The Mondo Wi-Fi Music Player is portable and can be used indoors or outdoors, wherever there is wireless connectivity. Connecting the media player to your wireless network is very easy as it is compatible with WEP and WPA1/2 encryption and all 802.11 b/g/h wi-fi routers. Once you switch on the player, it will automatically scan and list the available networks. Just select your local network and you are all set to access the internet radio stations of your choice.  

Access over 18000 channels – The Mondo media player allows you to access over 18,000 online radio stations from around the world. Popular channels you can listen to include Pandora, Live365.com, CBS Radio, iHeartRadio, DAR.fm, National Public Radio (NPR), CNN, BBC and more. 

Color display for easy access – The media player has a 3.5 inch color LCD display with high contrast, which makes it easier for you to operate the device. Although the screen is not very big, it is good enough and allows easy search and access the radio stations of your choice. Using this screen, you could search for a radio station by name, genre, location etc. 

Rechargeable batteries – As the Mondo comes with rechargeable batteries, it does not have to be plugged in at all times. The batteries allow upto 6 hours of play time with average volume.  

Seamlessly stream music – This device can stream music stored in your local database through wi-fi. It also has an aux-out port which allows you to stream music from your CD player, iPhone or a flash drive. The Mondo streaming music player supports MP3, WMA, WAV, AIFF and Real Audio formats. 

For audio output, this device comes with a built-in 3-inch woofer and a 1-inch tweeter. The RCA jacks of the Mondo, which are located on its left and right sides, can be used to connect it to a Hi-Fi system for enhanced audio experience. In addition to that, this media player allows 10 presets and saving of over 100 radio stations for easy access. It also has an alarm feature, with 5 alarm settings and a snooze option.

The Mondo Wi-Fi Music Player is available in two colors – black and white. It is presently available in the market for $179.99. Considering that this streaming media player is only for music, and not movies or other media, the price can seem very high for many.

WD TV Live 

Western Digital’s WD TV Live is a media player that is very easy to use. This media player allows you to stream internet content including movies, music etc to your existing TV. In addition to that, this device also allows you to connect your TV to your local network, and stream all the content stored in your laptop or computer. The WD TV Live box also has a USB port, which you can use to connect your flash drive and access pictures, video and audio without hassles. The box is just 125 mm wide, 100 mm deep and 30 mm in height, which makes it smaller than a stack of 3 CD cases. 

This device, once connected to your television, is very easy to set up. The interface is simple and user-friendly. However, at $100, this device offers less than 30 channels, which is rather low for its cost. The channels on WD TV Live include Netflix, YouTube, Hulu Plus, Vudu and even BBC, although it fails to offer notable services like Fox News and Amazon videos. 

NeoTV Streaming Player 

The NeoTV Streaming Player from Netgear is somewhat similar to the Roku Media Player – costs less and offers a multitude of online channels. NeoTV offers around 140 channels including Pandora, YouTube, Netflix, and even Vudu. This media player also gives you access to CinemaNow from Best Buy, which allows you to rent or buy movies online. It offers 1080p video quality and is available at just $50. But unlike the WD TV Live, this device does not have a USB port, nor does it allow you to connect to your TV to the local network.
