Tonight’s line-up was Mount Fabric and Binary. I missed the first band as I was watching a screening of Urbanized at the Deaf Institute (excellent film btw), but here’s a few photos of the second band – Binary:

What’s even more unbelievable is that once inside the Letterman studio an announcement over the tannoy actually encouraged the audience to take photos/videos and Tweet and update your Facebook about the event whilst it was being livestreamed to the web. I’d seen Ryan Adams play eight shows in 2011 up to this point and at every single one there was a strict no camera policy.

I was able to fund this insane European/US roadtrip thanks to some incredibly lucky gambling back in August. I backed Man City to score four goals in the second half when they were 0-0 at home to Swansea at half time (15th Aug, finished 4-0), and I also landed a 5-team accumulator at 74/1 (permed every combination so it was effectively 50 bets across those 5 teams) on the weekend Man Utd thumped Arsenal 8-2 (28th Aug), and later on that same day I backed Ronaldo to get a hat-trick at 14/1. I promised myself I’d spend the winnings on my first proper holiday in 11 years.

Last week my friends saw an advert for a ‘miniature dog show‘ in Spinningfields and thought it would be a laugh to go down and take some photos. I’d usually struggle to get up early on a Saturday morning, but giving up alcohol for a few weeks means no hangovers. Unfortunately my two other friends (whose idea it was to go) didn’t get up and missed a hilarious (& cute overload) morning.

I’m afraid my photos from tonight aren’t that great. The Ruby Lounge is one of the toughest places to shoot in Manchester – the red lights make it really hard unless you use a flash. I didn’t want to do that tonight – although I got lucky on a couple of photos and caught someone else’s light :) I was also in the same position for the whole gig so not a lot of variety in the images. I was more interested in trying to capture some video so hopefully they will look decent (haven’t had time to check yet!)
