In Ubuntu Wine, Adobe Download Assistant unable to connect to internet or log in

In my Ubuntu I have Wine and Winetricks to run windows programs. I recently installed Adobe Air latest version and Adobe Download Assistant, and then launched adobe download assistant to download photoshop cs5 version.

But the adobe download manager was unable to connect to the internet and authenticate my user account to login, and gave some strange 100 error saying please check the network connection etc.

Please can somebody let me know how to make adobe download manager connect to the internet in Ubuntu Wine Setup.

I have a website with very small number of visits and hence want to ensure that my own visits to my website do not show up in my google analytics statistics of the website. This is to ensure that I dont end up believing many people are visiting my website just because I am visiting my webpages many times in a day. How do I batch resize multiple jpg images in a folder Ubuntu?

I have a folder with a large number of jpg images. All the images are very large in size too. I want to resize them all either to reduce their width by 50% or even better if it is possible to resize them to a width of 800 pixels. Also I do not want to resize any images whose width is smaller than 800px. Is this possible using some command line tool in Ubuntu?

What is the advantage or disadvantage of using href=”javascript:void(0)” instead of href=”#” when we have hyperlinks which are only meant to run javascript code by calling a javascript function on the onclick event of the hyperlink?

In Time Dilation Mirror Experiment Why does the Photon move diagonally and not vertically upwards?

We know that a Photon has no inertia and rest mass. And yet in a time dilation experiment the photon moves diagonally when fired and not vertically. Shouldnt it be traveling vertically when fired because it has no inertia and miss the mirror altogether. We can understand a ball thrown up moving diagonally, because a ball has mass and inertia and hence moves horizontally along the direction of its source frame from which it was fired. But why does a photon move diagonally too?

Why cannot we say acceleration actually curves the space-time and get rid of gravitational field once and for all?

IF the effects of the gravitational field(gravity) and acceleration are one and the same(identical) why talk about the gravitational field at all, why not just stick to acceleration and its relation to spacetime curvature(non-Euclidean geometric structure)?

How did Einstein ever think that mass-energy might be the cause of space-time curvature?

I have heard that the POE gave him the clue but I don’t see how the Equivalence between acceleration and the gravitational field pointed to mass-energy as being the cause of curvature. The thought experiment of the spinning disk seems to show a connection between acceleration and the geometry(curvature)of space-time that Equivalence describes. But I can not see why mass-energy(momentum-energy) is the cause of curvature?
