Zayn Malik releases his version of Jimi Hendrix’s 1971 song “Angel”. The song was released in honor of what would have been Jimi Hendrix’s 80^th birthday on November 27^th.

On November 25^th, the former One Direction singer dropped his take on the guitarist’s 1971 song “Angel”, which originally debuted on his posthumous album The Cry of Love. The cover has been approved by the late icon’s team, judging by Jimi’s Instagram page posting a teaser of the song earlier in the week.

Stamp of Approval

According to Billboard, a spokesperson for Experience Hendrix, L. L. C. said: “We are pleased that Zayn has been inspired to use original music from Jimi Hendrix’s ‘Angel’ in his recording of the song. We’re hopeful that this version of a Hendrix classic will enlighten a new generation of listeners about Jimi’s genius and further propel his continuing legacy.”

The rendition of the song is also an experience Zayn will never forget. Being asked to collaborate to celebrate the late singer’s 80^th birthday was “such an unexpected and huge honor”, the star wrote on Instagram.

“I have so much respect and admiration for Jimi, his music and fans. Angel is out now – hope you love the track as much as I do. Happy 80^th Jimi,” he added.

Back in Studio

More than 50 years later after Jimi’s passing, the new “Angel” marks a rare music release from Zayn, following his 2021 album Nobody is Listening. He also recently collaborated with Yung Bleu on the number “Fire Inside”.

These days, the singer has been more focused on activism – campaigning for expanded free school meals in the UK and co-parenting his 2-year-old daughter Khai.

The bride wore a white, caped embellished, tulle bridal gown with floral accents and a cathedral-length veil. The groom sported a black tux. The couple was seen posing outside with their wedding party, which included Jason Kennedy and wife Lauren Scruggs Kennedy as a groomsman and bridesmaid.

A week after Dua Lipa was seen stepping out with Daily Show host Trevor Noah, she confirmed her true relationship status for the record.

Setting the Record Straight

“For me, this is the first year I’ve not been in a relationship for a very long time,” the 27-year-old singer said during the iHeartRadio original Dua Lipa: At Your Service podcast on October 7. 

“It’s been really great to just be alone and only think about myself and kind of be quite selfish.”

As Dua noted, it’s a time in her life she’s welcoming with open arms since she’s “never really had the opportunity.”

“But when you find someone that really softens you and calms you down,” she added. “I think it is the Leo thing—it makes a big difference.”

Dua’s glimpse into her current love life comes on the heels of her nighttime outing with Trevor—which understandably put fans into a tailspin. The “New Rules” singer and the 38-year-old were seen enjoying a night out together in New York City late last week.

Prior to her step back into the single life, Dua dated Anwar Hadid—whose sisters are Bella Hadid and Gigi Hadid—for two years before calling it quits in late 2021. After her split, as Vogue noted, she was “single and content” and more than happy to embrace a new chapter on her terms.

Addressing the Drama

In the latest episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast, Hailey got candid about the mutual respect she has for Selena. 

“I respect her, there’s no drama personally,” Hailey told host Alex Cooper without directly mentioning the name of the Only Murders in the Building star.

In the 1-hour interview, Hailey addressed allegations that she “stole” Justin from Selena during the singers’ tumultuous on-again, off-again relationship. When asked if she had ever been with Justin while he was with Selena, the 25-year-old model said: “No, not one time. When him and I ever started, like, hooking up or like anything of that sort, he was not ever in a relationship — ever, at any point. …It’s not my character to mess with someone’s relationship, I would just never do that. I was raised better than that. I’m not interested in doing that.”

No Hard Feelings

Hailey also revealed that she has spoken with Selena since she married Justin Bieber in 2018 and that their communication “brought [her] a lot of peace.”

“…It’s all respect. It’s all love,” Hailey said in regard to the “Lose You to Love Me” singer. “That’s also why I feel like if everybody on our side knows what happened and we’re good and we could walk away from it with clarity and respect, then, like, that’s fine.”

“It is what it is,” she continued. “You’re never going to be able to correct every narrative and there’s gonna be new ones that come. It’s never gonna end and that’s why I get to the point — that’s why I didn’t speak about a lot of this stuff.”

Adam Levine denied he had an “affair” with model Sumner Stroh but takes “full responsibility” of his “flirtatious” behavior toward her while being married to his wife, Behati Prinsloo.

