird got in this new Rag & Bone Gladstone Bag, I was in tears. This brand new 27″ x 16″ x 12″ indigo, cotton denim, duffle-style bag sports a leather trim exterior, a set of six metal feet, and a beautiful creamy interior that can only get better wear and tear. Pop culture clothing icon, RVCA are previewing their Spring 2009 Artist Network Program this week with the introduction of six new t-shirts designed by artists Andrew Pommier, Ben Horton, Ed Templeton, Matt Furie, and Barry McGee. The collection sticks with the artistic nature of RVCA and continues to introduce a lighter series of colorways into Spring ‘09. Featuring 60’s style drawings and simple mascots of the world renowned brand, the tees are sure to be hot items among the youngans. Look for them in select RVCA boutiques.

Let’s take a peek at Reebok’s new Ex-O-Fit “Mid Clean” release. These “clean” “mid”-cut sneakers feature a higher top raise than we’ve been accustomed to in the past, but it Air Force 1 style strap and solid colorways make these shoes an instant beauty. The release comes in two colorway forms, a light “mud” brown and a “mint” green, that are given the classic Reebok white sole and side branding labels. Currently you can grab them at Atmos, but we’re unsure when they’ll be out here in the US.

Play Cloths drops a preview for their surprisingly classy Spring/Summer 2009 line. I’ll be real candid here at say that when I heard that Clipse was undertaking a clothing project I was genuinely unsure about how it would be. I am musically a huge fan of Clipse, but I get nervous whenever my favorite MC’s venture into extra endeavors. I won’t name any brands, but there are quite a few hip-hop artist’s whom flopped with their clothing lines. Up until now I was still hesitant to get my hopes too high, but it is now safe to say that Clipse has done it proper.

Play Cloths follows in Pharrell’s footsteps and brings unique swag to urban-wear. I expected Clipse to release a more “hood” clothing line, but I am pleasantly surprised by how clean and original the Play Cloths look is. Virginia Beach is still on the map! Look for Play Cloths to be hitting the market hard.

PUMA hits us with the newest release of their First Round high-tops. The shoe is featured in two colorways, the first is the standard black with white hints and the second is yellow on black with white hints. Featured on the upper is a scattered pattern of First Round sneaker outline silhouettes.

PUMA is so far on fire this season, with the recent release of their UNDFT collaboration PUMA is set to have a break through year. If PUMA can continue this trend of design excellence they could very possible be closing the gap with NIKE.

Acclaimed as one of the greatest graphic novels of all time, Watchmen has been patiently waiting for a film adaption since it’s birth in 1986. Now finally right around the corner, we’re beginning to see more and more merchandising of the beloved comic popping out of Hasbro-type bands every day. I was a little sad at this over commercialization of something so close to my heart, but that mentality has changed with the release of a Watchmen Be@rbrick collaboration with Medicom Toys. I have never been so giddy in my life. The two 3-Pack sets feature Be@rbrick versions of Doctor Manhattan, Rorschach, Silk Specre II, The Comedian, Nite Owl II, and Ozymandias. This release should be in Be@rbrick retailers everywhere, including Medicom Toys itself.
