Kevin Durant was a guest on Hot Ones with Sean Evans to run the Internet famous gauntlet of 10 increasingly hot wings while answering spicy questions. The last time we saw KD in official action, was when the Golden State Warriors beat the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals. Ironically, Durant would kinda face-off against the Cavs once more before the new season. As Cavaliers forward Kevin Love also accepted the Hot Ones challenge a few months ago and powered his way through each Scoville unit like a chicken champ. Phil Jackson was finally fired and it’s like Christmas in June for Knick fans today. One day after serious rumours surfaced of a rift between Dolan and Jackson, the Knicks this statement below and happy triangle free days are ahead in the Big Apple.

“After careful thought and consideration, we mutually agreed that the Knicks will be going in a different direction,” said Mr. Dolan. “Phil Jackson is one of the most celebrated and successful individuals in the history of the NBA. His legacy in the game of basketball is unmatched. We wish him the best and thank him for his service to the Knicks as both a player and an executive.

“While we are currently evaluating how best to move forward regarding the leadership of the organization, I will not be involved in the operation of the team,” continued Mr. Dolan. “Steve Mills, the team’s general manager, will run the day-to-day business of the organization over the short term. Tim Leiweke, who brings tremendous expertise and experience in sports franchise management from both Toronto and Los Angeles and is our partner in the Oak View Group, will advise and work with Steve on an interim basis to help develop a go-forward plan.”

“The New York Knicks will always hold a special place in my heart,” Mr. Jackson said. “This team and this town launched my NBA career. I will forever be indebted to them. I am grateful to Mr. Dolan for giving me the opportunity to return here.

“I had hoped, of course, to bring another NBA championship to the Garden. As someone who treasures winning, I am deeply disappointed that we weren’t able to do that. New York fans deserve nothing less. I wish them and the Knicks organization all the best – today and always.”

Ahead of Game 3 in Cleveland, Cavaliers guard JR Smith and his wife Shirley sat down with ESPN’s Rachel Nichols to talk about their daughter Dakota, who was born four months premature.

Charles Barkley popped up in Nashville to take in the Stanley Cup Final and like a lost episode of Pro Stars. Sir Charles hooked up with Wayne Gretzky to talk NBA vs NHL playoffs and his admiration for hockey that began in Alabama.

“I started following hockey actually in Birmingham, Alabama,” Barkley said. “They had a team called the Bulls back in the day. That was my first recollection of hockey. Then when I got to Philadelphia, my favorite hockey player of all time is Ron Hextall. I got to know him and Eric Lindros going to a bunch of Flyers games. Then Mike Wilbon, one of my mentors, takes me to the Stanley Cup Playoffs with the Blackhawks the last few years.

“I was in Alabama and I’m here, I’m talking to J.R. (Jeremy Roenick), who I talk to quite a bit, he’s my neighbor in Arizona, and he’s like, ‘Man, you’ve got to come to Nashville for a game.’ He said, ‘It’s the craziest thing I’ve ever seen.’ Then I get a really nice call from Commissioner Bettman and he says, ‘Hey, for all the nice things you’ve been saying about hockey, come to a game.’ So I said, ‘Hey, I got nothing to do.’ ”
