Hello my dear students! There’s a phenomenon sweeping LA! I’ve been seeing tons of “agerasia” lately, especially when I get near the cosmetic surgery offices in Beverly Hills. So, what is “agerasia?”
Like so many other words, this one comes from Greek. The first part, “a,” means “not.” The second part, “geras” means “old age” (like the modern English word “geriatric”). The final part, “ia,” is a common suffix that turns a word into the name of a condition. So voila, there you have agerasia—the state of looking younger than your actual age!

As far as medical conditions go, this one doesn’t seem all that bad—but it seems to be spreading fast! Your mom, your girlfriend, who knows who’ll be next?! Have you spotted any agerasia around town? Let us know in the comments!

Today I’m going to tell you about one of favorite things to do while lying down. It’s accubation, of course. Yes, you heard me right, that’s ACCUbation. It means eating or drinking while lying down.
The history of the word is really quite simple. Accubation comes from “accubare,” which is a Latin word that means “to recline.” In Ancient Greece this was a common way for men to eat… can you believe it took them a long time to realize it would be way more exciting if women joined in the fun?
If you want to explore some accubation on a night out, there are clubs in Beijing, Bangkok, Prague and Miami that will suit your fancy. Just be careful—in Thailand they believe accubation could turn you into a snake in your next life!
Hmm, I wonder if there’s a word for eating or drinking while having sex? Ever heard of such a word… or have a good suggestion? Leave it in the comments!
