Is it really considered a hobby?

To most it might not, but to some it is!
I heard something very interesting from one of my favorite fashion expertise today! She said to someone who was dressed a bit "frumpy" who not only has lost alot of weight, but is back in the dating scene, "All of your clothing, everything you wear, doesn't make you look attractive! It actually makes you look like you dont have sex at all. And if you don't change the way you look... you're not ever going to be having sex!!!" Now I am a christian girl, but I thought that was hillarious!

So, Although I am 27 with a boy that is turning 9. I believe I haven't let myself go! When I re-marry. That man is going to be happy! Very, very happy! Dumb, dumb ex husband for abandoning us! lol

I like this Hobby!

AutoWorld museum in Brussels - second half of 20th century

These are the shots from my recent trip to Brussels AutoWorld museum. All the cars in this album are from the second half of the 20th century.

AutoWorld is a vintage car museum in the center of Brussels, Belgium, located in the southern hall of the Parc du Cinquantenaire.

It holds a large and varied collection of 350 oldtimers, European and American automobiles from the late 19th century until the seventies. Including Minervas, such models as the Bentley 1928, the Bugatti 1930 and the Cord 1930, and several limousines which belonged to the Belgian royal family.

Custom Slipcovers for the Home

Creating slipcovers is not necessarily for the very beginner but it is doable and with a lot of practice you will become more comfortable with each slipcover you make.

Here are a few pictures of slipcovers that have been created in a variety of homes in the Southeast. I have been making slipcovers for over 30 years. I first studied under my mother in her home decor business. I did not actually sew my first slipcover until I was 30 and I have been making them ever since. You are always learning something new with each slipcover and the real trick is remembering what it was you learned so that it can be applied the next time.

I hope you enjoy this tour.

Maslenitsa - making pancakes

Maslenitsa is on in Russia. It means celebration and pancake time.

What is Maslenitsa?
Maslenitsa, also known as Butter Week, Pancake week, or Cheesefare Week, is a Russian religious and folk holiday. It is celebrated during the last week before Great Lent-that is, the seventh week before Pascha (Easter). Maslenitsa corresponds to the Western Christian Carnival, except that Orthodox Lent begins on a Monday instead of a Wednesday. The Orthodox date of Easter can differ greatly from the Western Christian date. In 2008, for example, Maslenitsa was celebrated from March 2 to March 8.

Italian Tuna Balls

My wife has recently surprised me with this great new recipe - Italian Tuna Balls.
There are very fast to make and also very feeling. You can eat them with pasta or with anything you like. I like it with spaghetti and tomato sauce.

To serve 4 all you need is:

.	3 cans (160g) tuna in sunflower or olive oil
.	Handful of pine nuts
.	Zest of 1 lemon
.	Parsley
.	Around 60 g of breadcrumbs
.	1 egg
.	Spaghetti
.	1 jar of tomato pasta sauce/ canned tomatoes
.	Oregano (fresh or dry)
.	Parmesan

Start with the tuna and drained the oil from the can. Put it on a site as you will use it later on to fry the tuna balls. Flake the tuna into a bowl; add pine nuts, roughly chopped parsley, lemon zest, breadcrumbs and beaten egg. Season to taste and mix together with your hands until everything is perfectly combined.
Now roll around 12 to 14 walnut-sized balls and start preparing the spaghetti. While the spaghetti is boiling heat the remaining oil from canned tuna on a non-sticking pan. Fry the tuna balls for around 5 minutes, turning every minute or so until they golden. Drained them on a kitchen paper.
Warm up the tomato sauce adding salt and pepper to taste as well as oregano.

Toss together pasta, tuna balls and tomato sauce and add some parmesan cheese and fresh parsley on a top.

Enjoy!

Ice swimming and Russian banya

In Russia and most of the Eastern European countries the ice swimming tradition has been connected with the sauna tradition. Back home sauna is called - banja. You have a nice wash and the dip yourself into ice water to cool down.

These pictures however are not after sauna, so you can imagine the feeling. The purpose of this kind of diving is solely for ones health and done in winter as you can see.

The feeling after is amazing! Believe me!

For those of you who do not know what banya is all about here is the description of banya from Wikipedia:
Russian banyas usually have three rooms: a steam room, a washing room, and an entrance room. The entrance room, called a predbannik or pre-bath, has pegs to hang clothing upon and benches to rest on. The washing room has a hot water tap, which uses water heated by the steam room stove, and a vessel or tap for cold water to mix water of a comfortable temperature for washing. The heater has three compartments: a fire box that is fed from the entrance room, the rock chamber, which has a small hole to throw the water into and a water tank at the top. The top of the water tank is usually closed to prevent vapour from infiltrating the banya, and water to be thrown on the rocks should be taken from the tank as this will make better steam than if cold water were used. If an electric heater is used, the firebox is omitted. Most Russians believe the wood-burning stove is a better banya heater, and studies have shown that negative ions are produced from wood-fired heaters, while electric heaters produce positive ions. Water from a bucket by the stove is poured over the heated rocks in the stove. There are wooden benches across the room from the stove. People enter the steam room when the stove is hot, but before water is poured on the rocks. Getting a good sweat on before using water is preferred to using steam right away, as the sweat is thought to protect and condition the skin from the steam.

A mention about garlic

Garlic is not only great for eating, but it seems it also is very photogenic. These pictures prove that I think.

A couple of facts about garlic and again Wikipedia comes to a rescue:
Garlic is widely used around the world for its pungent flavor as a seasoning or condiment. It is a fundamental component in many or most dishes of various regions, including eastern Asia, south Asia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, northern Africa, southern Europe, and parts of South and Central America.

The flavour varies in intensity and aroma with the different cooking methods. It is often paired with onion, tomato, or ginger. The parchmentlike skin is much like the skin of an onion and is typically removed before using in raw or cooked form. An alternative is to cut the top off the bulb, coat the cloves by dribbling olive oil (or other oil-based seasoning) over them, and roast them in an oven. The garlic softens and can be extracted from the cloves by squeezing the (root) end of the bulb, or individually by squeezing one end of the clove.

Oils are often flavored with garlic cloves. Commercially prepared oils are widely available, but when preparing garlic-infused oil at home, there is a risk of botulism if the product is not stored properly. To reduce this risk, the oil should be refrigerated and used within one week. Manufacturers add acids and/or other chemicals to eliminate the risk of botulism in their products.

Lamb with Buckwheat

Now you know what lamb is, but buckwheat is not so popular and not a lot of people know what it is. I'll tell you in advance that it is a very good addition to your ingredients variety and also good for a healthy diet.

Here are some facts from Wikipedia about buckwheat.

Buckwheat groats are commonly used in western Asia and eastern Europe. The porridge was common, and is often considered the definitive peasant dish. It is made from roasted groats that are cooked with broth to a texture similar to rice or bulgur. The dish was brought to America by Russian and Polish Jewish immigrants who called it "kasha" and mixed it with pasta or used it as a filling for knishes and blintzes, and hence buckwheat groats are most commonly called kasha in America.[citation needed] Groats were the most widely used form of buckwheat worldwide during the 20th century, with consumption primarily in Russia, Ukraine and Poland.

Buckwheat is used in medicine, upholstery filling and in beer producing. There is also a Buckwheat festival, which is celebrated in West visrgnia.

For more facts and info have a look on a buckwheat section on the Wikipedia:
