DVDO has recently announced the launch if its new wireless HD video and audio streaming device, which comes sans wires. Transmitting uncompressed HD audio or video files to your HDTV or any other display device using the new DVDO Air WirelessHD is very easy. The device saves you from the hassles of using wires to connect the source with your HDTV, giving your wall-mounted HDTV a neat and clutter-free look. This means you can enjoy 3D Blu-ray movies by seamlessly streaming the uncompressed video files using wireless connectivity.

Features of the Air WirelessHD Player

No more messy or ugly wires that make your beautiful HDTV look unkempt. The DVDO Air WirelessHD Player works wirelessly at 60 GHz and delivers 1080p video, along with 7.1 surround sound audio, to get you the best streaming media experience. The media player works well for both 2D and 3D video formats and works within a range of 30 meters. And that means you don’t have to have your set-top box, DVD or Blu-ray player close to the wall-mounted TV. All you need to do is connect the transmitter to the source and the receiver into your HDTV or other display device and you are all set for a top-class HD movie experience at home.

How it works?

The Air WirelessHD player is a wireless connector that uses a receiver and a transmitter to connect the source and output devices for HD media streaming, without lengthy cables crawling across the floor. The connector transmits the HDMI from your DVD, DVR, cable or satellite TV set-top boxes, laptops or any other source that has the uncompressed files, to your HDTV. The best part is that the sound and the picture quality you experience with the Air WirelessHD would be as good as it would be when you use the best HDMI cable for connectivity.

The device also comes with a mounting clip that makes connecting the wireless receiver on your HDTV easy.

Top-notch HD videos

Unlike other HD media streaming devices, which compress the HD video files for easy streaming, DVDO Air WirelessHD streams full HD files, without compressing them. This means, you will not have to compromise on the video quality with this wireless media player. Along with the 1080p video and 7.1 surround sound, this wireless streaming media player also supports 3D and CEC (Consumer Electronics Control), and is complete HDMI compliant. The media player functions on the 60 GHz technology to deliver the best streaming experience without any interference from WI-fi networks, mobile or cordless phones.

Great option for all

DVDO Air WirelessHD is a great option irrespective of what kind of home theatre system you have. The device aims at bringing the best quality video and audio to your living room, all while keeping the place free of multiple cables and wires. DVDO Air is compatible with a variety of home theater systems, and works well with home theater components like EDGE Green and DVDO Duo to enhance the experience. The product is available with the authorized dealers and retailers in the market for just $399, which is reasonable considering the features it comes with.

One of the leading manufacturers of consumer electronics including TVs, LG had collaborated with Google to provide hardware for the search engine giant’s Google TV software. Previously, Google had partnered with Sony, Samsung and Vizio for its TV, with Sony and Vizio already launching their Google TV products in the market. The new HDTV that LG is launching for Google TV would come equipped with exciting features including a custom user interface.

LG Google TV Features

LG’s Google TV is a combination of the popular Smart TV and 3D technology from LG and the easy-to-use Android operating system, which makes it an attractive option for home entertainment. By integrating the best technologies, LG aims at providing consumers an exciting new way of enjoying internet TV. Not only is the HDTV option thrilling, it is also very convenient, as it is powered with the Android interface that many users are familiar with.

LG had features two TV sets, as possible hardware to support the Google TV software. One is a 55 inch OLED and the other is a bigger 84 inch LCD TV. The manufacturer claims that the 55 inch TV has the lightest and the thinnest panel for a TV of that size – the panel is just 4 mm thick, and weighs no more than 3.5 KG. It offers 1920X1080 Full HD resolution along with excellent color, contrast and brightness options owing to the OLED technology.

The 84 inch LCD TV, on the other hand, offers Double HD with 4k resolution, giving you a great deal of detail, with top-quality color, contrast and brightness of picture. However, the 84 inch LCD is not the thinnest or the lightest for its size, given that it comes attached with a separate backlight.

CINEMA 3D Technology

The LG Google TV will be equipped with its in-house CINEMA 3D technology. As the name goes, the CINEMA 3D technology will allow you to watch 2D content in 3D with just a click of the remote. To enjoy this technology, you need to use the 3D glasses that are designed based on LG’s FPR or Film Patterned Retarder technology. These glasses are lightweight, battery-free and inexpensive too.

With this technology, LG’s Google TV promises an absorbing, yet simple and comfortable home entertainment experience.

Magic Remote and NetCast

Another very interesting feature of the LG Google TV is the Magic Remote Qwerty, which uses voice and gesture control technology. As the name says it, the remote also has a QWERTY keyboard on one side, with TV controls on the other.

Besides the Google TV, LG has also announced that it plans to develop its Smart TV platform on NetCast with the help of open web technologies like Linux and Webkit browser. The company plans to launch its Smart TVs with NetCast in around 85 countries. Rumor has it that LG is also working with Google to launch a Nexus TV sometime in the coming year.

At the CES this year, the company had revealed the details of its latest 3D Blu-ray home theater systems – the SC-BTT195, SC-BTT490 and the SC-BTT190. Along with these, the company has announced the release of three HTB series home theaters – SC-HTB20, SC-HBT350 and SC-HBT550 – for the year 2012.

According to Panasonic, these home theater systems would have all that you need for the perfect instant home cinema experience. These latest Blu-ray 3D home theaters systems would be released in the year 2012 and would be available at affordable prices, according to the company.

Features of the Panasonic BTT systems

The three HTiBs that Panasonic plans to launch in 2012 would have great 3D support and surround sound that promises theater-like experience at home. Integration with iPhone and/or iPad, VIERA Connect service, DLNA support and smartphone control are among the common features you would find in this line of Panasonic HTiBs. With the VIERA Connect feature, you will be able to access plenty of web-based entertainment options including Netflix and Youtube. The VIERA Connect also features access to Facebook and Skype if you have a webcam attached.

Along with that, the 3D Cinemas Surround is another feature common to these home theaters. The 3D Cinema Surround, which is developed by Panasonic, delivers sound through 30 or more virtual and real speakers. In the 2012 home theater systems, the company plans to include the “direction perception control technology”, which allows users to feel that the sound as coming from the right direction.

These three 3D Blu-ray home theaters also come with the Anti-Jitter Digital Amplifiers, which will prevent any jitters or distortions from affecting the sound quality. The SC-BTT490 comes with a built-in Wi-fi feature, one HDMI output and two HDMI inputs. Panasonic is yet to release the detailed specs for the other two home theater systems. The company has not announced the price or the release date for these systems either.

Features of the HBT home theaters

The HBT home theater systems use Bluetooth with Wireless Music Streaming to stream media on your TV. This means that you can play music from any of your Bluetooth-enabled devices like iPhone, iPad or iPod without having to dock them. These home theater systems also come with a wireless subwoofer, which can be conveniently placed anywhere. The speakers of these home theaters are slim, multi-positional and detachable, which makes it easier to place them anywhere you want. Using these home theater systems, you could choose to watch videos with the TV on, or just enjoy the audio when the TV is switched off.

The common features of the SC-HTB series of home theater systems include Clear-mode Dialog (improved audio), Dialog Level Control for adjusting the frequency of the audio range, Anti-jitter Digital Amplifier and Auto Gain Control. VIERA Link feature, the Audio Return Channel and 3D Signal sync are common to SC-HTB20 and SC-HTB550. While all the three systems come with a stainless mesh design, the SC_HTB550 also has a shiny finish.

According to Panasonic, the HTB series home theaters would be ready for shipping by April 2012. The price, however, has not been revealed by the company.