‘I Crossed the Line’

In a statement to TMZ on September 20, 2022, Levine said:

“I used poor judgment in speaking with anyone other than my wife in ANY kind of flirtatious manner. I did not have an affair, nevertheless, I crossed the line during a regrettable period of my life,” he said. “In certain instances it became inappropriate. I have addressed that and taken proactive steps to remedy this with my family.”

I never wanted to come forward because obviously I know the implications in doing what I do, making money the way I do and being an Instagram model, so being tied to a story like this, I know the stereotypes,” she said. “I had sent some screenshots to some friends I thought I trusted and one of them had attempted to sell to a tabloid. So here I am.” Sumner captioned the TikTok, “embarrassed I was involved w a man with this utter lack of remorse and respect.”

His Marriage

Adam and Behati married in July 2014 after almost two years of dating. They welcomed their first child, a daughter named Dusty Rose, in 2016. Their second child, a daughter named Gio Grace, was born in 2018. News broke that Adam and Behati were expecting their third child together after the Victoria’s Secret model was photographed with a baby bump in Santa Barbara, California, in September 2022. Leonardo DiCaprio and Gigi Hadid were spotted getting up close and personal over the weekend.

New Couple?

The rumored new couple was getting cozy at a New York Fashion Week after-party in New York City over the weekend.

The two looked deep in conversation with DiCaprio, 47, whispering in Hadid’s ear as she leaned forward.

At one point, the Titanic star appeared to get a little handsy with the model, 27, as he put his hands on her shoulders before reaching for her hand.

The pair seemed to be secluded from the rest of the exclusive party thrown by DiCaprio’s friend Richie Akiva and Darren Dzienciol at a loft in SoHo, as reported by other news outlets.

Breaking His Pattern

News of the pair’s budding relationship came as a surprise to many as DiCaprio is famously known to only date women under 25.

DiCaprio and Hadid were previously hanging out together at the same club around the time of his breakup from model Camila Morrone.

The former couple split after four years together, ironically right after Morrone’s 25th birthday.

The “Wolf of Wall Street” star quickly became a meme on the internet for his apparent dating preferences.

Not only is Hadid the oldest woman the actor has dated in a while, but she’s also the only mother he has ever shown interest in.

Gigi shares her 2-year-old daughter, Khai, with former “One Direction” member Zayn Malik. Hadid and Malik split one year ago following an alleged altercation with her mother, Yolanda Hadid.

Sylvester Stallone’s wife, model Jennifer Flavin, reportedly filed for divorce after the couple disagreed over whether or not to get a new dog.

Puppy Destroys Marriage?

TMZ reports that Stallone wanted to adopt a Rottweiler to help protect their family, but Flavin wasn’t into the idea — spurring a heated argument earlier this summer that apparently brought up a number of other issues between the couple. 

Regardless, Stallone adopted a Rottweiler anyway and named him like his character on the upcoming Paramount+ crime drama series Tulsa King.

On August 5th, he shared an Instagram post dedicated to Dwight, captioned: 

“So incredibly happy with my newly acquired four legged friend ‘DWIGHT’ my characters name from the Series, keep punching and keep barking !!! Thank you very much to Trainer and breeder Dave Smith and his wonderful wife !!!” Another Instagram post arrived three days later, captioned: “‘DWIGHT’ Definitely a true friend! KeepPunching And Keep barking!”

However, this seemed suspicious after Flavin shared a photo August 10th of her with the couple’s three daughters. “These girls are my priority,” she wrote. “Nothing else matters. The 4 of us forever.”

Previously, Daily Mail shared a photo indicating that Stallone had gotten his bicep portrait tattoo of Flavin covered up with a portrait of Butkus, the bullmastiff who appeared alongside Stallone in the first two Rocky films.

The Response

Stallone commented on the reason why his marriage ended.

“We did not end the relationship on such a trivial argument,” the actor told TMZ. “We just went in different directions. I have the highest respect for Jennifer. I will always love her. She’s an amazing woman. She’s the nicest human being I’ve ever met.”

He also said that he covered up his tattoo of Jennifer as he went to get it refreshed, but it was messed up in the process.

Why They Kept Things Private

The 26-year-old Don’t Worry Darling actress and the 47-year-old Cheaper By the Dozen star were together for three years and even faced split speculation just a few months ago.

In a recent interview for Harper’s Bazaar‘s The Next Icons issue, Florence confirmed they quietly broke up earlier this year.

“We’ve been trying to do this separation without the world knowing, because it’s been a relationship that everybody has an opinion on,” she told the mag. “We just felt something like this would really do us the benefit of not having millions of people telling us how happy they are that we’re not together. So we’ve done that.”

