Quick & Easy Chicken Recipe

I found this recipe online at allrecipes and I LOVE it. Mine doesn't come out as pretty as the picture, but it is so delicious. It is really easy to make.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons olive oil
1 onion, chopped
4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
3 tablespoons ketchup
2 tablespoons soy sauce
3 tablespoons white sugar
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon ground black pepper

Directions

Saute onion in oil until translucent.
Add chicken, and brown lightly.
Combine ketchup, soy sauce, sugar, lemon juice, and pepper; mix well. Pour over chicken, and bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer for 25 to 35 minutes.

I try not to eat fast food too often in order to keep my food choices healthy and save money! It is so convenient to just pick up something from the way. Progresso soups are even more convenient and they have a lot less calories. I am a huge fan of the Progresso 100 calories soups. They taste really good and are guilt free! I just pop them in a bowl, put it in the the microwave for about a minute and I am ready for a filling meal. The 100 calorie Progresso soups are low fat and have no artificial flavors. With only 1.5 grams of fat, I can enjoy my soup and it is a great addition to my weight loss plan. It also has enough protein to keep me going until my next meal.

Progresso has 40 delicious soups with 100 calories or less per serving. With 40 flavors to choose from, you taste buds never get bored! My favorite soup is the Traditional Chicken & wild rice. I am a big margarita fan! I love virgin margaritas and I will on occasion have a real margarita with tequila. Yum! I was so excited to have the opportunity to review Fat Mama's Tamales "Knock You Naked" margarita mix.

Fat Mama's Margarita mix comes in a pack of 4. Each bottles makes 48 ounces of yummy margaritas. It's a great to have when you have company over or just to have for yourself, or for gifts.

I recently broke my precious blender so I enjoyed my margarita on the rocks. It was delicious. The mix is definitely tangy, but the alcohol toned it down some. I usually put some sugar on the rip of my cup and that also is great for sweetening the drink up. They tasted extremely fresh and they are definitely something I will make next time we have company over. My husband really enjoyed his margarita as well.

I love that the margaritas are SO easy to make. Just put the mix, ice, and some tequila (if you like) into a blender and you are ready to drink it up. I did my margaritas on the rocks so I just skipped over the blending.

Vacation!

Anyone going somewhere exciting for vacation this year? Last year we went on a cruise and it was amazing. This year we have nothing big planned. I hope that changes! We have a family wedding to go to in June, but we will only be there for a couple of days. It's will be great to see family. I'm hoping that dh and I can go somewhere even just for a weekend and be pampered and relax! Until then, I'll be dreaming about the beach and warm weather.

New Year Resolutions- Nutrisystem FAIL!

Did you make a new year resolution? Mine seems to always be the same- eat better & workout more! So far I am doing pretty good....

I even went as far to try nutrisystem, which I got food posioning from! YUCK! Apparently, I need to just stick to eating smaller portions and working out. I loved the convience of the program, but it wasn't worth me getting sick. Hopefully, it was just a fluke, but I am returning EVERYTHING. I started the plan on Wed. felt nasceous, but just brushed it off to having smaller portions or whatever. Thursday, I felt nasceous again, and friday after still feeling nasceous I finally puked it all out. Needless to say I didn't eat any of their food on Saturday and voilla! I felt completely better and have not had any issues since. I'm a little peeved that I have to pay for return shipping as the box is huge and I know it's going to cost a fortune to ship back. I wish I had never tried it.

So I'll be sticking to eating better, working out, and continue to enjoy my supplements.

Hi, I'm infertile. How are you?

Not the greatest way to start a conversation, huh? Lately, I feel like that's how every conversation would start if I told the honest truth. DH and I are approaching our 2nd year anniversary and it seems like everyone keeps asking when we are going to have a baby and what our plan is. It's impossible to plan when your body doesn't do what you want it to do.

We do have one child. I had a miscarriage Jan of 2011. I never thought it would be so hard to handle. Even a year later it still hurts like hell. In the beginning I was so angry at god for giving me the gift we wanted so badly and worked so hard for...and just taking it away. To be honest, there are times when I am still angry and bitter. I don't like being that way, but I am. It has definitely been the most physically and mentally painful things I have ever been through. This entire journey through infertility has been draining. What I have learned from all of this is that I'm not alone. Infertility and miscarriages are sadly very common. It doesn't make it easier to handle, but it does make it easier to find people who understand.

I just wish that some people would think before they asked and not assume that it's as easy as making a plan or just making love. ;) Sometimes people actually have to really work and spend money to have children. I just happen to be one of those people.

laundry detergent. I'm sure I've mentioned this before, but one of my least favorite house chores is laundry. Washing, drying, and folding clothes just to get them dirty again is not my idea of fun. The only thing about laundry that I somewhat like is picking which
laundry detergent to use. I love the smell of a fresh, clean load of laundry and I enjoy trying different scents of detergent. As much as I dislike doing laundry it's something that has to be done so every weekend I do the dreaded chore!

I chose to review the Mountain Breeze fragranced detergent. I love the smell of it. It is such a relaxing, light scent. It's not overpowering so you won't choke on it, but it still adds the scent I love to my clean laundry. The triple action formula comes in a variety of scents, but also a fresh & clear formula great or those with sensitive skin or allergies.

The Purex Triple Action is great for all washing machines. You can use it in traditional and high efficiency washers.

DH works out a LOT so I often get to do smelly, sweaty laundry. Purex is up for the challenge and really cleans his clothes, leaving them stain free and smelling great! So if you have to do laundry, make sure to try out the new Purex Triple action detergent. It will keep you from having to wash one load of laundry twice & you can at least enjoy looking at your clean load once it's finished.

I love the warmers that are two pieces. Those warmers have a bowl that is separate from the warmer. When you are ready to change the melt out, you just stick the bowl in the freezer for a few minutes and then the tart will come right out.

Band- Aids Collector's Series Review

Recently, I had the opportunity to try out a new product with Band-Aid. I was so excited. As a kid, I was always excited when I was able to able to pick out new bandaids at the store. Plain, beige bandages were not my thing! I liked cartoon characters and bright, cheerful bandaids. Bandaids were almost a fashion statement to me. Even now, both my husband and I refuse to buy plain bandages.

Band-Aid has recently come out with a Limited Edition Micky Mouse Collector's Series Tin, which I love. The limited edition Band- Aids are sure to catch anyone's eyes! These fun bandages display Mickey and all of his favorite friends. The tin is of great quality. The size is absolutely perfect, not too big and not too small. I really like that you can stick it in a diaper bag or purse without worrying about the Band-Aids getting lost at the bottom. I am big for recycling so I will probably to reuse the tins for anything that will fit in it.

Each tin includes 20 Band- Aids with a fabulous design.

Besides how adorable the Band-Aids are, the quality cannot be beat. Let me tell you, I've bought some CHEAP banadages before and they fell apart. Seriously, what good is a bandage that would stick to you and rips as you are trying to put it on. I do not have to worry about that with Band- Aid brand bandages. I can wash dishes, workout, and do anything without the worry of losing my Band- Aid. This quality cannot be beat.
