YNS Feature Day... Mash it up!!

It's time for our May Feature Day at Your Next Stamp and this month the team was challenged to Mash it up and use two or more stamp sets on their projects.

I used the Life's a Hoot and Hoot's Up! Stamp sets. I created a card front panel with the largest of the  Stitched Rectangle die set and then I added some circles with the Circles die set and then Stitching Marks Circle die set. I created a top folding A2 size card base and added some Clouds behind where the circle would be on the card base with the Puffy Cloud Border Die set. I adhered the top panel with some foam tape over the card base.

I stamped the Owl images from Life's a Hoot onto some Bristol paper and colored them in with Distress markers and an Aqua Brush. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out and then I adhered them inside the circles with foam tape. Then I die cut a banner from the Cool Tag Three die set and stamped a sentiment from Hoots Up! using Black Olive Ink. I adhered that off to the side and then I added a few Sparkly Spooky Cute Gumdrops

Head over to the YNS Blog for more Mash-Ups from the Design Team and be sure to leave a comment while you are there for a chance to Win a Stamp set of your choice.

NND May Release Day 4!!

Happy Thursday everyone, It's our final reveal day at Newton's Nook and tomorrow the entire release will be available in the shop!!! You didn't think we forgot about Newton, did you? Today we are introducing two new Newton sets... Newton's Donut and Newton Loves Boxes! Each set also has a coordinating die set.

My first card featured Newton's Donut and some Fun pattern papers from Doodlebug Designs.

I created an A2 size White card base and then I added some pattern papers. The donut paper layer has some Fun Foam behind it for a little height. Then I die cut a sentiment banner from the Frames and Flags Die set and stamped the sentiment along the Right side. I adhered to the banner with some Foam tape. Using a mix of Fun Foam and Foam Tape gives you different heights in your layers without making your card too bulky.

I stamped and colored Newton in with Copic markers and then I used the coordinating dies to cut him out. I added some Clear Nuvo drops over the sprinkles for a little shine.

The Newton Loves Boxes set is perfect for any cat owner... What cat doesn't love a good box? I paired the Newton image with some more Pattern Papers from my Stash. I covered an A2 size card base with the wood paper and then I used the new Framework die set to cut the scalloped rectangle piece out. I added some Fun foam and adhered it in the center of the card. I added a strip along the top of some Polka Dot paper and then I die cut a sentiment banner from some more of the coordinating papers using the Frames and Flags die set.

I stamped and colored the Newton image with Copic Markers and used the coordinating dies to cut him out. Then I adhered him over the sentiment with some foam tape. I wanted an extra pop of the Green so I added some coordinating enamel dots.

I arranged the papers onto an A2 Size card base and I used the large Banner die from the Frames and Flags Die set to cut a banner and I heat embossed the sentiment in White. YNS May DT Dare

We're continuing our Fun with the May Release at Your Next Stamp!! It's time for our monthly Design Team Dare. This month the team was challenged to use Shades of Blue for their projects.

I used the new Totally Narly Stamp and Die set and the Wave Panel Die to create a Stencil. I created the background a piece of Watercolor paper with several shades of Distress Ink and the stencil I created by die cutting the Wave Panel die from a piece of acetate. I trimmed the panel down and adhered it to a top folding A2 size card base with some foam tape.

I stamped the Whale image from Totally Narly onto some X-Press it! Blending cardstock with Black Olive and ink and colored it in with Copics. I used the coordinating dies to cut itout. I die cut a banner from the Fishtail/Banner one die set andstamped teh snetiment along the right side. I adhered it over the background panel and added the whale image. The Totally Narly set is a must have for your stash!!

Newton's Nook May Release Day 2

Happy Tuesday everyone.... I hope your week is starting off good. It's Day two of the May Release sneaks from Newton's Nook Designs. Today we are introducing Peony Blooms and it's coordinating dies.

I did some watercoloring with Distress Inks on my project. I stamped the image onto a piece of watercolor paper and then I added a blue wash to the background first with Peacock Feathers and Salty Ocean Distress inks. Then I added color to the flower image with Picked Raspberry and Mowed Lawn Distress Inks and an Aqua Brush. I used Fossilized Amber for the center of the flowers.

I added the Distress Ink to the craft Mat and picked it up with the aqua brush and dropped it into the clear water I had laid down on the image. This lets the water spread and keep the colors soft so you can gradually build up. You can also heat set your color in between layers. Once the image was dry I stamped the sentiment just below the flower to the Right overlapping part of the floral image. I wanted the sentiment to pop where it was over the flower image so I added some White gel pen around the letters.

I trimmed a 1/4" off the Floral panel and added some foam tape to the back. I cut an A2 size White card base and added some Black n' White washi tape along the edge. Then I adhered the image panel flushing it to the Right.

Newton's Nook May Release Day 1

Happy Monday everyone... It's time for the May Release from Newton's Nook Designs. You are going to love this month's release. Today we are introducing the Blooming Botanicals Stamp set and Framework Die

The Framework die works great alone or you can pair it up with our Frames and Flags Die set as well. I started my card by Stamping the Blooming Botanicals stamp onto two pieces of Watercolor paper with some Archival black ink. Then I used the largest die in the Framework set and die cut the first panel. I adhered that to a Black A2 size card base. Then using the third die in on the set the small scallop frame. I die cut the second piece of watercolor paper and again from a piece of Black to create a frame. I used the Spotlighting technique here but adding some Distress Inks to just the smaller portion of the image that I die cut.

I watercolored the image and then I added the framed piece over the larger portion lining it up. I adhered it with some foam tape for some height. Then I added some Black gloss Nuvo drops to parts of the flowers and set it aside to dry. Once it was dry I die cut the smaller frame and stamped the sentiment in Black and adhered it off-centered along the edge.

YNS May Release Blog Hop!!!

It's time for the May Release Blog Hop are you ready to see all the new products? I'm sharing two projects for the Hop the first one features the new stamp set Sea Friends and the new Tiny Sliders Die Set

I created a background with some Distress Inks on a piece of watercolor paper and then I die cut the panel with the stitched rectangle die and the new Tiny Sliders die set. I stamped the sentiment in Black Olive Ink. I added a double layer of foam adhesive to the back of the panel. Then I used some small sliders and small circles die cut from some scrap cardstock to create the slider element. I stamped the whale image onto some X-Press It blending cardstock and colored it in with Copics. Then I adhered it to the slider element I created and adhered the entire panel to the card base. For a touch of sparkle, I added some of the Watermelon Party Gumdrops.

My second project shares the new Wave panel die, Seas the Day 6x6 Paper Pad and the Super Cute Totally Narly Stamp Set and Coordinating Dies.

I cut the die three times from two pieces of the Seas the Day patterned paper and a piece of Yellow Cardstock. I adhered the panel to a Navy card base. Then I heat embossed the sentiment in White inside the center wave. I inlaid different pattern of the papers inside the wave die-cut as well. I stamped and colored the image with Copics and used the coordinating die to trim it out. I adhered the image to the front of the card with some foam tape.
