Rainy Days with Newton's Nook!

Happy Tuesday everyone... I hope your week is starting off good. I'm up on the Newton's Nook blog today with this cute Rainy Days card featuring the Umbrella Pals Stamp and coordinating die set

I created a background on a piece of Bristol paper using a cloud stencil and some Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide Ink. Then I cut the panel with the Frames and Flags Die set and adhered it to a Larger Scalloped rectangle from the same die set. I created a Grey A2 size card base and adhered the panels.

I stamped the umbrella images onto some X-Press it blending cardstock and colored them in with Copics. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out and adhered them to the card front with some foam tape. I stamped the sentiment onto a piece of White cardstock I die cut with the Frames and Flags die set using some Dark Grey ink. I added some Matte Grey enamel dots for an extra pop of the Grey.

NND & Xyron Inspiration Week!!

This week Newton's Nook Designs and Xyron are partnering for a very awesome inspiration week! Each day there is fresh inspiration using Newton's Nook Designs products with Xyron adhesives on the NND blog and on the Xyron facebook page

I'm up today and I'm sharing a Birthday Card featuring the Cocktail Mixers Stamp and Die set and the Waves Stencil. I also used the Magnetic Tape, Teresa Collins Sticker Maker and the Tape Runner

I started with a piece of watercolor paper and I added the some Blue Waves with some Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink and then Waves Stencil. I adhered the panel to a top folding A2 size card base. I set that card base aside to dry and stamped each of the cocktails onto some X-Press It Blending cardstock and colored them in with Copics. I added some extra details with a White Gel pen and Clear Wink of Stell pen. Then I trimmed each cocktail out with the scissors leaving about 1/4" around each one.

I added some clear packing tape over each cocktail image making sure to seal it on both the front and back sides. You could also use one of the many Xyron laminators they carry in their line as well. Once I had each one sealed up with the tape I ran them through my Big Shot with the coordinating dies to cut them out. *Tip: Run each one through several times to ensure it cuts the tape all the way through. Remove them from the Big Shot and run your bone folder over to make sure everything is sealed.

Then I cut the Magnetic tape to fit behind each cocktail. I added a second piece on the magnetic tape as well with the adhesive side up. When I place the images on the card where I want them this ensures the second magnet went where I wanted it to on the card base to adhered the magnet to the card.

I ran three pieces of White cardstock through the sticker maker and then I cut each one with the Cheers Die cut from the Cocktail Mixer stamp set. I removed the adhesive back and adhered each of them together creating. I adhered it over the cocktails with some foam tape leaving enough room for the Happy Birthday sentiment strip.

This is a fun way to reuse your images, they can be placed on the fridge as little magnets for the recipient or you can use them on place cards for a party and more...

NND June Release Sneaks Day 4!

It's our final day of sneaks for the June Release at Newton's Nook Designs. All of the products will be available in the store tomorrow Friday, June 22nd. We saved our newest Newton set for last and he's Adorable... Introducing the Newton's Kitchen stamp and coordinating die set!

Seriously way too much cuteness going on in this set... I created a Fun card using several of the images and some Plaid papers from Lawn Fawn.

I created an A2 size White card base and I die cut different size circles in the front panel. Then I added a piece of pattern paper on the back so it would show through the windows. I stamp and colored the images with Copics on X-Press It blending cardstock and used the coordinating dies to cut the images out. I adhered each of the images over the windows using some foam adhesive.

I die cut a sentiment banner from the Frames and Flags die set and added it along the edge overlapping just the edge of the larger circle. I wanted an extra pop of those pastel colors so I added some Glitter Gumdrops from Doodlebug Designs. I also added some Clear Wink of Stella to parts of the images. This is such an adorable set and perfect for anyone who loved to cook.

NND June Release Sneaks Day 3!!

Happy Wednesday everyone... It's Day Three of the June Sneaks at Newton's Nook Designs. Today we are introducing Two new stamp sets, Wine a Little and it's coordinating dies and Coffee & Wine

I used each of these sets on their own for my projects today but you could mix them up together on the same project!

For my Wine a Little card I kept it clean and simple. I created a background using the images in the set and then I colored them in with C Copics to create a monochromatic look. I trimmed a 1/4" off the side and I adhered it to a Black Top folding card base centering the panel so a little Black would show along the edges.

Then I die cut a Sentiment banner using the Frames and Flags Banner die set and heat embossed the sentiment in White. I adhered it along the edge and added two of the images from the set that I colored in with Copics as well. I like the pop of color against that background. It's hard to see in the photo but I added some Clear Wink of Stella to the Bottle and Glass image for a little shimmer.

My Coffee & Wine card is all about the Gold which is a little hard to see in photos. I created a background with some Distress Inks and Gold Paint to look like spilled Coffee & Wine. I created a White card base and added a stripe of Gold striped washi tape along the edge. I trimmed a 1/4" off the Distressed panel and adhered that to the card base flushing it to the right so the washi was exposed.

I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment and the images in Gold embossing powder. I colored the images in with Copics and the Sentiment is stamped on Vellum. I fussy cut them out and adhered them over the background with some foam tape. I added some mixed Gold sequins for an extra pop of Shine!!

NND June Release Sneaks Day 2!!

It's Day Two of the June release for Newton's Nook Designs and you are going to love today's Sneak!! Today we are sharing Loveable Llamas... Who doesn't love the llamas?

I used the new Sunscape stencil along with the Frames and Flags die set to create the scene. I used some Distress Inks with the stencil and then I created the sand with the Land Border die set. Once my background was created I stamped the sentiment inside the sun and then I adhered the panel to a White card base. Then I stamped the llama and accessories onto some White cardstock and colored them in with Copics.

I used the coordinating dies to cut the images out except the sunglasses I trimmed those by hand. I adhered the images to the scene with some foam tape. I added some Sparkling Clear Wink of Stella to the sunglasses and then I added some glossy accents. Once they were dry I glued them directly onto the llama. It's a little hard to see the shimmer in the photo. This is such a fun set and a perfect addition to any collection!
