Often times when I go out shooting, especially with the family, I can&#8217;t waste time switching lenses. That&#8217;s when a zoom can come in handy. As always, when looking for a lens speed and quality rank No. 1 &#38; 2 in terms of priority. I was looking into options and the Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L USM seemed to be the best fit for me. But how to be sure? It&#8217;s definitely a bit expense to take on a whim. So, I rented one from BorrowLenses.com. And with great results.
On a side note, my experience with BorrowLenses.com was fantastic. E...<div class="feedflare">

I&#8217;ll admit, this lens wasn&#8217;t totally a necessary addition to my arsenal. I already have a Canon 50mm f/1.8, and it definitely can hold it&#8217;s own. I&#8217;ve had great results with it for as long as I&#8217;ve owned it. But I wanted to give the f/1.4 some consideration, just to be cheeky.
The build quality of the f/1.8 is completely inferior &#8211; it feels like a toy with it&#8217;s all plastic body and plastic mount. The focus ring is itsy bits on the rim &#8211; kind of annoying. You definitely notice a slight speed diffe...<div class="feedflare">

I recently grabbed the lovely Canon 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM. No, I&#8217;m not a professional photographer. No, I&#8217;m not independently wealthy. I&#8217;m just extremely meticulous about my images and feel its worth.
At half the price I could have opted for the version of the lens with no image stabilization (IS). Honestly, if its offered, why not take advantage of it? Camera shake can always be a problem, even if you&#8217;re pretty steady (as I am), especially when working in macro.
Wide aperture at 2.8 is lovely. I love shooting with...<div class="feedflare">

A wonderful new addition to any office, and now a new addition to mine. To adjust the intensity or change the light color from warm to cool, just slide a finger along a groove in the lamp base.
Nothing wrong with that when it comes to lighting. Leaf is the first lighting product that lets you choose warm mood light or cool work light, or something in between, along with the level of illumination you want. All with ridiculously simple and intuitive touch sensitive controls that help you make small adjustments easily.

I wandered into my parents yard, as any other day, when I realized&#8230; They had a lot of moss. All kinds, all over. And it was lovely! So I decided to keep some. I spent a few dollars on the additional plants and activated charcoal, but everything else we had at the house. I guess that was my justification for spending so much on the glass jars from Crate and Barrel? Oh dear&#8230;
Well, let&#8217;s just hope they live. If not, I can rebuild and try again&#8230; and take more pictures.<div class="feedflare">

Matt Braun and Matt Griffin have made it their business to bring sexy back&#8230; by way of some fantastic wood type. The &#8220;Bearded&#8221; duo has decided to seek and select some rare (and frankly forgotten) wood typography from the days of letterpress. With the help of Kickstarter, they are seeking funding to digitize their findings. Check out the pitch video:

Next Interview: Jon-Paul Kaiser
I discovered Jon-Paul Kaiser&#8217;s work and was simply blown away. His style was very unique, nothing like I&#8217;d seen before on a vinyl toy. Sure I&#8217;d seen black and white designs, but nothing with this dynamism. Back in July, I contacted Jon about creating some customs for me. There was quite a wait list (as you would imagine).
