School is officially out in our area and the kids are ready to celebrate summer! My niece and nephew have already mentioned tons of great ideas for things they want to do now that they have so much free time.

You know I'm a list loving girl, and how better to keep track of all your great summer activities than a cheerful list on the fridge! There are a few ideas to get you started around the edge and lots of room for what ever your family is ready to do.

New in the Shop - Printable Planner Pages

New in the HoneyLanePaperie shop!

We are all searching for ways to be more efficient and less frazzled, right? I'm a major list maker, whether its grocery lists or home improvement projects, and don't even get me started on Christmas gift lists!! My schedule also benefits from some list making and note taking, and I've been playing around with some planner pages for my super cute Webster's Pages Color Crush planner.

The Color Crush planner is a great size to toss in my purse or work tote and by customizing the pages that I use, it is keeping me on track and helps with both home and business organization. This is the light pink, which seems to be more in the family of coral or salmon but whatever you call the color, she sure is pretty! I made a few custom dividers using assorted scrapbook card stocks in pinks and gold.

Since I purchased mine well into the calendar year, I didn't buy the full kit with dated calendar pages but that's no problem. There are so many great options out there, but it takes a while to decide how you want to set up your information. I've been playing around with a few different ideas for the calendar pages, and at the moment I'm in love with a setup where each day has its own page. Having a special space for Priority Tasks is a huge help to me, and then I have sections for both work and home details.

Page-a-Day Printable Pages

They seemed to be well liked on Instagram so I'm putting them on the website. Its a quick download and then you can print them at home to your hearts content. I love the flexibility of being able to print your own pages. If you make a mistake, there is no mess to fix. Just grab a new page and start fresh. The pdf includes 2 days on a page and you can print them out double sided according to your home printer instructions. There are also cut lines to be sure your pages fit. Then grab a hole punch and punch them to fit your planner.

Easy to use!

These are so easy to use. Just circle the month and date at the top and then you're off! There is a space at the bottom for you add embellishments or some of those adorable planner stickers that you can see all over the web. My next project will be creating some cute graphics for stickers. Water intake is a big thing now that summer is in full swing here in Florida and I think a cute little water bottle should be at the top of my list, don't you?

Printable St. Patricks Day Shamrock Garland

It's almost St. Patrick's Day so its time to get your green on! This is one of my favorite holidays since there are quite a few Irish folks way back on my family tree. I've set up an easy, last minute shamrock garland printable for you.

There are two options. One pdf can be printed in color on your home printer or at a print shop for you to cut out. The second pdf is just the black outline of the same shamrocks, which can be printed on colored or patterned card stock and then cut out.

Each page here has four large shamrocks and 3 small ones so it makes a nice variety for a garland. The large shamrocks measure about 4 1/2 inches tall from stem to top. They would even make cute cupcake toppers. If you are printing the color version, I recommend using a medium weight card stock so they'll hold up well. My go-to card stock for projects like this is the 110 pound card stock from Staples. Its sturdy for many projects, but not so thick that its difficult to cut by hand.

There are several ways you can put together a garland from these little lucky shamrocks. Use a hole punch to make a hole on one or two leaves, and then string them on jute, twine, ribbon or raffia. I used an invisible thread, also labelled as monofilament, for the green card stock garland shown above. I used a 1/16" hole handheld hole punch for a small hole on two petals of the shamrocks, then threaded them onto the monofilament so that it rests along the backside of the shamrocks. You could even thread a needle with the monofilament and just stitch right into each shamrock.

Hang your garland vertically or horizontally. If your garland will be outdoors, you can laminate the printed sheets before you cut them out to make them a little weather resistant. So many options!

If you have a sewing machine handy, you can simply sew down the center of each. Leave a little space between them or a lot of space. For a three dimensional garland, print out double the amount you need and sew two layers together at a time for each shamrock on your garland. You can gently separate the two layers, folding along the stitched line for a big pop!

Lace Earring Cards - New in the Shop!

Some beautiful crocheted lace doilies inspired the latest lace design earring cards from Honey Lane Paperie!

We can make these with the earring holes can be placed in the center / middle of the card or closer to the top for longer earrings. These measure 2 1/2 inches square and combine our favorite quatrefoil edge with some cute cut outs to make the lacey part. Use the lace at the top edge or the bottom edge, depending on your earrings. A necklace version of this card is coming soon!

There are also matching smaller earring cards. These are a great size for studs or button earrings, and of course you can always hang longer earrings from them too. They measure 2 inches wide.

Pastel Heart Cutouts - New in the Shop!

Valentine's Day is just around the corner and I'm sure you're thinking about how to decorate and what kind of Valentines you'll be giving this year. We're getting the DIY / Party section of the new online store started with these large pastel hearts.

These are 4 inches across and I'm sure you'll find tons of uses for them! Use them in gift wrapping, scrap booking, card making, garlands or other home decor. They are a nice size for wishing tree notes from wedding guests too!

The pretty pastel shades are reminiscent of the conversation hearts candy, so grab some alphabet stamps and a pink or red ink pad to create a cute message to put in your Valentine's lunch box or briefcase.

A Fresh Start

The time between Christmas and New Year's is full of contemplation for most people. Not only is there the anticipation of a fresh start in the brand spanking new year, but I have a birthday between those two holidays too. I start a new year on several levels and this year that means a fresh focus on Honey Lane Paperie!

In addition to starting a blog for Honey Lane, I'm also working on a new standalone website so stay tuned for more exciting details.
