A pioneering crime reduction project from St Giles Trust has been shown to substantially cut re-offending rates, potentially saving the taxpayer millions of pounds, a report launched today reveals.

The independent study into offender charity St Giles Trust’s Through the Gates programme has demonstrated that re-offending rates were cut by 40% when prison leavers were given intensive, specialist support.

First accredited centre to deliver new homelessness qualification

Kent homeless charity Porchlight has become the first centre in the country to be accredited to deliver the new ‘Engage to Change’ homelessness sector qualification.

The training, developed by the CIH, Homeless Link and London based homeless charity Broadway, aims to create a sustainable model which enables organisations to deliver an accredited programme with their existing resources.
