Manchester’s Bipolar Sunshine, a.k.a Adio Marchant, has just put out a summery new video for the uplifting Rivers. Adio’s quickly drumming up a strong following and it’s no wonder – early online plays of Fire and Blossom have made it clear that this man has some skill when it comes to penning a stand out track. The debut EP Aesthetics is out June 17th and they’ll be two EP release shows in Manchester and London. This year, Virgin Records will mark its 40th anniversary with a series of special events celebrating the British label’s long and successful history. Entitled ’40 years of disruptions’ and supporting the War Child charity, the events (listed below) will take place over the autumn, involving artists both past and present. 40 years of disruptions - An Exhibition overseen by Adrian Shaughnessy, George Lee and the team at This Is Real Art, that will include photos, seminal videos and memorabilia that capture the symbiotic collaborations between the cultural icons of the day. - An art book edited by NME journalist Adrian Thrills and designed by Adrian Shaughnessy. - A documentary produced by Leopard Films and directed by Paul Tilzey. - Live events at Camden’s KOKO. - A compilation CD with current Virgin artists covering Virgin classics and another disc with original Virgin classics.

Latitude: Bobby Womack, Gabriel Bruce, MØ & more added to lineup

With Latitude just two months away, organisers have announced further additions to their already impressive lineup. The legendary Bobby Womack will now be making an appearance at the festival as well as MØ, Wolf Alice, Gabriel Bruce, Hollie Cook, MONEY and Coves. There will also be a special show from Boom Bip and artist Charlie White who bring their collaborative Music for Sleeping Children project to the Film and Music Arena. Elsewhere, Eddie Izzard has been added to the comedy line up, along with Nina Conti and Richard Herring. Latitude takes place in the picturesque setting of Suffolk’s Henham Park from July 18th to 21st. Previously announced artists include Bloc Party, Foals, Kraftwerk, Alt-J, Beach House, Purity Ring, Hot Chip, The Tallest Man On Earth, Beth Orton, Disclosure, Friends, Jagwar Ma, James Blake, Jessie Ware, Swim Deep and Willy Mason. Fenech-Soler – Magnetic

This video was recently unveiled by Fenech-Soler for their latest synth-laden pop single Magnetic. The track is the first full single to be taken from the band’s upcoming second album Rituals, which comes out September 2nd on Warner Bros. Records. The largely self-produced sophomore effort follows the 2010 self-titled debut album, which earned Fenech-Soler with Q and XFM award nominations for The Next Big Thing and Best British Debut Album of the Year. Fenech-Soler are headlining London’s Electric Ballroom on May 22nd, before appearing at Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds Festivals and a series of other festivals over the summer.

As with her previous free Danger EP featuring Geeneus, Jessie Ware, Diplo, and Iggy Azalea, What Love Is Made Of sees Katy’s music embracing more of a club sound with rave synths and big breaks, married with Katy’s unmistakably sweet vocal. Winner of Best New Festival at the UK Festival Awards in 2012, Festival No.6 returns this September, hoping to impress festival goers once more with an even bigger lineup or music, arts and culture. Festival No.6 prides itself on its beautiful location, which is surrounded by the ocean, mountains and forests in the village of Portmeirion in Wales. Designed in the style of a Mediterranean town and more like a movie set than a festival site, Festival No.6 is spread across Portmeirion’s beautiful gardens, river, woods, lake, town hall and lighthouse, which are all brought to life with spontaneous performances, installations and street theatre. The festival takes place over the weekend of September 13th – 15th and features an eclectic lineup of musical acts, talks, debates, film screenings, comedy and art. Headlining the musical proceedings so far are Chic ft. Nile Rodgers, James Blake and Manic Street Preachers, who will appear in a UK festival exclusive.