She also opened up about the lack of privacy on their relationship and the mean comments.

“Whenever I feel like that line has been crossed in my life, whether it’s paparazzi taking private moments, or moments that aren’t even real, or gossip channels that encourage members of the public to share private moments of famous people walking down the street, I think it’s incredibly wrong,” Florence expressed. “I don’t think that people, just because they have this job, that every aspect of their life should be watched and written about. We haven’t signed up for a reality TV show.”

Recent Projects

While Florence and Zach may no longer be together romantically, they did film a movie together that will be out next year called A Good Person.

“The movie that we made together genuinely was probably one of my most favorite experiences,” she said. “It felt like a very natural and easy thing to do.”

Secret Wedding?

The “Let You Love Me” singer, 31, and the Thor: Love and Thunder director, 46, were photographed with what appear to be gold wedding bands on their fingers in recent social media shots, captured by the Daily Mail. A new report in The Sun claims the pair wed recently in London.

Reps for Ora and Waititi did not comment.

Ora and Waititi went public with their relationship last year after they were first linked back in April 2021 when Ora posted a photo of her and Waititi embracing. She captioned her post, “Good times, memories, random things on my phone and the ones I love.”

After that, the pair made their red carpet debut as a couple at the August 2021 premiere of The Suicide Squad in Los Angeles. In September, Waititi and Ora appeared together at the 2021 Met Gala, where Ora posed in a two-piece Prada outfit alongside the filmmaker.

Keeping It Private

Waititi won an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay for his 2019 film Jojo Rabbit, which he also directed and starred in. He’s made movies like Hunt for the Wilderpeople and What We Do in the Shadows, and he’s acted in films like Free Guy, Lightyear and The Mandalorian.

He split from ex-wife Chelsea Winstanley in 2018 after being married for seven years. He and Winstanley share two kids, daughters Te Kāinga o te Hinekāhu, 10, and Matewa Kiritapu, 6.

British singer/songwriter Ora recently released the single “Finish Line” and has acted in movies like the Fifty Shades of Grey franchise. She’s among the cast of the upcoming action movie Tin Soldier along with Jamie Foxx, and she lends her voice to the new animated series Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight.

In September, Ora told Vogue Australia about keeping her love life mostly private.

Russian court found Brittney Griner guilty on drug charges and sentenced the WNBA star to 9 years in prison on August 4.

Her Attorneys Response to the Verdict

Brittney Griner’s legal team has responded to her trial’s “unreasonable” outcome.

More than four months after the WNBA star was arrested at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo International Airport for allegedly possessing vape cartridges containing cannabis oil, a Russian court found Griner guilty of drug possession and smuggling, in addition to finding her guilty of committing the crime deliberately. At her hearing on Aug. 4, Griner was sentenced to 9 years in prison and received a 1 million ruble fine ($16,000) for conscious drug smuggling and possession.  

Following her sentencing, Griner’s attorneys addressed the ruling.

“We are very disappointed by the verdict,” Griner’s legal team shared in a statement to E! News. “As legal professionals, we believe that the court should be fair to everyone regardless of nationality. The court completely ignored all the evidence of the defense, and most importantly, the guilty plea. This contradicts the existing legal practice. Taking into account the amount of the substance (not to mention the defects of the expertise) and the plea, the verdict is absolutely unreasonable. We will certainly file an appeal.”

Politics Involved

President Joe Biden—who has heard from the 31-year-old through letter correspondence—also shared a few words on Griner’s sentence. 

“Russia is wrongfully detaining Brittney,” a statement shared on Aug. 4 read. “It’s unacceptable, and I call on Russia to release her immediately so she can be with her wife, loved ones, friends, and teammates.”

WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert and NBA commissioner Adam Silver also spoke out on behalf of their organizations. “Today’s verdict and sentencing is unjustified and unfortunate,” the joint statement shared to social media read, “but not unexpected and Brittany Griner remains wrongfully detained. The WNBA and NBA’s commitment to her safe return has not wavered.”

Prior to the verdict on Thursday, Griner apologized to the court and asked for leniency in an emotional speech. “I never meant to hurt anybody, I never meant to put in jeopardy the Russian population, I never meant to break any laws here,” she said.

“I made an honest mistake and I hope that in your ruling that it doesn’t end my life here. I know everybody keeps talking about political pawn and politics, but I hope that, that is far from this courtroom.”

Today, August 5, The US and Russia have indicated they are ready to hold talks over a prisoner swap.
