On your comparison to Thornton being flip murray is see that, but i also feel that he is very much like jason terry. A guy who can shoot and drive and more importantly get to the free throw line. Do i expect a guy who can compete for a 6th man of the year? No, at least not this year but down the line it could be completely possible. I also would like to say that all the complaints about thornton being non athletic, he doesnt look all that bad, alot more athletic more than i thought.

On the big men i think toliver shows the more offensive promise showing nice form on his jumper (but likes the 3 alot more than i like, thornton for how hot he was wasnt getting many shots because toliver took 5 threes). Barron shows fundamental defense. But like you said cusworth and salvers showed the most effort and i respected them for it. The worst by far was nevil, at one point Rick Kamla said it might help him get rebounds if he jumps, yeah not a good sign

Collison has showed alot of poise, also it seems after half-times that he makes the right adjustments and come out of the gate firing which is a great sign. And with help from the coaching staff in the big games he should be able to do that from the start

@cpthunda: i would like thornton just because of his shot making ability, he can just hit tough shots, and when he is on fire he is crazy. Not that i dont like collison i just think hes too small to play the off guard #

So when we go to a small lineup at a certain point in games as we have done in the past often CP3 with a combo guard who do we pair him with Thorton or Collison? #

Haha I saw that too. He also said that Thornton and Collison would make a very interesting bench for the Hornets because while they will be inconsistent as rookies, they both play with a ton of energy and have high basketball IQ's, which usually ends well (see Posey, James before this year lol) #

Truehoop's Midpoint Awards, All-Rookie Team:

"Darren Collison (NOH): The Hornets' first-round pick has brought the discipline and patience of his UCLA pedigree to the pro game. He matched George Hill mano-a-mano in his first game, then came back Tuesday night with 23 points. He's also a perfect 16-for-16 from the stripe in his two games."

heh, I'm starting to have fantasies of a Hornets PG love fest, Paul and Collison competing to out do each others' performances on the court ... I'm thinking a much more fun (for me) pointless point guard debate is, which is better, Paul or Collison ... (Paul is better than everyone, of course, as he is the reigning Prince Regent [and future Emperor] of NBA point guard-um [due to the aging Nash and Kidd] but really, for Hornets fans, Paul/Collison is a no lose argument, right?)

I am ecstatic with the summer league play so far. I'm hoping that Collison and Thornton give JuJu a place to be comfortable in the rotation and a click to hang with on the court so that those 3 learn what to expect from each other night in and night out. I'm sure it's no secret that we need all 3 of them to contribute off the bench immediately and I think that fact alone will push them harder. Not many picks 20-60 are garaunteed playing time in their first year and I'm pretty sure it's game over for Devin Brown and Antonion Daniels getting that time (at least I really hope so). Also one thing about Collison.

The kid is a nice athlete with a good basketball IQ and he's learning from the best PG on the planet. #
